Movement 4: Humanity Tells Me (1): Talking about Dreams (2-in-1)

Fan Ning once again asked a question that had nothing to do with the current situation.

Without waiting for Joan's reply, he counted the bodies again.

"Why is the teacher so concerned about the number of people today?" An asked quietly.

The two girls exchanged glances at each other.

"Yes, first we confirmed the number of our brothers and sisters, and then we asked this group of hunters who are part-time blackmailers." Luna said puzzled.

Although they didn't know that Fan Ning was still in contact with another person, he did not hide the counting movements in his eyes and fingertips.

Joan's small font appeared on his arm seven or eight seconds later:

"In the end, is it you who is facing you, me, or you and me?"

"At that time, the only one who was hanging around with me in the small town of Vatznai was Owen, and the rest of the Special Patrol Office didn't follow."

"When we met later in the attic, there were five of us."

Fan Ning raised his hand and glanced at it before putting it down.

He searched all over the hospital again and found some documents and books with special or suspicious materials.

"The Luthier's Dream", "Venom Classification Illustrated Book", "Usei Tantra"...

"Why did you just ask that?" Qiong's font continued to appear and disappear.

Fan Ning put away the books, lowered his eyes for a moment and then raised his head:

"It's okay, let's go."

It was just a subconscious inquiry, and it may indeed have nothing to do with Qiong. She mentioned the scene where they met with the Special Patrol Office in the attic of the "Split Chrysalis". Fan Ning also remembered that the casualties of the other party's personnel were constantly changing.

But just now he had thought that when he first stood on the window sill of the director's office and looked at the dawn, when he was walking through the corridor of the living room surrounded by a group of people from the Special Inspection Office, they were two inspector generals and seven senior investigators.

Nine people.

Fan Ning's footsteps stepped over the hunter's corpse and crushed the shriveled and withered layers of the snake corpse.

Luna and An breathed a sigh of relief. They were finally leaving this weird and scary place. This was the first time they had traveled with the family caravan so many times. However, they also confirmed and believed again that as long as the teacher was there, they would be safe as usual. In fact, the main thing is

Relief of mental state.

The two of them hurriedly followed Fan Ning's pace, carefully avoiding areas that were too dirty on the ground.

After stepping out of the old threshold of the main entrance with one foot, Fan Ning noticed new writing on his sleeve:

"Wait a moment."

So he turned around and frowned again as he looked at the messy blue-purple hall of St. Arternes Hospital.

What other unusual things did Joan discover or perceive?

The two students had been staying close to each other obediently without making a sound. Now Fan Ning stood there for more than a minute before Qiong's handwriting appeared again:

"This place looks a bit like a 'disintegration field' right now."

Fan Ning's eyes narrowed.

The mysterious place where the "child mother" that Joan mistakenly entered when she was first promoted, where the extraordinary strings D strings were scattered?

What is "now"? What is "seems"?...

Fan Ning recalled some of the memory scenes she provided about the "disintegration field" dream when she last communicated with Joan alone:

"...There are bright and sharp things all over, which may be plant-like or wire vines. They are constantly rotating, intertwining, and grinding. Then, there are many well-like things under the surface."

He began to compare the new factors that changed the scene in front of him after these hunters inexplicably committed suicide and after this large group of snakes emerged and were solved by "Yin Lilian".

The purple and red colors of the snakes are indeed very bright.

After the corpse was quickly dried and withered, the dry residue left in the hall did look very sharp. Although it did not look "plant-like", the "wire vine-like" one could barely get close.

Rotation, staggering, and grinding are not possible. After all, dead snakes will no longer squirm, but... there are indeed many broken wells here.

Fan Ning's fingers stroked the purple strings, leaving spiritual traces on his clothes and sleeves:

"Am I entering the "disintegration field" now?"

Joan replied:

"It's just like, not "is"."

"The small but numerous snakes are one of the understandable images of the Child Mother, and the poisonous venom that can penetrate the human body is one of the symbols of her divine power."

"Maybe it's some kind of metaphor or revelation."

Fanning suddenly felt a little weird and ridiculous.

Using a "old-fashioned plot" and dirty methods, these hunters provoked two of their female students in the tavern, and were forced to come to the Ortos rainforest to work as guides, and then were buried in the Ortos rainforest.

Among the snakes in St. Acronius Hospital, it was just to form... a scene full of metaphors?

"Take off your D string temporarily." Joan's handwriting appeared again.

Fan Ning didn't know why but did as he was told. When he held the string vertically in his hand alone, a certain purple halo gradually condensed into a solid substance, and turned into a drop of deep purple liquid at the end that was about to fall.

This is an extraordinary dye "Purple of Tyre" that she sent from Yiyong.

"Choose a well at random and draw a "key" phase witness talisman in the center of it." Qiong thought for a moment. For the sake of caution, she did not dare to directly ask Fan Ning to draw the "child mother" witness talisman, but chose to model the lake.

Refer to, reduce the direct impact of possible contamination. After all, the safety of this god of origin or source of matter is difficult to distinguish for the supplicant.

"Purple of Tyre" continued to condense and drip at the end of the extraordinary strings. Fan Ning completed several actions at her request and recited a short auxiliary general prayer.

Some inspiration was taken away from him, but it was limited to the strength of his assistant role. When the air near the well burst out with electric sparks like a "high voltage leakage", the thick purple "key" witness symbol underneath flashed away.

, everything seems to be restored to the way it was before drawing.

Joan appears to explain:

"I just gave it a try, and somehow it seems to work."

"I recorded a moving road sign."

Fan Ning's look of surprise flashed past, and he slowly controlled his spiritual traces and asked:

"The way back to the dreamland in the "Cracking Field"?"

"Then what happened to the witness talisman next to the piano upstairs just now? Is it another way to dream that is polluted by the "pool" phase, and is almost stuck in the dream?"

Joan responded quickly in a few short words:

"Not sure; don't know."

"Let's go first."

All the scars on the sleeves were restored to their original appearance, so Fan Ning suppressed the doubts in his heart and once again motioned for the two students to follow and evacuate.

Since the arrival of midsummer, my doubts have not been less than this. Just this trip to St. Arternea's Hospital has caused strange things to happen one after another.

Obviously this is not a place suitable for lingering discussions.

The clear moisture of the Ortos rainforest hit their faces, clearing away the smell of rotten blood in the three people's respiratory tracts.

"Cuckoo, cuckoo..." "Chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp..."

Amidst the lingering sounds of birds, Fan Ning led Luna and An down the stone steps of the hospital where weeds and spores grew wantonly, step by step away from the blue-purple building that still looked out of place in the night.

He lowered his head and hugged the guitar, walked through the festered courtyard net, and whispered to himself thoughtfully:

"The most basic extraordinary thing about a wise person should be?..."

Luna and An thought that the teacher was testing the mysterious knowledge he had taught them recently. At this time, they couldn't help but look back at the empty St. Arternes Hospital and tentatively replied:

"Is it possible to know dreams and control dreams?"

“Can you begin to decipher the meaning of inspiration and revelation?”

The rotten leaves and fruits under their feet exploded and overflowed with pulp. The three of them walked forward in the forest, one foot deep and one foot shallow. Fan Ning's memories of where he came from were retraced, and his eyes and thoughts became more profound and far-reaching.

"Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun"..."

It should be said that the term "faun" is not unique to this world. After all, as long as humans are engaged in animal husbandry activities, such mythological concepts will be born in folk culture, whether it is the half-human, half-animal god of fauns in Greek mythology in the previous life, or the god of fauns here.

The same is true for the god of fauns who is considered to be a certain image of the "Fanghui Poet".

This epoch-making orchestral work depicts a faun lying in the shade of a tree on a midsummer day with the scorching sun in the sky. She seems to be sleeping but not sleeping, thinking wildly, and feels that she has entered the fairyland of Mount Etna like a lake, where,

She saw the beautiful fairies dancing and spent a soul-crushing moment with them. Just when she was about to be punished for her blasphemy, she drifted into a deeper dream...

...

Regardless of whether its musical vocabulary is radical or not, at least the philosophy behind it is undoubtedly "Dionysian" and embodies some kind of "pool" mystical inspiration.

"So the "Prelude to the Afternoon of the Faun" that Viennese was inspired by the 'old days', and the first movement "The Poem of Awakening" that I composed based on what I saw in the South, are both dreamy inspirations dominated by the 'Dionysian' style.

, so that the 'Awakening Chant' was realized in different eras..."

"The contents they depict are all violent and idyllic, and they are all 'summer noon dreams'."

As Fan Ning's thoughts flowed inadvertently, he determined the overall title of "Third Symphony". When it is not appropriate to declare "Third" at the moment, the latter is undoubtedly a more suitable choice to meet the public.

"And if I want to follow my current train of thought and continue writing my 'Summer Noon Dream' to perfection, I obviously need to interpret the dream more deeply, and even try to answer 'Love is a question'."

"...So, among the many occult features of dreams, what is the most abstract and essential?" When his thoughts reached the last sentence, Fan Ning couldn't help but ask in a low voice.

Human beings are often accustomed to associate late night with silence and darkness, but the Ortos Rainforest in midsummer is an exception. There is clear moonlight and noisy insects and birds, but the two students who focused on the path under their feet did not hear it.

It wasn't until more than half an hour later that Qiong's handwriting appeared again on Fan Ning's lapel:

"The suppressed emotions and desires are satisfied in disguised form."

...

The rhythm of everyone's return journey is completely different from when they left.

Fan Ning gave up the method of commanding the way, and casually chose the means of transportation in a generally southerly direction, and stayed and slept according to a regular daily routine.

Sometimes he took Luna and Ann on a journey in a merchant's carriage, sometimes he hired donkeys from farmers going to market, and sometimes he played an old piano in a dilapidated station, waiting for the clang of the old-fashioned steam train.

They drove into the platform, dragging chains and coal ash.

There are also moments like this, when the steam ferry is sailing on the route of the Paradogos Islands, the sea is calm without any ripples, the sky is as blue and black as the sea, and as much starlight shines in the sky, the sea level is also the same.

On the deck, Fan Ning was leaning against the side while writing. The two little girls lay on their sides on the wicker chairs, looking at the teacher and then at the sea. As time passed, they could no longer tell the difference between the sea and the sky. In many moments, they felt like they were stretching their bodies.

On the edge curve of the sky, if you loosen or slip just a little, you will fall into the vast and dazzling sea below.

At another moment, Fan Ning drew a double vertical line to end the third movement in his hand. He felt happy in his heart, so he held on to the side rail of the steam ferry and exhaled toward the black and blue sea. However, his mood was like

A cup of boiling tea left outside may feel hot when you drink it, but it will cool down in a blink of an eye if you don't pay attention.

Fan Ning, who has been immersed in Western humanities and poetry for several years, just now for some reason, a sentence like "The moon shines separately, the bright river shares its shadow, and both the outside and inside are clear."

He felt that this was really appropriate for the current starry sky and sad state of mind, but facing the two girls beside him who were always paying attention to his every move, he also said, "it's hard to tell you the beauty of it when you understand it leisurely," so

The moment I just finished writing, I could only "keep my hands on the boat and scream alone, not knowing what time it will be".

In this life of the old industrial world, is it possible for me to include Tang poetry and Song lyrics in a symphony in the future?

It sounds like a ridiculous idea. How have I ever seen such a work in my two lives...

Fan Ning chuckled and shook his head when he thought of this, and then his thoughts returned to the "Summer Noon Dream" in his creation.

The third movement that has just been completed is "The Animals of the Forest Tell Me". It is a scherzo with an exotic and mysterious beginning: in the light decomposed octave pizzicato of the string section,

The single yellow pipe blows out the fixed sound pattern of birdsong, which complements the flute's description of the cuckoo's dance theme... More and more birds sing gracefully, forming a bold counterpoint relationship, and the friction and squeeze between intervals even bring out the sound of cuckoos.

There is a hint of provocative and charming style...

But as the dance theme progresses continuously, the triplet rhythmic chirping of the single yellow pipe in E flat heralds the individual death of these jungle singers. Under the guidance of the harp in the 37th bar, a new elegant nightingale emerges

The sound appeared gracefully and gradually developed into a resonant solo from the band's off-site address, which seemed to praise the beauty of life in the pastoral poem.

And when the audience thought that the violence in the jungle ended, the unsettling cuckoo theme reappeared in the second half, so the main line here is just the continuation and clarity of the second movement - it is still the tragedy of individual death, including

Plants, including animals, the elegant nightingale is just a small episode among them.

Near the end, Fan Ning completely abolished the only remaining graceful nightingale image that symbolized hope, and used continuous vibrato descending and the band's strong playing to create a disastrous sound effect. This song

The scherzo finally comes to an end in a fragment that metaphorically expresses the tragic atmosphere.

The above creative process was completed very smoothly under the current inspiration, and Fan Ning did not experience too many difficult ideas.

Because he seemed to have found a little "routine" in the creation process of this key: the first movement "Poem of Awakening" bred from "nothing", "void" or "chaos" climbed upwards to the second

The movement "Plant World", and then the third movement "Animal World", they are all praying for higher spirituality, which is a very appropriate expression.

"The most thrilling step is probably from the third to the fourth movement..." Fan Ning knew very well that the previous "routine" might not be completely copied.

Only by first understanding the Phaeta can one climb the Phaeta and be promoted to the Insightful One in one's own way. This "Third Symphony" expresses its understanding by metaphorizing the upper and lower structures of the Phaeta -

The doors at the first, second, and third heights are all just "spiritual doors", corresponding to the "gnosis" contained by the Knower during the ascent...

Starting from the fourth height, the fourth, fifth, and sixth doors are the "doors of divinity"! They correspond to "true knowledge"!

How to complete the transition from metaphorical "spirituality" to metaphorical "divinity"?

In the vast sea, Fan Ning, who was leaning on the side of the ship, started to have a headache and "stuck up" when he thought about the subsequent creation.

"Could the title of the fourth movement be directly 'The Lord of Witnesses told me'? This is obviously unrealistic and goes against the laws of mysticism or art. Moreover, how can I write in the future?..."
