I rarely talk about creative issues in various places, because I feel that as an author, it is enough to write my own articles well. Today I have a rare opportunity, and I suddenly thought about this book.
In fact, even I don’t believe it myself. The first unpublished 50,000 words of this book begin with an urban novel.
Well, you read it right, it’s a modern city, easy to write, and there are many cute girls driving together.
It has nothing to do with Western fantasy, steampunk, Cthulhu, or even half a dime.
The initial idea, or motivation, was just to write a professional article on classical music.
According to this idea, I plan to submit articles on urban or light novel themes, and add some elements such as rebirth, system, entertainment, love, business war, or urban supernatural powers.
As a professional novel in which music runs through the main line, this is the choice for most.
As a special case, before writing the book, I only knew about "Arcane God's Seat" from the Novice Village period and "Qin Emperor" from the ancient times. Later, after a book friend mentioned it, I also learned about "Crown of Silence".
Either a platinum or a master, a newcomer should write about urban entertainment honestly, and drive by the way, so I have the first 20,000 words of scrap manuscript that has not been submitted yet.
Why did you change your mind later?
First, I think the best way to tell a story about classical music is to tell it in a European context similar to the 18th and 19th centuries.
Second, if we want to build a system of power, the one most closely related to art and most valuable for development, in addition to humanistic factors, should be religion or mysticism.
How about a fantasy?
When this idea came to my mind one day, and it became more and more intense and convinced, I knew I might take the pill.
It started from the idea stage.
Although I am a newbie, I also know that not only the total traffic volume of urban cities is larger, but also in terms of statistical ratio, urban entertainment readers have a higher tolerance for literary elements. (Well, in fact, the relevant settings of this book
It’s just an appearance or a big foreshadowing, but in the early stage, it did appear as a copy element, so I won’t spoil it here.)
And if I choose this way, it means that as a music professional article, urban entertainment readers with the most accurate market audience may not have the chance to see it.
Readers who like Western fantasy, epics, swords and magic, or tentacled slime monsters will be dissuaded once again when they enter from the fantasy recommendation section and see that the protagonist plays the piano and then becomes a conductor, emmm what the hell?...
But I just got stubborn.
Since I am writing about classical music, I must write in that golden age when the humanistic atmosphere was rich, masters emerged one after another, music theory flourished, and gentlemen and ladies sat down to discuss music! No other background can surpass it in my heart!
And if the category of mysticism is abandoned, then in the later stages of the novel, when there is some in-depth discussion of art, we can only emptyly list "tears", "burning", "so sublime", "music is so sacred" and "art is so great"
"The brilliance of divinity", "the master is immortal" and other keywords are boring!
Just pounce, if there is no one, then there will be no one, the man from science and engineering is so stubborn!
Only such a journey can carry the dream of classical music in my heart.
So I threw away all the previous outlines and rewrote them.
Under such a change, I began to study the steampunk worldview, the life and background of the Victorian era, began to collect information on mysticism, and began to learn from the occult, esotericism, Cthulhu, Gnostic, etc.
Based on the world view and writing techniques, I re-wrote an outline of 10,000 words, while the previous urban outline only had 1,000 words.
It's such a sequence. I have never been exposed to these following worldview elements before, and I learned them from scratch.
On the contrary, when it comes to music, I don't have to add any additional knowledge. Many things are already ingrained in me.
I am also grateful to Mr. Canaan of the second editorial team for being willing to accept such a book about Fusion Monsters. When discussing the title and introduction of the book, Mr. Cana said that it touched on his knowledge blind spot. (So what the hell did I write?)
Although my final thought was very strong at the time, after the book was issued and signed, my mentality was still very complicated.
The two states of mind intertwined back and forth: for a while I thought I should let myself go and just focus on finishing the book. Anyway, I don’t rely on this to make a living. Readers and other things are just floating clouds! For a while I thought, would it be particularly bad or weird?
Ah, is there no one watching? What should I do if the data stretches my crotch? Is there anyone who can save this poor timid orange?
Can it also be regarded as a traditional artistic skill for new authors?
But I also tried to deeply analyze my own heart:
There is no doubt about the dream world and story. The updates may be affected by the status from time to time during the writing process, but the desire to complete the book is the driving force deep in my heart.

The estimated word count for the first volume is 30W. The current pace is generally within my control, and the progress is close to 2/3. In the end, the word count may exceed 0-10%.
In terms of updates, I will continue to write two chapters a day starting from tomorrow, but I will not relax my writing requirements for the sake of perfection. Even more subsidy standards are not as important as the perfectionism in my heart.
