Chapter 1095 A sea of corpses

The area the Astral Knight chooses to attack may not be the location with the most enemies, but it must be the place with the deepest corruption.

In fact, the entire Attica Hive had been completely eroded by the power of Nurgle before it was bombed, and even large-scale orbital bombing could not completely erase this erosion.

Glittery blue-black vines sprouted from the cracks in the ground, and most of the area was covered with a layer of wet green mold. The implants squirmed in contaminated growth, or buzzed through vague wings.

Too thick air.

A sickly blue light radiates from the fungi, clustering randomly in corners that the bombing cannot reach.

The formation of the entire battle group has dispersed, and the three assault teams are at the forefront, forming an arc of protection in front of the command team, aiming their weapons at any enemies that may appear.

Each of the assault team has two soldiers armed with flamethrowers, two veterans each equipped with powerful melta guns, and the rest armed with roaring chainswords and bolters. This is what they expect for close combat.

An ideal weapon.

It is by relying on this terrible force that mankind has brought the entire galaxy under its feet.

Soshyan led the command team into the battlefield. The Holy Flame Sword burned a fierce red in his right hand, and the gorgeous melt pistol gave off a dim flash in his left hand.

Talos stood next to him, holding a chainsaw halberd in both hands, while Luko and Yazdan followed closely, one holding a plasma pistol and the other holding a melta pistol. The priest also held the scepter tightly.

clutching the ground to his chest.

In front of the queue, a pile of corpses began to move.

Then, one of the dead rebels retracted his arms and straightened awkwardly, revealing the horrific wounds covering his torso and neck.

The dead soldier's face was slack, his mouth opened wide, and his eyes shone a mysterious green.

Soon, another corpse started to move, and so did the rest of the corpses, until the whole pile began to shake.

The entire battlefield was suddenly filled with swollen, rotting corpses, men, women, old and young, some wearing gray workers' uniforms, some wearing militia uniforms, their slimy faces twisted with expressions of pain or fear, covered by patches of mold and squirming corpses.

Covered in maggots, many people's limbs were replaced by small pieces of skin or broken bones.

However, the horror hidden under their rotting bodies is far more terrifying than this——

The Chaos Lord of the Black Legion, ‘Slug’ Lex, has transformed all of Attica’s original millions of residents into some kind of zombie-like existence!

As a captain of the original Death Guard, Lex is well versed in various zombie plagues. Once infected by those plagues, most mortals will become unconscious, walking corpses, with rotting veins sprouting under paper-thin skin.

Soaking, only a shot in the head or dismemberment is the only way to get rid of this pain, and those infected will gather together and look for any uninfected creature, because that means there is fresh and plump flesh available.

Eat well.

As tens of thousands of corpses began to stagger toward the stunned Astartes, the sharp-eyed Soshyan discovered more than twenty unique individuals that were swollen and squirming.

They were once humans, but their bones have softened and their muscles have stretched, and their shapes bear little resemblance to humans, with only their weak, twisted limbs and twisted, pained faces revealing what they once looked like.

In the bodies of those individuals, Soshyan could clearly see twisted black bugs, curled up in the jelly-like bodies of the infected, and as they matured, they continued to fly out of the pustules and facial features of the infected.

Very disgusting.

"Focus on attacking those unique mutant individuals. I have marked their characteristics and try to destroy them with incendiary weapons!"

Soshyan gave the order, and then, led by the fire-breathing Land Raider, the commandos entered the wide, fungus-filled passage.

The zombies rushed towards them from three sides. The enemy showed preliminary mastery of tactics and tried to divide the Space Marine formation from different directions.

They made almost no sound as countless rotting corpses staggered out of the corners, attacking the front of the advancing assault force and trying to block the Astartes' advance from both sides.

The flames hissed, the passage filled with hot promethium, and bullets whizzed by from all directions, hitting the advancing corpses in the head.

The Astartes continued to fire, creating a fire separation line.

The corpses try to hold back the warriors in sheer numbers, almost literally stretching out.

The chainsword roared, cutting off limbs, tearing corpses apart, and decapitating heads.

But there is always more to come.

The Emperor's angels stood side by side, not yielding an inch to the corpses.

In the center of the group, Soshyan shouted encouragement to his warriors and brought down body after body with his pistol. Talos also joined the battle with his own chainsaw and halberd, inflicting terrible damage on the enemy.

casualties.

The battle lasted for a long time, and the zombie tide put increasing pressure on the Astartes——

"Call for bombing!"

Ten minutes later, anger pierced the clouds, and the light spear from the Eternal Loyalty struck down.

Within a few seconds, a pillar of fire connected the earth and the sky. The sound of thunder was heard a moment after the striking light arrived, and the world trembled with the burst of energy and the purifying rumble of destruction.

Iron fists descended from the sky, bombarding the enemy.

Almost at the same time, the salvo ended and the fire disappeared, leaving behind a dim glow, like a blue scar left by dawn.

But the thunder did not stop, it continued, the sound became louder and louder, and finally turned into a huge wave.

The crackling sound of energy did not stop, and the air was filled with the smell of ozone.

Fire broke out among the corpses, which was an expansion of the destructive power of the light spear strike.

The fiery scream, intense and concentrated, penetrated the clouds, the sky glowed with orange light, and the clouds boiled with ecstatic rage.

Finally, the explosion stopped, the work was completed, and the anger in the sky turned into crimson blood.

Then, inevitably, the pressure begins to wane.

The commandos began to advance forward, their weapons hissing as they cooled, and the air filled with smoke and the stench of burnt flesh.

The command team followed the leading assault team and advanced along a carpet of burning ruins and torn earth. The scene of carnage was unbearable. Less than a hundred meters away, Soshyan found himself walking on

On a courtyard full of broken corpses.

In a few places, his boots sank into a pile of blood and bones, almost to the knees.

But the Astartes continued to advance relentlessly, trampling their enemies beneath their feet.

Then, without warning, the aisle widened in front and turned into a huge square, filled with supernatural energy.
