Chapter 146 The Destruction of Gages

"Let's all die..."

Before the green-skinned giant was about to die, he suddenly let out a hoarse laugh.

Then, with his last breath, he sent a remote signal.

What followed was a violent tremor in the earth, and everything under Soshyan's feet seemed to fall apart.

"This alien must have activated some self-destruction program. We have to leave as soon as possible!"

Just as Thor spoke, the ground beneath their feet began to twist and deform.

The several-meter-thick steel floor was torn apart like paper. Violent and greasy steam shot out from every crack in the floor. The solid walls of the hall began to collapse inward, and large pieces of debris rained down.

Fell from the ceiling.

In the next few seconds, the ground began to crack, and the greenskin who lost his balance fell into the huge crack, falling towards the fiery core of the broken world.

"Quick! All personnel retreat! Evacuate to the landing point!"

Knowing that something bad was going on, Soshyan immediately led the team back along the original path. No matter what the alien did, their nest would definitely be destroyed.

Either by themselves, or by fleets in orbit.

As they moved, the earthquakes became more and more severe. If the Astartes had not had magnetic locks on their boots, they would have been unable to stand long ago.

But even so, their actions seemed to be faltering.

While running, Soshyan saw the tall towers around him that were used as position generators collapsing one after another, like toppled building blocks, and smashing the buildings below into pieces.

A long time ago, he witnessed a layer of slums being demolished by blasts.

The tall pyramid-shaped hive city is simply a landfill piled up into mountains. It has stood in that river valley for sixty generations. The residents and protesters entrenched in it were finally driven out by the planetary governor.

A highly valuable refinery will take its place.

With the efforts of engineers, fixed-point blasting turned the entire huge building into a landslide. Countless houses collapsed suddenly, and the buildings were piled up like playing cards.

The destruction that shook the earth and the deafening roar stunned Soshyan, who was already an Astartes.

But what alarmed him most was the amount of dust thrown up when the slums were annihilated.

But that scene was nothing compared to now.

It seemed as if entire continental plates were beginning to disintegrate, scattering trillions of tons of rubble and debris into the chasm.

The noise and tremors merged into one, indistinguishable, and together they smeared their vision into a hazy state.

The orange-yellow bricks and beams exploded into clouds of flour-like dust that covered the sky, forming a curtain wall in the sky.

Even Thor felt this desperate urgency and quickened his pace with a heavy expression.

In order to ensure that the team could leave safely and quickly, Soshyan asked Sol to lead the way, while he stood behind the team to prevent any accidents.

The team quickly rushed towards the tall buildings where they had been.

Their return journey is quickly turning into a violent landslide trap, and everything is forced to escape into that terrifying bottomless pit.

Suddenly, there was another violent tremor, and Soshiyang was caught off guard and almost fell down.

When he raised his head, he found that the ground in front of him was rising high, and he was in an upward climbing posture.

Amidst the deafening roar, a huge boulder that once belonged to a certain building rushed towards him. It must have been this huge stone that made an important contribution to the final collapse of the ground.

Facing the unstoppable boulder, Soshyan jumped up quickly to prevent himself from being crushed into a long blood stain on the floor.

He barely landed on the top of the stone, holding tightly the broken base of a stone sculpture with both hands. Although this also made the base overwhelmed, he was able to gain a foothold.

The rocks continued to slide.

He stabilized his steps, leaped again, and landed on the sloping platform behind the boulder.

In order to prevent the platform from overturning, he hurriedly climbed up, while the soldiers who had arrived at a relatively safe area looked at him nervously.

They were still yelling something, but the noise was so loud that Soshyan couldn't hear anything.

Fine rubble hit his shoulders and helmet from time to time. One of the rubble was so powerful that it left a crack on the left side of his goggles and made him dizzy for a while.

The roar of the earth shattering gradually reached its climax, and he slammed into something like a headless fly, and then discovered that it was a wall.

"Up! Up!"

Thor's roar sounded, and Soshyan instinctively stretched out his hand, and sure enough he grabbed something.

Then he exerted force and pulled himself up.

This is a relatively intact area, and the team is right in front, but there is a widening gap between them.

Soshyan didn't even think about it, just accelerated and jumped up.

Before one of his feet could hit the ground, a strong arm grabbed his shoulder armor and dragged him up.

"Thank you."

Nodding towards Sol, Soshyan looked back.

Most of the structure of the energy node they fought at previously was gone, leaving only a bit of broken concrete interspersed with broken steel bars and exposed cables.

The dust raised by this scene of destruction covered the sky and turned into a strange flour-like haze in the air.

And the location they were in was just a ruined platform less than two meters wide at most, allowing everyone to survive and stand on it without falling into the bottomless abyss.

All the Astartes were huddled here, their armor covered in yellowish dust.

"Thunder Eagle! Thunder Eagle is coming!"

Suddenly, Armin's excited voice sounded, and Soshyan looked up and saw the Obsidian Legacy slowly descending from the sky, and its hatch had been opened.

In the end, with the foresight prepared by the technical sergeants, all the soldiers safely evacuated the ground.

This was a very successful operation without any loss of life.

When they ascended into space, Soshyan noticed that the huge void shield had disappeared, which meant that the fleet's destruction plan would soon be carried out.

But what should they do if they are harassed by the Ork fleet?

Soon, the fleet commander gave Soshyan an unexpected answer.

He plans to use the greenskins' own weapons against him.

After most of the troops on the ground were evacuated, the squadron used a series of sizable bombardments to push a meteorite assault ship that had been basically completed by the Greenskins out of a stable orbit.

It dragged behind it a large mass of fragmented metal debris, shining in the dazzling light, crossing the surface of the vast orange world, like a miniature twin brother tightly tethered by the tentacles of gravity.

This crude weapon made by green skins finally embarked on the path of inevitable destruction after eight revolutions.

The large amounts of debris ejected from it have left behind fine brown tracks around the planet, just like the graceful rings around those giant gas planets.

Soon, the frictional resistance of the atmosphere ignited the surface of the meteorite and began to eat away at its overall structure.

It also shone brightly, like an iron ingot in a furnace, first dark red, then bright pink, and finally white hot.

Both the arc path of its fall and the steady contraction of its orbit are appetizingly slow.

It's like a shooting star.

After people waited long enough, it hit the greenskin's large stronghold city with a bang.

A fleeting light suddenly flashed, and then turned into a rapidly spreading blazing glow, as if a star was rising from beneath the ground.

Immediately afterwards, the brilliance continued to expand, spreading in all directions like a blazing dome that could not be seen directly, causing everything around it to instantly vaporize, uprooting the majestic tower with a devastating force.

The violent impact also produced a deadly pulse of infrared radiation.

The huge amount of dust and atomized sulfuric acid that rose into the sky left a dirty black cloud in the atmosphere. When the fireball hit the ground, it exploded and splashed with hot debris, which then rained down, adding to the raging firestorm that swept the earth.

On the boarding deck of the Starfire, there were several giant screens used to broadcast mission briefings. All the soldiers involved in the operation saw the fatal blow that penetrated the enemy's body.

Servants and deck workers also gathered around, some of them holding tools or rags, or even repairing half-cleaned weapons and firearms.

As I watched the meteorite fall slowly, there was almost silence everywhere except for a few impatient murmurs.

The moment the impact finally occurred, the Astartes burst into life.

They stamped their armored feet and beat their breastplates with their fists.

"Destroy the aliens!!"

Nothing makes them happier than seeing the enemy of mankind destroyed, and even Soshyan is no exception.
