Chapter 609 The Secret of the First Legion

"We have entered the sphere of influence of the planet's gravity well!"

The interrogating chaplain turned around, walked across the bridge, and stood behind the helm.

The mechanic quickly glanced at the interrogating priest, and after learning of his arrival, he turned his attention back to driving the Savior.

"How far is it to Vera Three?"

The interrogating priest asked, his harsh voice mixed with a metallic component.

"About twenty-five million kilometers, Reverend Sir."

Ericon nodded.

"Communication station, contact the Astral Knight's battleship to see if they respond."

The interrogating priest then strode towards the communications station.

"There is interference from part of the asteroid belt here, Pastor, but I think... yes, we received a signal and the other party agreed to the communication request."

The liaison officer breathed a sigh of relief. Every time the priest came near, they would be very nervous.

Ericon then turned on the main communicator.

"This is the Angel of Redemption. I am Interrogation Chaplain Ericon Goldberg. Please answer."

The interrogating priest paused and waited for a moment, but all he received was a burst of static.

"Communication station, are you sure we have a strong enough signal to connect?"

Ericon Goldberg asked, with a hint of impatience in his metallic voice.

"Yes, Pastor, we--"

The communications officer's reply was interrupted by a sudden voice.

"This is the Unbound Soul. I am Lothar of the Astral Knights. Welcome, His Excellency Ericon Goldberg, the interrogation priest of the Dark Angels."

A strange voice suddenly came from the intercom of the communication station.

"Hello, brothers of the Astral Knights, I hope our sudden visit did not cause you any trouble."

"In fact, we are indeed surprised, because our battle group is performing a mission and did not know that you would also visit here."

A strange smile appeared on Ericon's face.

"No, we are not here to visit."

"Oh? I don't quite understand what you mean."

"We are here to meet with Soshyan Alexey, the Chapter Leader of the Astral Knights Chapter. We have a few questions to ask."

"Huh? But...how did you know that the Chapter Master is here?"

Before Ericon could answer, the voice on the other end of the communicator suddenly became nervous.

"You have been following us!?"

At this time, the nervous voice of the Lord of Chasing came from the console.

"Report! The opponent's void shield and weapon array are activated! And they have started to lock on us!"

"Brother Lothar, please don't be nervous, we don't mean any harm."

After signaling with his hand not to activate the weapon array in response, the interrogation priest said to the communicator in a gentle tone:

"We just wanted to speak with Chapter Master Soshyan."

At first, the communicator didn't reply.

About three minutes later, Lothar's cold voice came.

"The Chapter Master is not on the ship, he is performing a mission on the ground."

"Then can I visit him in person, with only five people, and our ship will stay in orbit."

Then there was another moment of silence.

But this time the interrogation pastor was not in a hurry. He knew that the other party must be in contact with the ground.

About ten minutes later, the response came.

"The Chapter Master agrees."

"Thank you so much."

After turning off the communicator, the interrogation priest turned around and left the command deck, and said to a soldier wearing a burqa beside him:

"Gather five people and follow me to the flight deck."

"yes"

In the canyon on the ground, Soshyan was standing next to a hill where green-skinned corpses were piled up. A warrior was using a flamethrower to roast the mountain of corpses.

The air was filled with the spicy smell of blood and spores, so much so that many people's breathing filters were clogged. The soldiers were doing their best to deal with the battlefield, but there were too many greenskin corpses and they were too broken.

Not far away, the remains of the original starship were still smoking, its main frame had been baked black, and the surrounding attached structures had been turned into scattered parts and fragments.

After turning off the communicator, Soshyan's expression became very strange.

"The Dark Angel is coming."

"It's those sons of bitches again!"

Talos snorted, not hiding his contempt and insult.

"How did they get here?"

"According to Lothar, the other party should have been following us very early."

"Fuck! Have they not changed their stalker habits in ten thousand years?"

"Why do you think they did this?"

Feeling the heat of the flames around him, Soshyan led Talos to the edge of the battlefield so that their conversation would not attract the attention of others.

"At least it's not for me."

"I know that."

To be honest, Soshiyan is very unfamiliar with the Dark Angels. He has only seen some information and records about them in the chapter archives. However, the First Legion is famous for its mystery and cannot be seen in the public information at all.

What happened?

However, he did know that since the outbreak of the Great Rebellion, the First Legion had been entangled with the Eighth Legion, basically throughout the entire process of the Great Rebellion.

Therefore, Talos should be very familiar with them or understand them very well.

"That's why I asked you to see your opinion."

Talos was silent for a while, and then said softly:

"I'm afraid it has something to do with those fallen angels."

"Fallen angel?"

As Soshiyang thought, the mysterious emblem that appeared in the Battle of New Badab suddenly popped into his mind. It seemed that that was the symbol of the Fallen Angel.

"What exactly are Fallen Angels? Are they just rebels? Are they worthy of their persistence? If I remember correctly, almost every legion has traitors. Over the past ten thousand years, how many Sons of Guilliman have fallen into darkness without seeing the limit.

Are there warriors chasing you all over the world?"

"Tch, do you really think they are just chasing traitors? They are just trying to cover up a big lie."

Talos looked at Soshyan and said in a serious tone:

"But don't show it in front of those sons of bitches. You know what? Those bastards are very neurotic."

"What's that big lie?"

"I can't tell. I probably only know that it is related to the destruction of Caliban and the original body, but their organizational structure itself contains huge secrets."

"How to say?"

"The organizational structure of the First Legion is very different from that of all other legions. Their main body is called the 'Six Wings'. In Terran, it should be called the six divisions, namely the Dread Wing, the Storm Wing, the Raven Wing, and the Steel Wing.

, Firewing and Deathwing

However, the command level within the Six Wings is not fixed.

Definitely, they have at least two secret command levels above the six wings. These command structures are layered together. If you are not a senior veteran of the First Army, you can't figure out who is commanding whom."

Soshyan thought for a while, but couldn't grasp the key.

"Is this a secret?"

"No, it doesn't count. I know the story of Guilliman splitting up the Legion, but do you know that after the First Legion was split up, their sub-legions were still able to pursue traitors all over the world in unison."

"Is there such a thing?"

"If this was the case at the beginning, it would be understandable, but ten thousand years have passed, and those sub-groups are still carrying out the order to kill the fallen angels when they were founded. Don't you find it strange?"

"You mean...Although the First Army seems to have been split up, in fact they still retain a secret command layer that controls all sub-groups?"

Talos smiled noncommittally.
