Chapter 801 Santiaro

Standard Terran calendar, 944.M41,

Maelstrom area, planet Santiaro

Bliss Hotel, one of the best hotels in One-Eyed City, is located next to the downtown building complex.

This planet has been out of the empire's jurisdiction for hundreds of years. It is ostensibly run by a local guild, but is actually a pirate lair. Every day, pirate ships loaded with stolen goods enter the planet's orbit, and every day, countless hungry sharks leave their lair.

.

As one of the worlds secretly controlled by the red pirate Huron, the law of the tyrant is implemented here——

Anyone can come, even Imperial people, but no one is allowed to cause trouble. After paying the parking tax, you can do whatever you want.

This is also the most cunning thing about Huron. Even if he betrays the empire, he will still not completely take sides. He will always leave room for leeway and will always leave a gray area that does not distinguish between black and white. This is what distinguishes him from

One thing about all Chaos Space Marines is that they are not blinded by so-called hatred and belief.

There is a huge black market here, a huge killer guild, and auctions where you can buy many precious items. Here you can find many psychic treasures that cannot be legally held by the empire, and you can also hire powerful psychics and even

Alien mercenaries, as long as you can afford the price, can even be hired by renegade Space Marines.

This is a paradise for adventurers, but also a hell for many people, because the weak will not really get any protection here——

The hotel bar has glittering mirrors on the walls and a smoke-filled interior.

The old pirate Sayaf Moore is here telling others the story of how a Rogue Trader ship was destroyed.

The stories he told were immersive and fascinated the audience. The old man smoked a cigar, blew out smoke rings, and from time to time made a few gestures and made some sounds to enhance the audibility of the story.

People sitting around the table laughed and cursed from time to time.

However, Sam Bellamy just watched, silent.

In the eyes of outsiders, he is always silent, but his silence can make others surrender.

But no one knows that he also had a name in the past - Sorge.

When his master Iskandar Kayan was captured by the Astral Knights, Soshyan gave him freedom as promised, but that freedom came at a price - his abilities would not be wasted, and he would still be a member of the Astral Knights.

, serving the empire.

It just means that in the process of service, he is free.

Sorge has already been mentally prepared for this. He knows that people like him will not have real freedom, only relative freedom.

In fact, from the moment he knew that his master was not dead, he knew that he would never be able to escape.

Therefore, he followed Soshyan's suggestion and came to the Maelstrom Star Area. He started from scratch and in less than five years, he became a well-known second-level dealer and part-time pirate in the area, and owned a ship named "Obsidian".

A modified pirate ship.

Because of his cunning and silence, outsiders gave him the nickname "Silent Fox". He personally had nothing to say about it, but in a place like this, having a nickname also means that others recognize you and that you are truly

Entering "that" circle.

On the stage, a cute, almost naked, mixed-race cat girl was dancing to the drums of the band, but Sorge didn't even look at her.

His eyes scanned the surroundings, looking at everyone present. Most of them were pirates, and a few were mercenary leaders and smugglers.

At the far end of the room, beneath a gilded oil painting depicting the marching Imperial Titans, he saw a group of guys dressed in purple with chrome trim and face makeup.

They call themselves the "Bringers of Rapture" and are a cult that worships the evil god Slaanesh. Their master is the Chaos warband "The Rapture", and they have only recently arrived in this world.

Among these people, there was a tall, thin man with scars on his face caused by acid corrosion.

Sorge is quite familiar with him. Diongo Dubey is a pirate captain who once had a conflict with Sorge. Unexpectedly, the other party actually joined the Slaanesh cult.

Their eyes stared at each other for several seconds, and the extended intersection was as warm as two automatic rangefinders aiming at each other.

Sorge cursed himself silently. If he had known that this guy was here, he would not have come here.

But there is no way, his target is this group of people.

He had to find out why Huron allowed people from the Slaanesh cult to enter his territory, and whether there was any secret agreement between the two.

"This lord?"

Hearing the sound, Sorge raised his head and saw a uniformed concierge standing next to his chair, his head tilted, looking both flattering and disgusting.

"Sir, there is a boy looking for you."

"boy?"

Sorge thought for a moment and suddenly realized who it was.

"Where is he?"

"The boy is at the front desk and has something to tell you personally. He wants me to give this to you."

The concierge continued, weighing a silver earring with velvet-gloved fingers suspiciously, and then handed it to Sorge.

Sorge nodded, stood up and followed the concierge.

The mixed-race cat girl on the stage finally took off the last piece of fabric on her body, and was about to spin the shiny piece of cloth in her hands and throw it into the crowd.

Diango watched Sorge walk out of the room. He gracefully bent his fingers, motioning for his accomplice to come closer.

"Sam is the bastard I mentioned before. He is a dangerous person of unknown origin. We should get rid of him."

Sorge followed the arrogant concierge out of the room and walked into the marble-paved foyer.

He hates this place more and more. Santiaro is a place of comfort and luxury, far away from the war. After paying taxes to Huron, the people here completely ignore the cruel and dark reality outside their planet and life.

Later, Sorge returned to reality from his meditation and saw a twelve-year-old boy huddled under a potted Ouroboros tree.

The boy was wearing a baggy newsboy uniform and looked unhappy.

"Ike? I thought you went out to play. What are you doing here?"

With an expression of surprise, Sorge stepped forward, grabbed the boy's hand and left the hall. They turned directly to a nearby alley.

Then the boy took out a small data pad from his thigh pocket and handed it to Sorge.

"This came through the communication network after you left. Uncle Melk thought it was best to hand this to you directly. Since I was hired by you, it is my task to bring this to you."

Sorge was amused by the boy's impatient tone. He took the dataslate and opened it.

"What's this?"

"Sir, as far as I know, this is a private communication transmitted through an encrypted communication channel over forty minutes."

The boy paused, thinking about the time.

"To be precise, it should have been 47 minutes ago."

Sorge scanned the encrypted garbled code on the data board, then pressed his finger on the decoding button and used his fingerprint to decode it.

This is indeed news that only he can see personally.

"Patricia is right here. Go to No. 514 Ghost Street and use our old code. There will be a very important message."

Sorge suddenly raised his head, and then quickly closed the data pad as if he was afraid that the secret would be discovered.

Patricia, an old friend of his, a tipster and low-level psyker whom they hadn't seen since that adventure in the asteroid field...
