Chapter VII Privy Council Meeting, Confidentiality Agreement

Early the next morning, Peter got up at the normal time. When he walked out of the dormitory, he found that several people were already waiting.

Seeing these people, Peter couldn't help but smile.

One is the Minister of General Affairs Vorontsov, the other is the Deputy Minister of General Affairs Bestudev, the other is the Speaker of the Parliament Prince Nikita Trubetskoi, and the Army Lieutenant General Aprakhin, who once served as

Passed by Bestudev's assistant.

Another person who is a bit unexpected is the mysterious office director Ivanovich.

"Ivanovich, hello."

Seeing Ivanovich, Peter greeted him with a smile and strode forward.

Just as Ivanovich was about to return the favor to Peter, he left, feeling a little embarrassed.

But now he dare not say anything, Peter is now His Majesty.

After walking for a while, Peter gradually slowed down and said:

"Are you still working in the same place?"

Vorontsov immediately said:

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Peter nodded: "In that case, let's continue like this."

"Ivanovich, please invite Romanosov, Andnov, and Prince Daliye of the Yusupov family."

"yes."

Ivanovich bowed and saw that Peter had no other instructions for the time being, so he went.

When they heard Peter calling these people, the faces of those present couldn't help but look slightly strange.

Without exception, these four people were all close to Peter when he was crown prince. Is it possible that His Majesty will appoint new ministers as soon as he ascends the throne?

So what should they do?

Bestudev is even more worried. The thing he is most worried about now is the new emperor's attitude towards Prussia.

Queen Elizabeth has turned her back again. What should Peter do if he gives the order?

Peter followed a few people to the Privy Council again.

The last time I came here, I borrowed serfs from Vorontsov but failed. Vorontsov secretly looked at Peter's face, but couldn't see anything, and couldn't help but regret it.

I would have known that the Crown Prince would become the Emperor so quickly, and judging from how Bestudev and Adrian met with the Queen, the Queen has great trust in Her Majesty.

This means that without the Queen's intervention, Peter is actually the only emperor.

"Your Majesty, last time I..."

Vorontsov gritted his teeth, walked a few steps faster, and followed Peter, even if the other ministers could hear him, he didn't care.

The king's words will make the constitution, and the words will make it law. First, the emperor will be excused, so that the emperor can have some face.

"No need to say anything. Let's talk about it later if we have anything to do."

Peter said something and continued walking forward.

After passing through the Painting Palace and the Amber Palace, Peter stopped at a place, which was a medium-sized palace with some paintings hanging on the walls.

His has already been hung up.

In front of him were Empress Elizabeth, Anna I, Peter II, Catherine I, and Peter the Great.

This is an emperor's wall. Seeing this, even if I felt different yesterday, the impact was not as strong as this time.

A very ordinary wall, a very ordinary road, but he is now the emperor.

The empire that rules the largest territory in the world sits on the throne of Peter the Great. Once his signature is placed on a legal document, it will become law. The life and death of more than 16 million subjects depend on his decision...

When he thought of this, Peter's heart surged.

After passing two long corridors, with guards guarding the door of each corridor, Peter led his ministers in.

This was the first time he came to the place where the Privy Council often holds meetings. He took a quick look and saw that the room was not big, only about ninety square meters. There was a long conference table.

The only thing that makes people feel like this is a palace is the luxurious decorations and the solemn atmosphere.

After Peter sat down, he glanced at the seats of the others.

Vorontsov was the first one who sat next to him, then Bestudev, and on the other side sat Speaker Trubetskoy and Lieutenant General Aprakshin.

The eyes of these people were looking at him, and the atmosphere was a bit strange. Bestudev's expression was not sure whether it was just like that or not, but it was serious.

Vorontsov smiled apologetically and said:

"Your Majesty, would you like to start your report now?"

Peter smiled and said:

"Wait a minute."

Several people present passed by in his mind. Although no one was perfect, none of them rebelled and surrendered to the enemy. This made him very happy. What was more important was that they were all Russians.

As for whether he has any opinion against him, he doesn't care at all. This will take time to prove.

Not long after, Ivanovich arrived with three people.

Darier's face was flushed and he looked excited. When he came in, he bowed deeply to Peter:

"Your Majesty, it is a great honor to be summoned by you. May your Majesty be safe!!!"

Daliye is an honorary duke and has no actual position. If calculated, his importance is about the same as that of Romanosov and Andnov, two fifth-class civil servants.

Romanosov and Andnov also saluted him.

The two people looked a little confused and uneasy. They didn't know what Peter, who had become the emperor, asked them to do.

This is the Privy Council, the most important institution in the country!

"You three, please take a seat."

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

At Peter's signal, Darier sat next to the lieutenant general, and Romanosov and Andnov sat opposite him.

And Ivanovich sat on the edge of the lieutenant general's side, probably due to an occupational disease, with a somewhat dissociated attitude.

Peter took a look and said nothing. After a moment of silence, he looked around the crowd and said:

"Guys, can I trust you?"

Several people looked at each other, wondering what the emperor meant. When Peter was crowned emperor, everyone had already sworn allegiance.

Vorontsov spoke first:

"Your Majesty, of course you can trust me. I am your last and most loyal minister!"

Peter smiled, nodded, and then looked at Bestudev.

Bestudev had no choice but to nod and said:

"I am loyal to the Russian Empire and His Majesty!"

Then everyone expressed their stance one by one. As soon as the expression was over, Peter took out the paper he had prepared and distributed it to everyone one by one from the long conference table.

It already has his signature on it.

Peter spoke:

"Gentlemen, you are all important ministers of the country. National affairs are kept secret in this room. If you leave this door, whoever dares to leak the secret will be severely punished, including but not limited to the exile of the whole family. In serious cases, I will reinstate the death penalty. The vilification comes first.

This agreement merely guarantees your loyalty and confidentiality."

"If there's no problem, please sign."

Peter went outside in person to ask for pen and ink.

I couldn't help but sigh in my heart, now that I don't have anyone I can trust, I have to do this myself.

The ministers couldn't help but look at each other, and then looked at the agreement on the parchment. It was indeed the same as what the emperor said.

Only loyalty and confidentiality.

Ivanovich was the first to sign, followed by Dalia and Vorontsov, followed by Romanosov and Andnov, who still looked confused and a little frightened.

Then Lieutenant General Aprakshin, Speaker Trubetskoy, and finally Bestudev.

Peter didn't care who came first. He took everything back, looked at it carefully, and then handed it to Ivanovich. What he said made Ivanovich's face change.
