Chapter 40: Hermione

The next afternoon, just after class, Michelle pulled Hermione and ran towards the library.

"Oops! Michelle, please walk slower, I...I'm a little scared."

"I'm just going to see John, what's there to be afraid of? John doesn't eat people."

Michelle said nonchalantly.

Hearing this, Hermione's face turned red.

After thanking Michelle last night, she thought about it for a long time alone in bed, and then decided to come over and say thank you to John in person today.

But when things came to a close, she was extremely nervous.

You must know that John had ridiculed and ridiculed her many times, and the relationship between her and John was extremely bad.

Before last night, Hermione would get furious just by looking at John.

But after what happened last night, Hermione's heart had changed.

She no longer worries about whether to violate school rules or not.

After all, if Michelle had not violated the school rules and came to look for her yesterday, she would have had a high probability of being eaten by the troll.

This change restored her relationship with Harry and Ron to their original state.

She also discovered that every time John would taunt her, it was basically because she had said something rude before.

This made her feel very guilty and even more nervous, fearing that John would still be brooding over those things and be angry with her when they met.

There were people coming and going in the corridor leading to the library, and many Slytherin students were loudly discussing John's battle with the troll last night.

Many students from other houses were attracted and listened to the Slytherins' stories with admiration on their faces.

Draco Malfoy even sang loudly the "Song of the Troll Killer" that he had just compiled for John last night. The tune was somewhat similar to the "Song of the Troll Killer", the only difference was that one

It was used to disparage Harry, and now this one is used to praise John.

As soon as Hermione heard John's name, she instinctively wanted to stop and listen to the song to the end.

But Michelle pulled her directly into the library.

Perhaps because it was still early and there weren't many people inside, Michelle and Hermione immediately spotted John sitting in the corner by the window.

"Let me just say that you can definitely find John when you come to the library, right?" Michelle said proudly, "Except for attending classes and working at Professor Snape's place every day, he basically stays here the rest of the time!"

Hermione didn't reply, staring directly at John.

Of course she knew what Michelle said.

After all, she always likes to run to the library when she has nothing to do.

But when she saw John in the library before, she would just say something bad to herself, and then find a place to sit far away from John.

But when I read it again today, I discovered that John is also so studious and loves reading. It turns out... they also have the same hobby.

This made Hermione a little excited.

At the same time, John also discovered the arrival of Michelle and Hermione.

Seeing the two people rushing to his side, John frowned and said:

"Michelle, I will not give you the troll's calf! That thing is not a toy that a little girl like you can play with!"

"You look down on people so much, John. I brought Hermione here to thank you this time!"

Michelle spoke and pushed Hermione.

"ah--"

Hermione yelled in a panic, and after reacting, she quickly bowed and said, "Thank you for your help last night, Mr. Shafik, ah, no, it's Mr. Shafik!"

After saying this, Hermione's little face turned red. The Weasley brothers usually called John Sir Shafiq all day long, but she heard too much, and she just started talking about it.

John glanced at Hermione and saw that her attitude was respectful and seemed to have changed her temper. Then he pointed to the seat opposite and said:

"You're welcome, it's just a little effort. Please sit down."

After hearing this, Hermione also quietly looked at John's face, and seeing that he was not angry or sarcastic, she sat down with Michelle in a somewhat reserved manner.

At this time, she finally saw the cover of the book in John's hand.

"The Biography of Link - Jungle Chapter"

"Yeah! Do you also like to read this book? This book records the adventures of the legendary wizard Link in the rain forest. It also describes hundreds of interesting herbs and animals. I remember there is one called '

Jumping toadstool' mushrooms, cut into pieces and juiced, the juice can be used to make potions!"

Hermione seemed to be too excited, and she spoke a long sentence all at once, grinning happily after she finished speaking.

She felt that her performance just now was great.

Starting with a common topic is definitely the best way to break the ice between strangers.

This is what her father said.

After hearing this, John said with a calm expression:

"Yes, I saw it. But I want to correct you. The correct way to process the 'beating toadstool' is not to squeeze the juice, but to collect the spores on its gills. Only its spores can be refined.

The value of it becomes a magic potion. As for its mushroom body, I think it would be a good choice to use it for cooking."

"This is impossible! "The Biography of Link - Jungle Chapter" clearly says..."

Hermione covered her mouth hard in the middle of her words.

She knew she was sick again, and whenever she heard someone say something wrong, she subconsciously refuted it.

"Yes...I'm sorry."

Hermione said weakly and lowered her head in grievance.

She felt that she must have messed up the meeting with John.

"What you said is actually correct. The book does say so." John shook his head and said, "But you have to be clear that what is recorded in the book is not necessarily correct. The reason why I said this before is because

I have practiced it. Practice is the only criterion for testing truth. You come from a Muggle family, so this sentence should be familiar to you, right?"

Hermione's little face turned even redder.

She knew that the last thing John said was probably a Muggle quote, but she had never heard it before.

This also made her admire John more and more.

The other party's level of knowledge simply exceeded Hermione's imagination.

"John! You are amazing!"

Hermione couldn't help but sigh.

After hearing this, John rolled his eyes.

He didn't know if it was because he and Snape had been quarreling with each other for too long, but he always felt that Hermione was trying to spite him by saying this.

But he has no evidence.

With a sigh, John threw the "The Biography of Link - Jungle Chapter" on the table.

The reason why he read this book was entirely because he had already started planning to go to the Forbidden Forest.

This matter has a high priority in John's plan, second only to continuing to refine the [Duel Wizard System].

After all, the Forbidden Forest can produce a large amount of extraordinary materials.

With a little refinement, these extraordinary materials can be turned into potions, which can be drank by John and turned into magic power to increase John's magical talent and strength.

As a young wizard who was born in the Muggle world and knew nothing about the extraordinary jungle, John felt that it was necessary to read some technical books and absorb some previous experience.

This "The Biography of Link - Jungle Chapter" is one of the skill books selected by John.

It's a pity that the guy named Link in the book is too fierce.

That guy's adventure in the jungle was almost entirely about crushing him, as if he was cheating.

It was difficult for John to absorb practical experience from this kind of 'adventure experience'.

Hermione looked at his gloomy look and asked hurriedly:

"Mr. Shafiq, are you encountering some problem? Is there anything I can do to help?"

John looked at Hermione, nodded and said:

"I now need a popular science book on jungle survival hunting or gathering. You have read many and miscellaneous books, so do you have any recommendations in this regard?"

As soon as these words came out, Hermione stood up and said excitedly:

"I haven't read many similar books, but I know a truly professional hunter! His name is Hagrid! I have a pretty good relationship with him. If you need it, I can take you directly to him for consultation!

"
