Chapter Twenty-Seven

The shadow of the moon is hazy, and night covers the earth.

When Chen Hai came out of his home, it was already past ten o'clock in the evening. After this period of delay, it was now almost midnight.

Picking up the broken tortoise shell in his hand, he looked over it over and over for a long time.

The tortoise shell is densely covered with lines.

I don't know whether these lines are naturally occurring or are artificially carved.

When he inadvertently poured the power of his soul into the tortoise shell, he suddenly discovered that the lines on it began to flicker faintly.

He was about to put the tortoise shell away and go home immediately, but stopped again.

He found a fairly flat stone nearby and sat down, and tried to infuse the power of his soul into the palm-sized broken tortoise shell again.

The tortoise shell itself does not emit any light.

What really shimmers is the lines on it.

Chen Hai tried for a long time, and he found that some of the lines were broken due to incomplete tortoise shells, resulting in incomplete lines and unable to form a cycle at all.

Such lines will only appear a little bright when he pours the power of his soul into them.

When he stops instilling soul power, this light will immediately go out.

And some other lines can be connected with other lines to form a complete cycle.

The more soul power Chen Hai poured into this kind of pattern, the brighter the light emitted by the pattern would be.

Even without his infusion of power, the light on the lines would last for a long time before slowly starting to fade away.

Suddenly discovering such a thing, Chen Hai also became very playful.

The pure soul power of the toad demon Gecko Mother was completely absorbed by him.

He could clearly feel that his level of strength had definitely taken a big step forward.

However, he is not completely sure whether he has entered the realm of day travel.

After all, he had no master to guide him along the way of cultivating Taoism, so he had to figure everything out on his own.

He simply couldn't figure out whether there were any early and middle stages in the realm of night travel? Or maybe there were such realm subdivisions as the later stages of perfection!

What if what he breaks through now is not the realm of day travel, but just from the early stage of night travel to the middle stage of night travel?

Perhaps, he can only experiment with his soul out of his body at dusk tomorrow.

Only then can he truly determine what state he is in now!

As for why the time was not chosen at noon or early in the morning, the reason was simple, because the afterglow of the setting sun was much softer in intensity compared to his soul body.

Even if his guess was wrong and he did not go on a day trip, the sunshine at that time would only make him weak for a while.

The broken tortoise shell in his hand, as the power of his soul continued to be injected into it, the lines on it became more and more radiant.

Those were still complete and formed a circular pattern. At this moment, they seemed to come alive.

Vaguely, Chen Hai seemed to notice that there seemed to be ancient seal characters on the tortoise shell, passing by in front of his eyes.

He has been studying the ancient seal script for quite some time.

One is the word ‘Kan’ and the other is the word ‘Bu’.

Chen Hai only recognized two of the ancient seals, and saw a flash of white light. The brilliance overflowed, and he looked at the extremely bright and incomplete tortoise shell, which suddenly turned from reality to reality.

Immediately afterwards, it turned into a pure white light, which went straight into the center of his eyebrows, and then disappeared.

"Kan, it's Kanyu, divination, it's divination!"

"How can this broken tortoise shell still be of such use?"

"I practice Taoism, and what I have always practiced is only the Dharma."

“Things I’ve come up with by myself are just gadgets that can’t be put on the market.

"But now, Kanyu and divination are based on the application of Dharma. This is a pure technique!"

Feeling that a lot of knowledge seemed to be pouring into his mind, Chen Hai felt happy and muttered to himself.

"The green trees are shaded, the three yangs are not shining, and the evil spirits gather in the pool. This is where the toad demon hides. This is a typical place where yin gathers!"

"Ordinary people will definitely be eroded by the Yin Qi if they stay in a place like this for a long time, and they will be in a trance and feel uneasy. If one person is not good, bad things will happen!"

"The toad demon is hiding here, but he is like a fish in water. He can cultivate his soul and get twice the result with half the effort."

"Perhaps, its chance is this broken tortoise shell."

"It is precisely because it gained a trace of inheritance from it that it found this place where Yin gathers, hid in it, and cultivated to this point!"

In my mind, I seemed to suddenly understand a lot of things.

Chen Hai's eyes just glanced at the pool not far away, and he had already seen many things that he could not see before.

Kan means the way of heaven; Yu means the way of earth.

Kan refers to heaven, Yu refers to earth, and Kan Yu science refers to the study of heaven and earth.

It is based on the Hetu and Luoshu, combined with the eight trigrams and nine stars and the restraint of yin and yang and the five elements, and completely integrates the movement of heaven, the circulation of earth's air, and the human beings among them.

The moment the incomplete tortoise shell turned into a white light and sank into Chen Hai's eyebrows.

Wherever he looked, he already understood the various changes in the land veins, mountain shapes, and water flow directions.

It was precisely for this reason that he was able to determine at a glance that the place where the toad demon was hiding was a relatively rare Yin Gathering Point.

It's a pity that the loss of his soul power seems to be a bit high when using this technique.

Just in this short period of time, a feeling of exhaustion from the soul surged directly into his heart.

Closing his eyes and meditating, he could clearly feel the incomplete tortoise shell that turned into white light and disappeared between his eyebrows.

On the original tortoise shell, the illuminated patterns were one on top and one on bottom, each forming a complete cycle.

Of these two cycles, the upper lines represent Kanyu, while the lower lines represent divination.

But now, the lines on the top of the tortoise shell have become dim again.

Before those lines were re-ignited with the power of the soul, Chen Hai could no longer use the art of Kanyu.

However, the method of divination is still intact.

Under the current situation, he has nothing to do and needs divination.

Hou Donggui's kind words and reminders to him were always remembered in his heart.

He didn't want to mess around and waste his luck when it wasn't necessary.

Besides, in an old Taoist book he bought at a street stall before, he seemed to have seen that people who can do divination usually predict others rather than themselves.

If he is so reckless and makes divination for himself, he can easily get into big trouble!

After using the technique of Kanyu, he felt a little exhausted.

After thinking about it, he suppressed the curiosity in his heart for the time being. He no longer wanted to try divination again.

Bracing himself up, he walked quickly in the direction of his home.

When he returned to his home, he lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep as soon as he closed his eyes.
