Chapter 94 Golden League

The IAAF Golden League started in 1998.

The reason why it is called the league is because the IAAF connected several independent competitions in Europe at that time.

In addition to the bonuses given to the winners at each station, a 50 kilogram pure gold ingot is also set as a reward for the entire league, which is shared by the undefeated players at each station, hence the name Golden League.

As the saying goes, there must be brave men under great rewards. Since 1998, with the promotion of the IAAF, the Golden Race has become the most important series of events in the international track and field every year. The top male and female athletes in each event are competing for the 50 kilograms of gold.

Fight hard.

In the five years from 1998 to 2003, the Golden League set up seven competitions in Europe every year, namely in Rome, Italy, Oslo, Norway, Paris, France, Berlin, Germany, Zurich, Switzerland, Brussels, Belgium, and Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Each competition has 6 events for men and women, a total of 12 events, and the events will be different every year.

Before 2002, only players who won more than 5 individual championships out of 7 events were eligible to share the 50 kilograms of gold. In 2001, 6 people won this honor.

In 2002, the IAAF increased the difficulty and stipulated that only athletes who won all seven events could share the gold. In the end, four people won the award.

In 2003, the IAAF reduced the scale of the competition, canceled the Monte Carlo station, and reduced the seven-station event to six. It was stipulated that only athletes who won all six stations and won the finals could share the gold.

In 2006, the Golden League will start in Bergen, Norway, on June 18, and will be held in Rome (July 2), Paris (July 23), Zurich (August 6), and Brussels (September).

3) and Berlin (September 12).

Athletes who win all six events will participate in the IAAF Golden League Finals to be held in Mona from September 18th to September 19th, and will eventually participate in the distribution of gold awards.

The events set in 2006 are men's: 100 meters, 110 meters hurdles, 200 meters, 800 meters, 400 meters hurdles, and triple jump.

Women: 100m, 400m, 100m hurdles, 1500m, 3000m, high jump.

Su Feng will participate in all 6 events this time. This can be said to be the first time that Su Feng has officially landed in Europe to participate in this series of events. Therefore, everyone in the Su team attaches great importance to this.

To participate in all six events, including the subsequent finals, means that Su Feng will spend three months in Europe from June 18th to September 19th, and will have to go through seven different events.

This place is a test for Su Feng's body, and it is also a huge test for the Su team's logistics support capabilities.

Su Feng doesn't just go to any place and compete. He has to adapt to the venue in advance and train as usual.

Therefore, the arrangement of accommodation and training venues is not a small test for the SU team at all.

On June 12, Su Feng flew directly from New York to Norway, and then drove to Bergen.

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway and is home to the University of Bergen, one of the institutions of higher learning that Norwegians are proud of.

The University of Bergen ranks around 130th in the World University Alliance, which can be said to be a world-class university.

Su Feng chose to conduct his training in Bergen at the stadium of the University of Bergen.

Norwegians like to chase stars and also like track and field sports. Su Feng also attracted the attention of local college students when he was training on the playground. However, no one disturbed Su Feng, allowing Su Feng's training to proceed normally.

However, the exclamations that sounded from time to time on the sidelines still showed the popularity and attention Su Feng received in the local area.

After all, Su Feng's posture and performance in New York a few days ago were so domineering!

Gu Zhu

Except for the relatively sour media in the United States, the media in Europe and other regions are relatively friendly. They objectively introduced Su Feng's achievements to the people of their countries, which attracted widespread attention.

As for China, not to mention, it was treated as a front-page headline, especially Su Feng's last gesture with one finger pointing to the sky, which was quoted by almost all media.

And for the Chinese people, Su Feng finally started running 200 meters in world-class competitions, and achieved such strong results, which can be regarded as a worry for the Chinese people.

Sure enough, a player who can become a flying star in the 100 meters will not disappoint with his performance in the 200 meters.

Now the people have turned their attention to the 2008 Olympic Games. With Su Feng's strength, it is definitely not a problem to get the A mark in the 100 meters and 200 meters in the Olympic Games. The question now is whether Su Feng can win the gold medal.

Yes, it’s a gold medal!

On the one hand, Su Feng is strong enough to win the gold medal.

On the other hand, the common people are also angry. What we Chinese want is the gold medal.

Whether it's table tennis or women's volleyball, we are all aiming for the gold medal.

The reason why some other sports do not aim at gold medals is not because the Chinese people’s pursuit is not high, but because the athletes’ strength does not allow it. As long as we are strong enough, of course our Chinese people’s goal will only be gold medals.

Today is June 13th, the second day after Su Feng arrived in Norway. Because the jet lag has not completely reversed, Su Feng simply did some basic training and ran a few standard 100 meters to find his condition. We returned to our rented hotel.

In fact, the University of Bergen welcomed Su Feng to train and stay here. However, in order not to trouble the other party too much, Su Feng declined the other party's accommodation invitation. Anyway, the hotel was nearby, and the price was suitable for Su Feng. It's not expensive, and it's more comfortable to live outside.

Back at the hotel, Su Feng stayed in a standard room alone. He Jun and the others went to prepare for their own affairs. Su Feng was also happy to have some leisure time. Then he picked up his computer and logged into QQ, and started chatting with a stranger.

A stranger indeed.

On the afternoon of the New York race, Su Feng received a friend request from a stranger.

His QQ account was only known to people with certain connections, so Su Feng did not reject the application directly after receiving it. He planned to agree first and then see who it was.

If it was an irrelevant person, including advertising invitations, he would just delete it.

As a result, after the two started chatting, Su Feng discovered that this person turned out to be one of his fans, and the two of them were extremely speculative when chatting, so he had no idea of deleting it. Moreover, the two of them now chatted more frequently than Su Feng and several other people. My brother is still taller.

This person was indeed familiar enough, and Su Feng felt that this person should be the kind of person who usually talks a lot and chirps, but he is not annoying.

"Hey, Su Feng, how are you? Have you been to Norway? I'm so envious. I've wanted to go to Norway several times but I haven't been able to. The scenery there is so nice."

"It's pretty good. It's the four Nordic countries. The environment is certainly very good, but it's a bit humid."

"It would be great if we go in winter. I heard the snow there is beautiful, and you can also see the aurora in winter. It's very romantic."

The two of them chatted like this for a long time, and it seemed that every time Su Feng stopped, the other party would find something to talk about. Finally, it seemed that the other party had something going on, and the chat ended.
