Chapter Four: The Deepness of My Love for This Land

The train slowly took Tom Smith and other members of the Smith family across the north and south of the east coast of the United States to the southernmost state of the United States - Texas.

Once you enter the Texas border, the railroad track spacing in Texas is wider than in other parts of the United States.

The Smith family had to change trains at the Texas border, and the original train manager's family was also "invited" by Tom to board the return train to New York.

The U.S. federal government and the Yankee Railroad Company have repeatedly tried to unify the track spacing between Texas and the Yankee Territory.

It is a pity that even the Texans who lost the Civil War still insisted on themselves in this regard and insisted on using wide-gauge trains and railways.

Tom stood next to the wide-format train, touching the train that was at least forty years old, and his mind couldn't help but go back to the scene of his last time travel.

Tom in his previous life traveled directly to Texas in 1865, at the end of the Civil War.

At that time, Texas was facing defeat in the Civil War and was in desperate need of improvement. It was also garrisoned by the Yankees and ruled with high pressure.

Tom knew that as long as Texans were willing, gay train companies would enter Texas as soon as possible to lay railroads and make profits for the largest state in the United States.

Tom couldn't help but admire the backbone of the Texans from the bottom of his heart.

I, Texas, the heart of the lonely state, you can break my Texan legs and tell us to kneel down, but our Texan hearts will never surrender.

Loki saw Tom standing alone next to the train and touching the train in a daze, so he walked over to Tom.

"Boss? Boss? What's so good about this shabby train?"

"You don't understand how deeply I love this land. I deeply love the land of Texas."

"Boss, isn't this your first time in Texas?"

Tom turned around, patted Loki's shoulder heavily with his hand, and said sincerely:

"Do you know what was most important to a nineteenth-century factory owner?"

"Minerals? Agriculture? Technology?"

"None of that! It's the land and employees!"

"Texas is now the largest state in the United States. It also has a high degree of autonomy. It has independent minting power, military recruitment power, legislative power, and many other sovereignties that only independent countries have."

"While having so much power, it is also protected by the federal government of the United States."

"More importantly, in order to prevent the rise of Texas and revive the Civil War, the Yankees have been suppressing the industrial development of the Texas region and the entire Dixie region."

"This is an area with no industrial production."

"Tell me, what factory owner can't love this kind of land?"

Tom walked to the edge of the train waiting platform and faced the endless fields.

"I, Tom Smith, am here to make Texas great again!"

"Earn a little bit of money by the way, and then be "forced" to become an emperor under the enthusiastic public referendum."

“I am truly a patriotic capitalist from Texas and a patriotic factory owner from America!”

"Wow, wow, such a good man, I was even moved to tears by myself."

Tom raised his arms and shouted, releasing his passion.

This move attracted the attention of many passers-by. Tom kept shouting in German. Passers-by who didn't understand just thought that Tom was crazy.

"Boss, someone has been staring at us, what do you think?"

Johnny also walked behind Tom, pointed to a few Texans behind him who had been staring at Tom, and then quietly made a gesture to Tom. This gesture meant to "deal with" these suspicious people.

people.

Tom looked in the direction of Johnny's finger, and there were indeed a few people gathered together, looking at Tom and the others, and chatting with each other.

Several Texans have calluses on their hands, and their necks are red from years of farm work. They have standard red necks.

"What are you looking at?"

"Look at you!"

"Try another one?"

“Just try it!”

"What are you looking at?"

"Eh?"

Just when the exchange was about to escalate into an endless cycle of swearing in the Texas dialect version of English, the red necks on the opposite side were the first to notice something was wrong.

"Brother, where are you from?"

"The place in my hometown of Houston."

"Houston? Me too! Brother, look at you, the good Houston Silver, you are just talking about birdsong."

"Have you just come back from that place in Europe? I'm used to talking like birdsong. Why don't you stop talking when you have a good voice?"

Just like that, the two groups of people who were at war with each other one second, Johnny was about to draw his gun, and the next moment they started chatting side by side.

The family members who have been following Tom around him are basically all stowaways who have just arrived from the Second German Empire. They can't even speak English, let alone have strong accents, mixed with French words and Spanish words.

The Texas dialect of English.

"I am an old Texan whose ancestors have been Texans for three or four generations. If it hadn't been for the chaos of the Civil War and my displacement, uncles, maybe you could have watched me grow up."

"You're a bastard, sooner or later I'm going to kill these bastards together with my brothers."

"Come on, uncle, have a cigarette to put out the fire."

"It smokes so well. Is this a cigar?"

"Cough...cough..."

By coincidence, several "fellow villagers" were also on the same train as Tom.

On the train, Tom learned from several "fellow Houstonians" how miserable Texas had been in recent years without him on the original historical line.

A large number of black slave laborers were "liberated" by the Yankee garrison and transported to factories in northern America to work as employees.

The massive loss of labor has dealt a fatal blow to the entire Texas agriculture industry.

The local factories in Texas were suppressed by the Yankees, who did not allow Texas to have a strong industry, and basically opened one store after another.

As he listened, Tom cried on the train.

"Brother, you are such a big old man, why are you crying?"

A group of red-necked people started to panic. Why did they just chat with them about the "Houston fellows" who spent nine days gazing at the moon and sailing across the five oceans to catch turtles? They burst into tears.

"These Yankees are so abominable. They actually "destroyed" my hometown like this. When I come back this time, I will definitely build our own factory for Texans!"

"I, Tom Smith, must make the Texans stand up in every aspect!"

"Build a factory for the rise of Texas!"

"Build a factory so that Texans can truly stand up!"

A group of rednecks were infected by Tom's heroic ambition. A group of rednecks surrounded Tom and hugged each other with tears in their eyes.

"Brother, you are truly a living saint in the Bible!"

"You are truly the greatest Yin I have ever seen."

"Woooooo~"

Tom looked at the rednecks crying around him and felt secretly happy.

"The rednecks of Texas are still so stupid and easy to cheat."

"Texas! Surrender to me once again!"

"I will lead Texas to greatness once again!"
