Chapter 73: Return of the Wolf King

The Gate of Divine Punishment opened in the northeastern part of the Wolf Principality, under heavy protection from the traitors of the Human Mechanicus and the mechanical army.

In the vast Wolf Principality, a quarter of the territory has been occupied by the mechanical race.

Mechanical cities were built on the captured cities, and bionic slave workers worked day and night. A large number of mechanical warriors were continuously produced and headed west.

Benlang Fortress is the last barrier blocking the westward advance of the mechanical army.

The core of the fortress, Wolfsburg, was built four hundred years ago. It was originally built to defend against the Griffin Principality during the empire's civil war.

The entire castle is magnificent and majestic, built of giant black stones rich in earth elemental magic. The walls can withstand the bombardment of low-level magic.

Later, successive Wolf Grand Dukes continued to expand Wolf Castle.

They built a thickened black stone city wall between the cliffs on both sides, blocking the long mountain pass. There was only a huge city gate for entry and exit.

The current Benlang Fortress is like a gate, lying in the middle of the most flat and open land passage in the rugged East Pole Mountains.

The main force of the Bad Wolf Principality gathered here, and the Wolf Fortress became the front line for the fierce battle with the mechanical army. Silver Fang City on the west side firmly assumed the logistics function.

Li Ran, Ron and his party arrived near Benlang Fortress late at night.

They galloped on the main road, passing through the legion camp outside the fortress.

Both sides of the road were lined with colorful soldier tents, bonfires were burning in the camps, and long fire dragons stretched along the Principality Avenue to the end of the field of vision.

Most of the soldiers of the Wolf Principality were preparing their weapons in the camp, or taking the time to rest.

The loss of their homes gave these camps a gloomy and bleak atmosphere.

On the other hand, the adventer (player) guild camp was bustling with activity.

It was as if this war had nothing to do with them and was just a sightseeing tour.

These visitors from another world have an extraordinarily strong will, and no disaster can make them fear or despair.

Most of them are just ordinary players who receive meager subsidies from the guild and continue to take risks, fight and die in Ashan.

After the golden period of opening the server, the interests of the entire development area were divided up by the national server guild alliance, headed by the top ten guilds. The chances of success for ordinary individual players were as slim as panning for gold in manure.

They work and fight day and night, but they can only earn enough wealth to cover the cost of nutrient solution just like when Li Ran was mining during the first server period.

The camp of the descendants was filled with people.

People indulged themselves in enjoyment and stayed with the friends and comrades whom Ashan had met.

Although such days are sometimes a little monotonous, they are enough to make them forget about the bleak life in reality.

Li Ran and his party passed through the crowded crowd and arrived in front of the west gate of Benlang Fortress.

After the guard verified his identity, he immediately said respectfully:

"Grand Duke Ron, please come with me. General Wolfe has been waiting for you for a long time."

Li Ran and others stepped into the city gate and arrived inside Benlang Fortress.

Compared with the hustle and bustle of the low-level legions on the periphery, the core legions of the Principality and Adventers are stationed in the Wolf Fortress, and military discipline is much stricter.

Beside the road, you can see that the trainer is installing light armor on the dire wolf. A knight from the Wolf Principality is sitting on the threshold of the military camp, applying knife oil to his weapon.

Li Ran and others followed the guards, passed through the outer city protected by the city wall, and arrived at the core of the fortress - Wolfsburg.

After receiving the notification, General Wolfe summoned the noble lords in the castle hall.

Li Ran asked the others to wait outside, and he and Ron went to the castle hall.

He remained in his shadow disguise and followed Ron.

As soon as they entered the castle hall, pairs of curious or indifferent eyes immediately swept over.

General Wolfe was the first to come forward and said with a smile:

"Ron! Long time no see, welcome back!"

Wolfe is a burly old man. Time has turned his hair white, but it has not destroyed his body. He still speaks with great energy.

As a staunch supporter of the Vironka family of the Wolf Grand Duke, the former general of the principality who had long since retired from old age had to take over the defense of Wolf City after the death of the two Grand Dukes.

"Uncle Wolfe, you are still so energetic."

Ron said with a smile.

Then he looked at the others with cold eyes.

I am afraid that only Wolfe among the people present sincerely welcomes him back here.

The strong man staring at him with wide eyes at the long table was Luke Smedley, the "savage" from the northern mountains.

The tall, thin gentleman in golden attire was Jones Burne, the "Wolf Master" whose fiefdom was adjacent to the Falcon Principality.

The red-haired woman leaning on the long table with a beautiful face and looking at him with interest was Mel Bart, the "she-wolf" of the South.

Wolfe continued: "A wolf pack cannot survive without a leader. Are you ready to take over as the Grand Duke of the Wolf?"

Ron said seriously: "I have made all preparations."

Wolf laughed loudly and said: "I know that no one in the Veronka family is a coward! You will become a qualified Grand Duke like your brother."

He led Ron to sit down at the long table, and Li Ran naturally sat on the seat next to Ron, causing all the great lords to roll their eyes.

Who is this man in black robes, even his face hidden in the shadow of the hood?

How do you deserve to sit with us?

Their dissatisfaction with Ron couldn't help but intensify a bit.

In order to show his happiness, "Wolf Master" Jones twisted his whole face together in a smile:

"Grand Duke Ron, since your brother passed away, we have been eagerly awaiting your return! I heard that you destroyed a mechanical city in the wilderness? This is really an amazing achievement! If we can destroy all those foundries,

Then these mechanical tribes would have gone away long ago!"

Just as Ron was about to speak, "Savage" Luke interrupted harshly:

"Flattery Jones, don't spread those exaggerated rumors here."

After speaking, he glanced at Ron provocatively and continued to question: "Each mechanical city has a large number of mechanical war beasts, towering city walls and psychic knight guards. I believe that Archduke Ron is strong enough to defeat two psychic knights.

, but it is impossible for him to destroy the entire Mechanical City!"

"She Wolf" Mel added fuel to the fire: "You mean, Grand Duke Ron is lying?"

"Savage" Luke narrowed his eyes dangerously and made it clear: "He is not a real wolf, how can he lead us? If you ask me, he is the same as the sycophants like Jones, and the gang of the Casting Star Council

The stupid pig is colluding, and destroying the Mechanical City is just false news released by his men."

Ron looked at the provocative Luke with cold eyes.

He looked around.

Not surprisingly, no one spoke for him.

Under the shadow of the hood, Li Ran raised his eyebrows with interest.

What Luke said was obviously the sentiment of everyone present.

Ron was not engaged in government affairs and stayed away from the aristocratic circle of the Wolf Principality. He suddenly returned and it was difficult to convince the public with his qualifications.

How will the young Arch Wolf react?

Li Ran crossed his legs frivolously, waiting to watch the show with a melon-like mood.
