77. Killing Ikeda

Brother Chao and Ouyang watched the two Japanese brigades of light infantry heading north along the Andili River. They had no way of telling the captain the news, so they could only wait.

"Brother Chao, it's been more than two hours, why aren't Captain Luo here yet?" Ouyang was worried.

"What's the point of being anxious? The Japs can't go very far in more than two hours. There are still more than two hundred miles from here to Tonggu. There's still time." Brother Chao said.

"That's all we have to do." Ouyang had no other choice.

"Let's go and have a look at the river." Brother Chao walked towards the edge of the forest with his sniper rifle in hand.

As soon as he arrived at the edge of the forest, Brother Chao found a Japs head exposed on the east bank of the river. He looked around and found nothing, so he walked out of the woods with seven or eight water bottles and walked towards the river, followed by three Japs.

, each devil carries several kettles in his hand.

Brother Chao observed every move of the Japs through the sniper scope. After a few Japs filled the kettles in the river, they quickly returned to the woods.

"Brother Chao, with so many kettles, there shouldn't be just three or two Japs, right?" Ouyang said.

Brother Chao put away his sniper rifle, sat on the ground and pondered for a moment, and said: "From this perspective, we can't see how many Japs there are and what equipment they have. We also don't know whether the Japs are staying here for a short time or what they are going to do. Let's go."

Go and do some reconnaissance."

"Okay." Ouyang held Thompson and followed Brother Chao. The two of them walked upstream along the west bank of the Andili River to find a more suitable reconnaissance point.

Ikeda took the water bottle sent by Asakura and continued to march quickly. In this hot and humid tropical rain forest, he was soaked to the skin. After drinking a few sips of the cool river water, Ikeda felt much better.

"Ikeda-kun, we have more than forty imperial warriors and we chose this place to ambush the Chinese. How do you think we should arrange our personnel?" Asakura asked Ikeda.

Ikeda put down the kettle, picked up the telescope, walked to the edge of the forest, and looked around the river. When he returned to the forest, he was thinking about how to arrange it so that the Chinese people could become the turtles in the urn.

Asakura followed Ikeda, like a pug, waiting for instructions from his boss.

Just when Ikeda walked to the edge of the forest to observe the terrain, he happened to be seen through the sniper scope by Brother Chao who had changed his position.

"The Japs commander is a lieutenant, so there should be quite a few Japs at this time," Brother Chao said.

"Maybe we can take a break and leave," Ouyang said.

"No, there is no need to observe the terrain here so carefully when taking a rest. Could it be that the Japanese want to imitate us in ambush?" Brother Chao guessed.

"Ambush who?"

"Where the captain is leading people, there will be faint gunshots from time to time. What does that mean?"

"It means that captain and the others are probably at odds with the Japanese."

"Based on the captain's cleverness and pursuit, the Japanese will certainly not get any advantage, so what should we do?"

"So the Japanese Lieutenant led a team to ambush in advance?" Ouyang didn't believe it, but he thought it made sense.

"Thinking about it this way, I guess there won't be too many Japs. Let's just stay here and move as little as possible to avoid being discovered by the Japs." Brother Chao said as he thought.

"We have to find a way to tell the captain, otherwise we will suffer a loss." Ouyang was a little anxious.

"We should remain unchanged to cope with the ever-changing situation. We are in a hurry now and are in chaos. It is difficult to guarantee that we will not be discovered by the Japanese. In this way, you see there is a big banyan tree in front of you. You hide under it and cover me. I will climb up the tree.

First figure out how the Japanese troops are arranged, and then find a solution." Brother Chao said, pointing to a big tree not far away.

"okay."

After the two people discussed it, they quickly started taking action.
