Chapter 6 The Prince's Visit

The man who had been holding the book finally raised his eyelids and looked at the woman with extremely complicated eyes.

I haven't seen her in three years. She has lost a lot of weight and is not as smiling as before.

It's great that she's not doing too well, just like him, so he's satisfied.

Huan Ci was awakened by the coachman's cry. She suddenly opened her eyes and subconsciously looked at Fu Shen, who was reading a book with his eyes lowered.

The man glanced at her expressionlessly, then quickly turned his attention to the book in his hand.

"Thank you."

Huan Ci dropped two words and quickly went out.

She jumped out of the carriage with a slight jump, but almost fell to her knees on the ground because of her weak legs.

Fortunately, the people at the inn quickly gathered around her when they saw her, so she didn't make a fool of herself.

The doorman saw that she looked unhappy, but he didn't dare to touch her, so he had to hold her on the side to prevent her from falling.

Huan Ci only wanted to go back and lie down as soon as possible, and even his steps moved a lot faster.

When she was almost walking to the yard where she lived, Ayao heard some noise in the house and hurriedly ran out to greet her.

"Huh? Why didn't the girl come back on horseback?"

"The horse is still tied outside the palace gate. I'll find someone to bring it back later."

Huan Ci dove into the house and started rummaging through the boxes and cabinets in search of medicine for injuries.

"Girl, why is your face so white?" Ayao shouted in a horrifying voice.

"It's okay, it doesn't matter." Huan Ci shook his head, "Zong Zhengyuan has only sent 30,000 troops. He will set off tomorrow. The leader will be Modi. Quickly prepare a copy of the book and send our spies to send it to father at high speed."

"I'll go right away." Ayao quickly put down the things in her hands and ran out.

Huan Ci breathed a sigh of relief and took off his robe to inspect the wound on his shoulder.

There was some blood again, but luckily there was no suppuration. She gritted her teeth, sprinkled medicine on the wound, and bandaged it twice.

There was a lot of sweat on his forehead, and Huan Ci felt dizzy and threw himself into the bed tent.

When she received the secret order, she ran here day and night, never expecting to encounter an assassin on the way.

She was in such a hurry that she had no time to recuperate from her injuries. Now that she had lost both energy and blood, she just wanted to take a good rest.

This is what Ayao saw when she came back.

Huan Ci was curled up on the bed, still frowning even though he fell asleep.

Helplessly covering Huan Ci with the quilt, A Yao sighed silently.

Time was in a hurry, only she and her brother were accompanying the princess, the rest were still behind, and now they were trapped by the snow.

During these days, both the princess and her and her brother were extremely busy.

*

The capital has been much busier than usual in recent days.

There is no other reason. The winter moon has arrived, and the people have begun to happily prepare for the Spring Festival. The war in the north is too far away from them to affect their joy at all.

In this compartment, Zong Zhengche has been sitting in the inn for a long time, and Ah Lian is standing beside him sighing.

This giant Buddha came here just after the first festival, and Ayao was not allowed to wake up the princess.

The princess has been sleeping since the next court session. She has slept until now and has not even used lunch.

"How many people did the princess bring with her on this trip?" Zong Zhengche's voice suddenly sounded.

Ah Lian was stunned for a moment and explained: "Now only my sister and I are accompanying the princess. The rest are still on the way. I'm afraid they were delayed by the heavy snow."

Zong Zhengche frowned slightly, a little surprised by this.

One of the purposes of his coming here is to settle down Huan Ci, which can be regarded as a task assigned to him by the emperor.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but sneer.

Today at the court, he proposed to lead troops to the front line, which really made Zong Zhengyuan uneasy. After the court, he dragged him to keep in touch with him.
