Chapter 31 Ambush

Before anyone could stop him, Huan Ci fled into the forest in Zhuifeng.

I wonder if it’s because she went astray and didn’t hear any movement of wild animals after searching for a long time?

Have they been scared away by the prince and others?

Huan Ci reined in the reins and froze in place together with Zhui Feng, holding his breath and listening to the movements around him.

Soon, a slight noise from behind aroused her alert.

Huan Ci raised his eyebrows lightly, cocked his bow and shot an arrow. But after a burst of wind, not only did she not hear the screams of the prey, but other movements also disappeared.

She didn't want to believe that she had regressed to this point, so she drove her horse carefully towards the direction of the arrow.

Soon, Huan Ci stopped. She had found the arrow and stuck it in a strong tree.

Looking along the tree trunk and looking to the side, a man suddenly appeared, wearing smart clothes, riding a horse and looking at her intently.

"Are you following me?" Huan Ci looked displeased at Fu Shen, who had been following her at some point, and pursed his lips into a straight line.

"The minister is just ensuring the safety of the princess." Fu Shen's deep voice reached his ears.

Huan Ci pursed his lips: "I don't need it, you can go."

"The princess is my future crown princess of Da Rong, how could she step into such a dangerous place alone?" Fu Shen stared at her scalp unmoved.

"I'm in more danger with you." Huan Ci snorted coldly, turned his horse's head and walked forward.

Since he is willing to follow, let him follow.

After walking around for half a day, the sun was almost setting, but Huan Ci still had nothing to gain.

She looked back at the man who had been following her from far to near, and rolled her eyes at him.

"It's all thanks to you. Your horse's footsteps were too loud and scared away the prey."

Fu Shen raised his lips and smiled: "The Princess is absolutely right."

Huan Ci looked at him warily, feeling that he was more abnormal today than before.

"I'm going back." She held the reins and tried to pass by the man.

However, Fu Shen looked at her with a smile and allowed his horse to block her way.

"Get out of the way." Huan Ci looked at the thick trees around him, and then he was shocked to realize that he was completely blocked.

"Now that we're here, it's not too late to leave after watching a good show." Fu Shen said with a smile.

"What are you going to do?" Huan Ci looked at him impatiently.

At this moment, an eagle chirped suddenly in the air, followed immediately by a cloud-piercing arrow.

Huan Ci looked up at the familiar eagle in the sky and suddenly shouted: "No, something happened to Zong Zhengche."

But the man in front of him remained unmoved and didn't even raise his head.

"Is it you?" Huan Ci suddenly woke up and stared at him coldly.

Fu Shen sneered, but still had no intention of giving way.

"Hmph!" Huan Ci saddled his horse and shouted, "Zhui Feng, let's go."

Zhui Feng neighed and rushed out. Huan Ci looked at her beloved horse, feeling proud in her heart. However, a moment later, the sudden warmth from her back made her blood surge.

"Fu Xuanmo, you——"

She turned her head and glared at the man who jumped on her horse with an angry look on her face, as if she wanted to eat him alive.

"Watch the road." The man just whispered in her ear, and then he actually wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and took the reins from her hand.

"You beast." Huan Ci cursed angrily and struggled violently on his horse, "Zhui Feng, don't listen to him."

"Stop moving." The man hugged her waist and his deep voice came from behind her head.

The two of them were almost touching each other, and Huan Ci's neck was filled with his hot breath. What made her even more concerned was that Fu Shen was actually gently biting her earlobe.

"Sit tight." The man's low and charming voice penetrated her ears, making her shiver uncontrollably.

Fu Shen chuckled lightly, and his horse galloped away. Within a moment, the two of them came out of the forest. Huan Ci looked at the broad field of vision in front of him, and then he saw a steep cliff in front of him.

He was about to fall if he went any further. Huan Ci swallowed nervously and subconsciously climbed onto the man's arm.

Behind her, Fu Shen raised the corners of his mouth happily and finally reined in the reins at the edge of the cliff.

Zhui Feng was frightened and raised his front hooves in fear.

Huan Ci caressed it and scolded Fu Shen. But soon, her eyes were attracted by the firelight below.

Zong Zhengche was being surrounded by a group of people wearing Hu clothing, and the people following him suffered heavy casualties, and he was about to fall into an isolated and helpless situation.

Huan Ci gave a soft drink, picked up his bow and arrow, and aimed at the barbarian nearest to him.

"Why, are you impatient?" the man behind him laughed softly.

Now that the situation was urgent, Huan Ci didn't bother to pay attention to him. But in the next moment, the man suddenly took hold of her hand that was holding the bow and controlled the direction of her arrow from behind.

"Fu Shen, what are you going to do?" Huan Ci exclaimed in surprise and wanted to let go of the bow, but was held tightly in his arms and unable to move.

"I'm afraid your arrow will miss." The man whispered in her ear.
