Chapter Thirty-Three Minds

The night was completely dark, but a guest room in the northwest corner of the Dudu's Mansion was still brightly lit.

The maid secretly looked at the lost princess, not knowing what to do.

Since returning, Huan Ci has been sitting on the bed with his legs crossed and hasn't moved for a long time.

The food on the table has been heated twice, and the water for washing has been completely cold, but the princess is like a soulless puppet, refusing to look at anyone who talks to her.

The maid shook her head helplessly. She was about to go out with the soup tray, but was frightened and took a step back when she opened the door.

"I've met Chang Shi." She hurriedly bowed.

She had met Pu Governor Shi Fushen when she was in Yingdu, and had even heard many unsavory rumors. However, she did not expect that Lord Chang Shi would ignore the rumors and come to find Princess Ding'an himself.

The little maid was shocked to realize that she had lost her composure and quickly calmed down her expression.

"Go out and don't let anyone in." Although Fu Shen was talking to her, his eyes were fixed on Huan Ci.

"Ah?" The little maid looked surprised. However, she was a person who had seen the world after all. She knew whether to listen or not, so she came to her senses in the blink of an eye.

The door was closed from behind, and only two people were left in the room.

Fu Shen glanced at the unused food on the table, his face extremely gloomy.

"What? You want to go on a hunger strike?" He said in a flirtatious tone to the woman sitting on the bed.

Huan Ci blinked and looked away. She didn't want to see this person now, let alone talk to him.

"Come and eat." The man said in a commanding tone.

Obviously, Huan Ci did not follow this trick.

"Get out, I don't want to see you." She said coldly.

She heard the man sneer, and then there was no movement.

Huan Ci suppressed his curiosity and forced himself not to look at him. But after a while, heavy footsteps suddenly sounded in the house, walking very slowly.

"Zong Zhengche is dead." The man said coldly, "I'm afraid your plan has been overturned again."

"Beast." Huan Ci's eyes turned red instantly. She looked at the man sitting by the bed at some point, rushed over and strangled his neck.

Anger almost took away all Huan Ci's reason. She became stronger and stronger, but the man in front of her remained expressionless.

"Go away." Seeing that he didn't dodge, Huan Ci became angrier and angrier, but she didn't dare to make a killing move. In the end, she let go of her hand first and gave the man two hard blows on the chest.

"Huan Ci." Fu Shen stared at her calmly, "From the time you got involved in these things, you should have understood that this is a life-and-death battlefield."

The tears that had accumulated in his eyes finally fell, and Huan Ci's anger turned into deep grievance.

She has done so much for her father and power, but unexpected things always happen. In the past three years, she has never had her wish, and she is already a little tired.

"What on earth do you want to say?" Huan Ci's voice was hoarse.

"I said, this is just the beginning." Fu Shen looked at her messy hair and whispered, "If you can't retreat as soon as possible, you must be fully prepared."

"Why are you here pretending to be a good person?" Huan Ci raised his eyelids and stared at him, "You are just Zong Zhengyuan's lackey. Do you think he will treat a dog well?"

These words still failed to anger Fu Shen. He and Huan Ci looked at each other and said softly: "No matter what, I will never sit back and watch your father rebel."

Huan Ci was touched by him, and her expression suddenly changed. She lowered her head, then turned over and lay down.

"You go out, I want to rest." She said coldly.

Fu Shen looked at the woman's thin body and sighed almost inaudibly.

After a while, the door creaked.

"He's not dead, I lied to you." The man's deep voice reached his ears.
