Chapter 153 The art master begins to paint

Lunch was very slow.

Fedino and Verrocchio, both in their fifties, were chatting about the purchase of sugar while eating.

Verrocchio would come to the small town of Falgao basically once a month to purchase about five floras of cane sugar.

Floras are coins mixed with gold and have high purchasing power.

However, sugar was very scarce in this era and was a rare commodity, so five floras could not buy much sucrose.

During the discussion, Verrocchio looked at Anno more than once.

But Anno didn't notice Verrocchio's attention at all. After finishing his share of food, he quietly supported his chin with one hand and looked at things outside the window quietly.

He looked haggard and listless.

But maybe it has something to do with Verrocchio's keen powers of detection.

He abruptly put down his knife and fork and said to Fedino: "Brother, can I leave the table temporarily? I want to get something from my carriage."

"Ah, please." Fedino said obediently.

Verrocchio ran out quickly, got into the carriage and found a pencil and a piece of paper under the surprised eyes of his servant who was eating a piece of cake.

Then he ran to the coachman's seat and buckled it down.

Then, he calmly returned to Fedino's house, pulled up a stool, and looked for an angle.

Fedino looked at Verrocchio's actions and immediately understood what he was thinking.

"Mr. Lawrence, could you please keep this posture?" Verrocchio happily poked his head out from behind the board and asked Anno.

"Huh?" An Nuo was a little stunned. What happened all of a sudden?

Verrocchio showed a healthy smile: "I hope you can be my model."

He then added: "I will pay you afterwards."

Now Verrocchio had no idea, he just wanted to put the loneliness he had just glimpsed into his painting frame.

Verrocchio was an artist. As the founder and owner of the famous Verrocchio Studio in Florence, he had close relationships with the king and the church and was a top artist.

But at this moment, the art master's index finger was excitedly clasping the cushion used as a drawing board, looking at the lonely soul by the window.

Annuo also responded.

He smiled nonchalantly: "It doesn't matter, Mr. Verrocchio."

Verrocchio rubbed his hands, squinted one eye, and looked at Anno.

Then, the pencil moved rapidly across the paper.

Annuo ignored the artist who started painting, and just resumed his posture, simply looking out the window.

When Verrocchio wanted to start painting, the Fedinos hid aside.

Fedino touched his wife's shoulder and said, "Anna, what do you think of Lawrence's child?"

Anna's fat face always had a smile and kindness: "A very nice young man, he is also willing to help with work, he is very diligent. But he is a little too quiet."

"Do you think he looks like..."

"..." Anna was a little silent.

Annuo did have some similarities with her son, otherwise, she would not have rescued Annuo so readily and placed him in her own home.

"Give up those thoughts, Fedino." Anna's tone was a little sad, "Rather than trap him in this small town, it's better to let him go out for a walk."

Anna patted her apron and looked at Annuo by the window.

"He has lost his past, so what will happen to the future that traps him?"

Fedino mused.
