Chapter 170 Lorenzo's commission
In April 1467, one afternoon, Annuo received an invitation letter.
The servant in charge of delivering the letter said that this was the invitation of Lorenzo de Medici, the actual ruler of the city-state of Florence, to invite Lawrence Anno Falgo to visit his court and attend a banquet.
Annuo naturally arrived as promised.
Lorenzo's palace was quite small, and he was led by the palace servants to the main hall.
But I found several familiar figures.
The main hall is divided into two floors, both for partying.
When Annuo walked into the hall, he saw his teacher, Verocchio, standing next to the escalator on the second floor, chatting with a mature man.
He took a glass of wine from the court waiter and walked up the stairs.
"Teacher Verocchio." Anno greeted him.
"Oh, let's see who is coming." Verocchio is obviously happy now, and hugged Anno, "Mr. Lorenzo, let me introduce this, this is my most proud disciple, no doubt, Lawrence Anno Falgo."
Anno looked at the serious-looking man opposite him with a surprised look, but he didn't expect that this person was the actual supreme ruler of Florence.
Lorenzo stretched out a hand: "I have heard of the artist who has opened up a new art genre, Lawrence. I am Lorenzo de Medici."
"Good luck." Annuo grabbed Lorenzo's hand and shook it hard. Although this person had never met before, he really helped Annuo a lot.
The order that Anno made the most money before was a piece of jewelry ordered by Lorenzo. Although Anno's previous official reputation was held by the Catholic Church, Lorenzo was actually supported by Lorenzo.
So Anno is still very grateful to Lorenzo.
A man who was younger than Lorenzo came over: "Brother, won't you introduce him?"
"Ah, you're here, my brother." He pulled his brother over, "This is my brother, Giuliano de Medici."
The handsome and younger Giuliano raised his glass to Anno and Verocchio, with a smile on his lips.
"Hello, I'm Lawrence Anno Falgo."
The two shook hands.
Giuliano's eyes did not stop on Annuo, but instead aimed at a noble lady not far behind Annuo. He perfunctorily let go of Annuo's hand: "Brother, two, I'll go over."
Annuo calmly moved aside: "Please give me some advice."
Looking at Giuliano who was leaving in an interest, Verocchio and Lorenzo couldn't help but smile and shook their heads.
Lorenzo shouted: "Lawrence, is it convenient to come here?"
"Of course." Anno followed Lorenzo and Verocchio walked downstairs consciously and went to the table to get some dessert.
The two came to the separate room, Lorenzo sat on the sofa, and his whole body sank deeply into the soft sofa.
"Please sit, Lawrence," said Lorenzo. "I want to find you to help me draw a painting, and by the way, I can carve a bronze statue for me."
Anno sat on the sofa: "Similar to the teacher's "David"?"
Lorenzo shook his head: "No, I'm not a great man like David. There is no need to carve such exquisite and great statues for me, just a bust."
Annuo nodded with a smile: "No problem."
"Then, happy cooperation." Lorenzo raised his glass.
Anno controlled the height of the cup slightly lower than Lorenzo's glass: "Happy cooperation."
The two looked at each other and smiled.
