Chapter 199 Li Yunlongs version of Zhu Huaibing

At around three o'clock in the afternoon, Dong Jiang led soldiers from the reconnaissance company to escort Zhu Huaibing to Xihuayuan Town.

Zhou Weihan was entrusted by political commissar Deng from the former enemy headquarters to temporarily detain Zhu Huaibing here, waiting for high-level negotiations between the two sides before dealing with him in detail.

The former 97th Army headquarters now became the temporary headquarters of an independent detachment, surrounded by a regiment of soldiers armed with live ammunition to guard it.

In less than a day, the offensive and defensive momentum of both sides was reversed, and Zhu Huaibing was reduced from a high-ranking military and political leader in Tainan to a prisoner.

The former enemy headquarters ordered that in order to prevent the stubborn troops from Tainan from coming back, all units of the Eighth Route Army participating in the war, except the Jizhong Security Brigade, still besieged the newly formed 24th Division in Dongda Town.

The remaining ministries are still conducting a dragnet search for the stragglers of the Ninety-seventh Army within the territory.

The truck of the reconnaissance company drove into the headquarters compound and stopped steadily.

Later, Zhu Huaibing and Cai Shaoren were helped out of the vehicle by two soldiers from the reconnaissance company, while Zhou Weihan stood at the door of the main building of the headquarters.

"Report to the commander that our department has escorted Zhu Huaibing, commander of the 97th Army, and Cai Shaoren, commander of the 94th Division, to ask for instructions from the commander!" Dong Jiang made a full gesture in front of Zhu Huaibing.

Zhou Weihan looked at Zhu Huaibing carefully. During the escape, Zhu Huaibing had long lost his previous posture. There were still lumps of blood on his uniform, and his face was covered with dust.

Zhou Weihan had seen Zhu Huaibing's black and white photos before the war, but this was the first time he saw him in person. Looking at Zhu Huaibing's familiar face, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.

In terms of appearance alone, Zhu Huaibing looks so much like Li Yunlong.

However, one has a white face, one has a dark face, one has a feminine appearance, and the other has a rough appearance, and their temperaments are completely different.

"Although I, Zhu, am a prisoner, I am not easily humiliated by others!" Zhu Huaibing stood under the steps in front of the building and looked up at Zhou Weihan and said.

"Commander Zhu, I have long admired your name!" Zhou Weihan said coldly.

Then Zhou Weihan looked at Cai Shaoren, with a warm smile on his face, and said: "Monk, please bring Master Cai to my office first. Tea will be served. Commander Zhu and I have something to say!"

Everyone present could see that Zhou Weihan had completely opposite attitudes towards Zhu Huaibing, and Cai Shaoren himself was a little confused.

"Commander Zhu is actually a great military talent, and his military tactics are somewhat like those of Chairman Chiang Kai-shek, which makes people confused!" Zhou Weihan said in a false compliment.

Zhu Huaibing was not blind. He could see Zhou Weihan's expression, but he still said unforgivingly: "The power of entrustment is beyond the reach of someone like you!"

"Haha, don't worry, Commander Zhu. Your brother-in-law and others are well received by our army. The family members of the 97th Army are temporarily staying in Donghuayuan Town, so it's no big deal!"

"Who am I? I've always wondered who in the Eighth Route Army was so careless that he kidnapped dozens of officers from our army. Now I finally found the real master!" Zhu Huaibing mocked.

"Humph, soldiers are treacherous. As long as you wear this military uniform, you can't stay out of it, let alone someone who harms the family members of our army. I dare to swear on my conscience that I will not abuse the family members of the 97th Army. You, Zhu Huaibing, do it

Are you here yet?" Zhou Weihan said sharply.

"It is inevitable for the two armies to fight! Throughout history, is there any family member of the losing side who will not be implicated?" Zhu Huaibing said proudly, because he was sure that the Eighth Route Army would not do anything to his family.

"A battle between two armies is unavoidable! After your 97th Army arrived in Tainan, not only did you destroy our anti-Japanese regime, but you also frantically killed our military family members. How can it be revealed with just one sentence?"

"Commander Zhu must not know yet. I asked your army's telegraph operator to send a clear telegram in your name. Chairman Chiang must have heard about it at this time.

The top leaders of both parties are currently negotiating, but your decision will be discussed later. If Commander Zhu can go back safely, he will definitely be promoted to a higher position!" Zhou Weihan's words had a somewhat murderous meaning.

After hearing this, Zhu Huaibing changed his expression. Even if the war was lost, as a confidant of Chiang Kai-shek, at most he would be dismissed from office.

However, a clear text telegram was also sent. Although Zhu Huaibing did not know the content, he knew Chiang Kai-shek's personality.

I am afraid that this move has been regarded by Chiang Kai-shek as a sign of peace with the Eighth Route Army, which Chiang Kai-shek cannot tolerate the most.

Zhou Weihan looked at Zhu Huaibing's uncertain expression and felt very relieved. He said loudly: "Come here, find a room for Commander Zhu so that he can be imprisoned safely!"

Zhu Huaibing was taken away. Zhou Weihan knew that the Eighth Route Army could not do anything to Zhu Huaibing, and he could only live with it.

After all, Zhu Huaibing was different from Shi Yousan. Shi Yousan was at best a local warlord who would listen to orders but not propaganda. What's more, he colluded with the Japanese. If he was eliminated, the Eighth Route Army would uphold national justice.

And Zhu Huaibing represents Chiang Kai-shek's face. If he is really touched, both sides will fight to the death, and the Japanese who will stand by and watch the fun will be the ones who benefit.

"Come on, monk, come with me to see the wounded in the first regiment. This regiment has suffered a lot of casualties!"

"Commander, Cai Shaoren is still waiting up there!" the monk reminded, pointing upstairs.

"Let him wait, we don't have time to talk to him!" Treating the two people differently is just to create a gap between them. The seeds have been planted, and it depends on how they will sprout and bear fruit.

...

The 97th Army headquarters and its subordinate departments stationed in Xihuayuan Town were captured by Zhou Weihan's independent detachment.

Among them is the military hospital of its military headquarters, which is located on the northwest side of the town.

The military doctors and medical equipment in the military hospital are all ready. The wounded from the independent detachment regiments and the 386th Brigade, the 22nd Regiment of Jizhong, and the 25th Regiment are all gathered here.

But as far as the independent detachment is concerned in this battle, Jing Dagang's regiment, as the Sharp Knife Regiment, suffered the most serious casualties, and the commandos were the most serious among the regiment.

Before the war, Xin Tiebing's commando team had a total of 360 people. After the war, only 156 people were safe and 204 were lightly or seriously injured.

The battle had only ended for more than two hours, some of the wounded had just been brought in, and the hospital was busy at that time.

The wounded from the independent detachment were sent earlier, and most of them have been treated.

Zhou Weihan opened the door curtain and walked into the ward of a group of wounded people.

The ward was surprisingly quiet, with no one wailing because of pain.

The soldiers of the first regiment are all veterans, and they are the regiment with the most party members and activists in the independent detachment.

Seeing Zhou Weihan enter the ward, all the injured who were awake looked at Zhou Weihan, and some even wanted to stand up from the bed.

Zhou Weihan hurriedly stopped him and put his right hand on the wounded man's bedding, but it was empty.

"I was unlucky on the battlefield. I was injured in the leg by a bullet from a heavy machine gun. The doctor said he couldn't save it, so he sawed off the calf!" the wounded man said lightly.

"Are you Zhang Shuangsheng?"

"It's me, Commander, do you still remember me?"

"Don't you remember? When the New Second Regiment was first established, you disliked the little devil's crooked tricks and insisted on getting a Czech style! You even fired an anti-aircraft cannon for me and said you were bringing out a machine gun battery.

Can you be the company commander?" Zhou Weihan said with a smile.

"Hey, we only brought out one machine gun platoon in the end!" Zhang Shuangsheng, a former Northeastern Army man, said embarrassedly.

"Does it hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt, but I just can't sleep!" This sentence was inconsistent, but it made Zhou Weihan's nose sore.

"Commander, I thought about it when I drank that bowl of Zhuangxing wine. As a party member, I should take the lead and die on the battlefield. I am a martyr. Even if I become disabled, I cannot give up on myself. After I recover from my injuries,

, I will continue to shine in the factory at the rear, and when the time comes, I will raise pigs, and they will be fat and white. After winning the war, I will kill pigs for the comrades to celebrate!" Zhang Shuangsheng said with high morale.

"My good comrade, well done!" Zhou Weihan punched him on the shoulder.

"Comrades, as long as I, Zhou Weihan, live for one day, and as long as the Independent Detachment still exists, you will be the members of my Independent Detachment in life, and the soul of my Independent Detachment in death!"

"Even if you are disabled, whether you go to the rear factory, or go down to the county brigade, or serve as an instructor in the militia team, my independent detachment will support you. When conditions permit, the army will marry you a wife!" Zhou Weihan said loudly.

"Commander, I will remember this! If I have a baby by then, I will let him join the Eighth Route Army and continue to fight the Japanese!"
