Chapter 408: Devouring the Lord?

Changzhi was called Shangdang and Lu'an in ancient times.

On February 20, 1938, the Japanese 108th Division marched westward to invade Changzhi. Sichuan Army General Li Jiayu led his troops to resist, but was ultimately defeated by the Japanese army who took turns to jump over and the city fell.

On June 26, under the planning of Changgu Huona Huaxiong, the Japanese spy agency in Taiyuan, the Japanese and puppet "SX Provincial Office" was established in Taiyuan.

This office is directly affiliated with the Japanese and puppet "North China Government Affairs Commission" and has jurisdiction over 92 counties. It has four counties: Yanmen (governing Taiyuan), Jining (governing Linfen), Hedong (governing Yuncheng), and Shangdang (governing Changzhi).

The puppet regime carried out colonial rule over the people of Shanxi.

The Changzhi Puppet Government, like Taiyuan, was nominally the administrative government of the Changzhi area, but all military and political power was in the hands of Japanese military advisers.

The Advisory Office is a colonial ruling organization sent by the Japanese secret service in Shanxi that is directly responsible for controlling the puppet Provincial Office. Its full name is the SX Provincial Office Advisory Office. In fact, it is not only not under the leadership of the Provincial Office, but controls the Provincial Office.

All the orders of the Japanese army were conveyed to the Advisory Office through the Shanxi Army Secret Service, which was then conveyed to the Provincial Office and supervised the implementation of the Provincial Office. The head of the Advisory Office was generally concurrently served by the head of the Secret Service.

The offices of the Changzhi Puppet Government were in the outer city, but the Japanese military secret service and advisory offices were in the inner city.

Although Changzhi City was breached at this time, there were still many Japanese and puppet administrative personnel in the city, plus some defeated Japanese and puppet troops scattered inside the city.

Most of the officers of the 238th Regiment were destroyed by the air force's bombing. At this time, the highest commander of the Japanese army in the city was the head of the secret service, Moriyama Nobuchen.

Moriyama Nobusumi was ordered to form an emigrant escort, but the newly formed emigrant escort was destroyed by an aerial bomb.

The headquarters of the secret service.

However, the head of the Japanese military secret service, Moriyama Nosumi, escaped by chance. The gunfire in the city became increasingly sparse. Moriyama Nosumi knew that the Japanese army's situation in Changzhi was over.

"Immediately order personnel to destroy important documents. The Eighth Route Army must not let them get it!" Moriyama Nobuchen said to the adjutant on the side.

After Moriyama Nobuzumi finished speaking, he left the office and wanted to go to the telecommunications department to send a farewell telegram to his superiors.

Outside the office, Zhang Zhenmin, the nominal Taoist official of the Changzhi Puppet Government, was anxious. The Japanese were finished. How could he, a traitor who worked for the Japanese, survive in the hands of the Eighth Route Army?

When Zhang Zhenmin saw Moriyama Nobuchen coming out, he immediately greeted him, nodding and bowing like before: "Mr. Moriyama, the Eighth Route Army has invaded, what should we do?"

Nobuyumi Moriyama also understood that he was about to die, and immediately said: "Zhang Jun, why are you still here? You are the Daoyin of Shangdang Road, and you receive the money and food distributed by the Empire of Japan. You should be the emperor of Japan."

Go ahead, I order you to take your guards to fight the Eighth Route Army outside!"

Zhang Zhenmin was so frightened that he broke out in cold sweat. Even the Japanese couldn't defeat the Eighth Route Army. It was okay for the guards around him to bully ordinary people. But if he went to fight the Eighth Route Army to the death, wouldn't he be rushing to death?

"Taijun, you can't do this, I am loyal to you Japanese people!"

Moriyama Nobsumi usually looked at Zhang Zhenmin's flattering look, maybe it was like an owner teasing a domestic Akita dog, but now he felt indescribable disgust.

The master is about to die, how can there be no reason why the lackey should not be buried with him?

He immediately took out the Southern Type 14 pistol from the gun case and pointed it at Zhang Zhenmin's head, and said with a ferocious smile: "Are you going or not?"

"Taijun, I'm going, I'm going!"

Zhang Zhenmin gritted his teeth, turned around and walked out, and at the same time glanced at the three guards who came with him.

Several people came to Moriyama Nobucheng, originally looking for a way out.

Along the way from the gate of the secret service to Nobumi Moriyama's office, Zhang Zhenmin saw clearly that there were no guards at all in the station at this time, only a few office personnel.

Thinking of this, Zhang Zhenmin felt jealous and thought to himself, it's you who didn't give me a way to survive. You bitch, don't blame me for using you as a proxy.

When Moriyama Nobsumi saw Zhang Zhenmin turning around and leaving, he nodded with satisfaction and put away his pistol. You, a timid Chinaman, cannot challenge the majesty of the Japanese Imperial Army.

Then I heard a loud shout: "Do it!"

I saw three guards not far away rushing towards Moriyama Nobuchen. Without giving Moriyama Nobuchen any extra reaction, the three of them threw him to the ground.

Three big-bodied guards subdued an unprepared kid. It was really easy to capture them.

"Quickly, take him away and hand him over to the Eighth Route Army. We will do a great job!" Zhang Zhenmin stepped forward and kicked Moriyama Nobuchen in the face.

Moriyama Nobuzumi's face was covered with blood from the kick, and he cursed: "Bagaya, you are dead!"

"Little devil, it was you who died. With you, I don't have to die!"

The offensive troops that came in from four directions, led by comrades from the intelligence station in the city, attacked separately and occupied the Japanese military headquarters, secret service agencies, puppet government, arsenals and other locations in a targeted and planned manner. There were also dedicated personnel to inspect and check the Japanese military headquarters, secret service agencies, puppet government, arsenals and other locations in the outer city.

Changzhi Puppet Bank, a company established by Japanese expatriates, and the property of puppet army officers and puppet government personnel.

The Japanese army's secret service was a top priority. As soon as Zhang Zhenmin and others left the gate of the secret service station, a group of Eighth Route Army soldiers rushed over.

Seeing this situation, Zhang Zhenmin was afraid of being accidentally injured by the Eighth Route Army, but he was clever and immediately shouted: "Don't shoot, Comrade Eighth Route Army, I caught the little devil's secret service chief, this is a big fish!"

The fourth company of the Second Regiment was responsible for occupying the Japanese spy agency. The commander of the fourth company waved his hand and said: "Leave the first group while the rest rush in. Move quickly!"

The fourth company commander glanced at the military rank on Moriyama Nobushima's shoulder, thinking that he had caught a big fish, and then asked: "He is the head of the Japanese secret service, who are you!"

"Me? I'm..." Zhang Zhenmin was speechless when he was asked and didn't know how to reply.

Moriyama Nobsumi, who was being escorted aside, was a China expert, but he was decisive and shouted: "He is a traitor, a lackey, and a Taoist who is on the party road!"

"Hey, I caught two big fish, take them both away!"

At the same time, inside the headquarters outside the city.

Zhou Weihan learned that the various ministries had occupied Changzhi City, and immediately moved the headquarters to the city and the artillery battalion immediately moved into hiding.

Under the escort of the artillery battalion's guard platoon, Zhou Weihan, Xing Zhiguo and He Wensheng walked towards Changzhi City.

Everyone walked to the north gate of Changzhi City. The plaque on the gate tower was still vaguely visible, but the nearby city wall had been blown down.

Zhou Weihan stood here, looking at the mottled ancient city walls that had gone through the baptism of time and war, and couldn't help but sigh: "It is a pity that the monuments left by our predecessors are now destroyed by war!"

"Does this plaque say Dehua Building?" Zhou Weihan asked.

"It's Dehua Building, Luyang Building on the east gate, Weiyuan Building on the west gate, and Baoning Building on the north gate, built in the Ming Dynasty!" He Wensheng on the side replied.

"I remember that on April 25, 1938, our 129th Division briefly recaptured Changzhi. Unexpectedly, more than two years later, Changzhi City came back!" Xing Zhiguo said with the same emotion.
