119. Spirit Shed

In the early morning, a ray of golden sunlight shone through the gap in the curtains and fell on Lu Tan's face.

The room was surrounded by sweet singing, and I could never tire of listening to the melody of "Tonight I Forget". Even the dark figure beside the bed seemed to be shaking his head, enjoying the music.

Lu Tiao opened his eyes and saw an eye next to the pillow looking at him.

The eyeball with a large ball of hair at the end noticed that Lu Tiao woke up and hurriedly shrank into the corner of the bed, where he could not be found again.

After yawning, Lu Tan sat up instead of going back to sleep.

After washing, he went downstairs to buy breakfast, walked into the elevator, and suddenly thought of what happened last night.

"I don't know what happened to that old man."

He came downstairs and found several workers here building sheds.

This type of memorial shed usually faces south. In some places, banquets are held and all-night mahjong games are played for several nights. However, Jiangcheng is highly urbanized, so the memorial shed only occupies a few parking spaces.

Smelling the strong aroma of incense, Lu Tan looked curiously at the portrait in the memorial shed.

"..."

In that portrait, it was the old man I met last night.

"So, he already went last night?"

Lu Tan inquired casually, and found out that the old man was over seventy years old. He didn't wake up after sleeping in bed last night, so he was considered to be free of illness and pain.

"Let me offer incense to his old man."

Lu Jian said to his family members.

"You are?"

The old man's family members seemed to have not recovered from the shock, and there were deep circles in his eyes.

"I live on the thirteenth floor, and I have met your father twice."

Lu Jian told the truth.

The family members didn’t stop me either, after all, they were all neighbors.

Lu Tan offered incense to the old man, paid homage, and then raised his head.

He saw that the old man was hanging upside down on the roof of the funeral shed, lying on all fours on the black shed, looking at Lu Qiu.

"Does your father have a habit of hanging them upside down on the wall?"

Lu Tiao asked suddenly, which made the woman who was a family member stunned. She unconsciously raised her head and looked at where Lu Tiao's eyes were pointing.

"Are you kidding me?"

She was a little confused.

"Are there any cabinets or boxes near the ceiling of your house?"

Lu Tan asked again.

"That's not clear..."

The woman muttered something, as if she remembered something.

"I do have a cupboard at home, but I haven't opened it for a long time."

"How about if you have time to open that cupboard and take a look, you might find something unexpected."

Lu Tan didn't explain much. He took one last look at the old man on the ceiling and walked out of the memorial shed.

While eating breakfast, Lu Jian watched the news.

Lu Jian doesn't know how many weird things there are in Jiangcheng.

He has been studying here for several years and has never had a similar experience before.

Since arriving in the Quiet Land, Lu Jian has seen many things he has never seen before.

After some research, Lu Tian felt that there might be something wrong with Jiang Cheng.

This place has been a battleground for military strategists from ancient times to the present. War breaks out frequently, and many more people have died around it than in ordinary cities.

Coupled with the layout of the Jiangcheng Grand Theater, which can attract great beings from distant deep space, it is difficult for people not to think of something.

"It's impossible that there's something buried underground in Jiangcheng."

Lu Tan had breakfast, returned home, and continued working.

In the past two days, he mainly organized the story outline of the entire film and finalized the ending.

Some students may ask, if you don’t already have the materials, why do you need to organize the outline? Can’t you just connect the materials together and throw them up?

Actually no.

Editing, storyboarding, and plot advancement play as important a role in a movie as the script and actors.

Some movies are mediocre in the first version, but the director's cut is amazing. Some movies have gorgeous special effects and awesome plots, but they are completely incomprehensible because of the fancy editing.

Lu tripping does not require such superb skills. The essence of this movie is still a thriller adventure theme. It ends with a tragedy, which can highlight the elements.

In the evening, Lu Tan stretched out, stood up from the computer, and prepared to go downstairs for dinner.

At this moment, his cell phone rang.

I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Feng Yu, the senior squad leader.

"Hello?"

Lu Tian answered the phone.

"Are you okay? I saw the news today and it said that the serial murderer was caught yesterday. It seems he is right where you live."

Feng Yu's voice sounded a little worried.

"No problem. In fact, I helped catch the serial murderer. He sneaked into my house and I caught him. The comrades in the police all praised me for my bravery."

Lu Jian told the truth.

"Haha, is it true? You are so awesome."

Feng Yu chuckled, but it was obvious that he didn't quite believe what Lu Tan said.

"By the way, you sent a message before saying that you were going to collect materials, and you are still working now?"

"It's been taken out."

"So you're going to post a new video?"

"It's almost there, but it's not finished yet."

Lu Jian looked at his editing software.

"That's a pity. I originally wanted to go out for a meal or something during the Mid-Autumn Festival."

Feng Yu said casually.

"Aren't you going home during the Mid-Autumn Festival?"

Lu Tan remembered that Feng Yu didn't seem to be from Jiangcheng.

"I won't go back. My mother will go on a blind date with me as soon as I get home. It will be very troublesome."

There was a hint of helplessness in Feng Yu's voice.

"You can hide from the first grade of junior high school, but you can't hide from the fifteenth grade."

Lu Tan answered seriously.

"...Do you have time to come out during the Mid-Autumn Festival?"

Feng Yu was stunned for a moment before forcibly ending the topic.

"The Mid-Autumn Festival may not be possible, but the National Day is fine."

After a symbolic look at the calendar, Lu Jian replied.

He pays attention to continuity in his work, and the movie will be ready by October.

"How about we make a date for dinner on November and watch a movie or something?"

"Okay."

Lu Tan thought for a moment, and since the old squad leader invited him so sincerely, he had no reason to refuse. Anyway, he was just going out for a meal, and he wouldn't miss a piece of meat.

The two chatted for a few more words before Lu Tan hung up the phone.

Putting on his shoes and going downstairs, he saw that mourning music was playing in the mourning shed, and there were voices chanting sutras and chanting Buddha's name.

Glancing inside, Lu Tiao found no trace of the old man, but found that the old man's daughter's eyes lit up when she saw him, and she quickly came over.

"I went home at noon, opened the closet and looked around, and there were all the old man's things in there."

Her expression was a little sad, and she took out a bunch of things from her arms.

"Is it a bankbook and house book?"

Lu Tan asked curiously.

"no......"

The woman showed Lu Tian the pile of things.

It's a photo.

Old, yellowed photos.

There is a young couple inside, wearing the fashionable clothes of that era, in their prime.

There are also family photos of a couple with their children, as well as some travel and daily photos.

But I don’t know since when, my wife disappeared, only a man and a girl.

Turning to the back, there are almost all photos of a naive little girl. Those photos span her infancy, childhood, and school days. Just through these photos, you can feel the love of the photographer for the girl.

It can be seen that the man here is the old man.

"My dad usually has a bad temper and is unwilling to talk to us. I always thought he disliked us, but I didn't expect..."

The woman was depressed, and she didn't know whether it was lucky or unfortunate for her to know this after her father died.

"How can there be parents who dislike their children?"

Lu Tiao laughed and waved goodbye to the woman.

Next to her, a stooped old man stood in the sunset, and their shadows overlapped, just like in the photo, the man with sad eyes forced to laugh while pulling his daughter.

That time and that moment, just like this moment.
