226. Spiders fall from the sky

The interior decoration of the church is very good, with a classical atmosphere, and it is clean and tidy, with no trace of wear and tear at all.

These people wearing black suits and holding briefcases sat in a row, waiting to listen to the priest's words.

And the priest was not wearing a black suit, but a long gown, and he was holding a book in his hand.

He looked around at the people in the audience, and his eyes stayed on Lu Jian and others for a moment before continuing to pick up the book.

"Today we are going to talk about the content of "The Deep Road"..."

Surprisingly, he did not recite scriptures or scriptures, but told stories.

This story sounds like a horror story at first glance, but the priest told it very calmly, his voice did not rise and fall, and there was no emotion, so it was not scary at all.

Drizzt listened carefully and realized something was wrong.

This plot seems a bit similar to what I experienced last night.

Especially the monster that attacks the protagonist sounds like a rat man.

"Is this also a book from the ancient capital?"

Drizzt was curious.

"People here gather together to listen to stories written in the ancient capital. What kind of beliefs and customs are these?"

Shia also felt strange.

After the story was told, all the townspeople seemed intoxicated, and the priest immediately led everyone to pray.

"Thank you to our Lord for giving us life, food, and a home to live in. We will dedicate everything to you, fulfill your wishes, and respond to your will..."

It sounded very boring, but Lu Tian and others still pretended to read a few sentences along with it.

"Let's all disperse."

The priest waved his hand, and the people tiptoed and left the church in a strange manner.

Only three people, including Lu Jian, were left.

The priest noticed them and asked.

"Is there anything else you can do?"

"I want to know where the ancient capital is?"

Lu Tiao got straight to the point and stood up to ask.

"My Lord is here."

Surprisingly, the priest did not hide anything, but answered directly.

"My Lord...that means you just prayed to the ancient capital? Is he a god?"

Shia seemed to be very sensitive about these beliefs, she asked.

"Our Lord is the God who created everything, the supreme Creator who gives us life, and the great being who is omniscient and omnipotent."

The priest said in a preaching tone.

"Where is he?"

Drizzt felt that there might be something wrong with the priest's mind, so he asked.

"My Lord is here."

The priest repeated the sentence.

"In this church?"

Drizzt felt that the other party was perfunctory with him.

"It's going to be night soon. If you wander on the streets, you may be in danger. Either stay here or go to a hotel."

The priest suddenly spoke.

"Night? Wasn't it just daytime?"

Drizzt was puzzled.

"It's getting dark."

Lu Jian looked out the window, and the originally bright sky was suddenly infected by the sunset, turning orange.

"?"

Drizzt felt something was wrong. He walked out of the church and saw that the town was indeed almost entering darkness.

"Is there something wrong with the flow of time here?"

Having experienced the inconsistent flow of time in foreign lands, Drizzt also knew very well that some great beings could indeed interfere with time.

But can ancient people do such a thing?

He doesn't believe it.

"Stay here or go to a hotel?"

Shia also came to the door.

"Go to the hotel and at least ask other people."

Lu Tiao seemed to notice something and walked out of the church.

Night fell quickly, and the three of them walked along the road to the building with the hotel sign, and walked in the door as the last ray of sunset faded.

There was no one else in the hotel, the lobby was empty except for a man dressed as a boss sitting there with a book in his hand and reading.

Lu Jian took a look and saw that the book seemed to be written by the ancient capital. The cover showed a spider with a human face hanging from the ceiling, while the people on the ground were unaware of it. The title of the book was "Spider in the Corner".

"Could there be spiders falling from the sky at night?"

he joked, coming to the hotel owner.

"We want accommodation."

"If you want to stay, it's on the second floor. The key is here."

The boss took out the key as if he had been waiting for a long time.

"Don't you charge money?"

Lu Tan took the key.

"You are all my master's guests, you don't need to pay."

The boss said quietly.

"Then do you have anything to eat here? I'm a little hungry. If possible, I'd like to drink hot pork ribs soup with some radish. Braised pork would be best, as well as stir-fried vegetables and braised fish. By the way,

Rice, is there any rice?”

Lu Trip clucked.

"Just wait a moment."

The boss's voice was calm. He led a few people to the table, asked them to sit down, and then walked into a room.

"Do you really dare to eat the food here?"

Drizzt was puzzled.

"I heard about a city where all the buildings are made of food and look delicious. However, once you eat the food there, you will be bound to that town forever and can never leave.

, and finally turned into food, waiting for the arrival of the next person.”

The detective told stories about the abandoned city to scare children.

"I've heard similar stories to this one. They were used to scare those greedy children."

Shia said seriously and looked at the direction the boss was leaving.

"I'm hungry too."

"You vomited out everything you ate. It's strange that you're not hungry."

Lu Tran complained, and then he felt that the air around him was not flowing in the right direction, so he immediately changed his words.

"I mean, you should take some nutrition."

The wind stopped.

After chatting about the situation in the town, after waiting for a while, the boss brought out dinner.

Radish and pork ribs soup, braised pork, braised fish, stir-fried vegetables, and rice were exactly what Lu Tian requested.

Lu Tan immediately picked up his chopsticks, took two mouthfuls of rice, and ate a piece of braised pork.

Seeing that he was eating so deliciously, Shia also imitated the chopsticks and took a sip of the soup.

The two of them devoured it, making Drizzt terrified.

Just when Drizzt saw that there was really nothing wrong with the food and was about to pick up his chopsticks, Lu Tan suddenly raised his head from the bowl, with rice grains still stuck to the corners of his mouth, and shouted.

"It's over!"

Drizzt shook his chopsticks and almost dropped them. He was a little flustered and asked hurriedly.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong with your food?"

"No, I just thought that since I can even make these dishes, I should order some more difficult and rare dishes that I can't usually eat, such as big lobster, king crab, snowflake beef, etc.

What a loss."

Lu Tan felt very sorry.

"What shoes?"

Drizzt had never heard of these things Lu Jian said and was a little confused for a moment.

But he suddenly saw something falling from the ceiling on Lu Jian's shoulder.

Drizzt took a closer look and quickly recognized that it was a furry and patterned spider!

He quickly raised his head and saw countless spiders hanging densely on the ceiling. They were moving with the wind and slowly falling towards the table.
