When all the monks heard this, they all raised their heads and looked up.
I saw a golden brocade flag fluttering in the wind on the top of the high platform on Xiaoling Mountain.
Why move the flag?
"Amitabha~"
Li Chen looked slightly sideways, but it was Zen Master Hongren from Shiqiao Zen Monastery.
The old monk is sitting upright, his white beard hanging down.
"The wind blows and the flags move."
When the group of monks heard this, some nodded, some shook their heads, and some did not move.
But at this moment, a chuckle came from not far away, and all the monks followed the sound. It was also an old monk.
But it was Zen Master Shandao of Xitian Temple who was about the same age as Zen Master Hongren.
Zen Master Shandao is wide and fat. It is hard to imagine that he can achieve such a figure even if he is a vegetarian, but he is lying on his side on the mountain peak, very casually.
At this time, he chuckled several times, although it was unintentional, but it made Zen Master Hongren slightly stunned.
The two were world-famous in debating scriptures. They occasionally competed on the same stage many times, but there was no winner or loser. At this time, neither one was convinced by the other.
"How does Zen Master Shandao laugh?"
Zen Master Hongren had suppressed his anger in his tone, but Zen Master Shandao smiled disapprovingly and said: "When the flags move, you know the wind is blowing."
As soon as these words came out, the monks changed their minds again.
Just like before when Zen Master Hongren finished speaking, some nodded, some shook their heads, and some remained indifferent.
"Are the flags moving? Or the wind?"
Inadvertently, the monks began to spray each other in the air.
"What a joke! If the flags move, they will move. I don't care if the wind moves them or not!"
"Bullshit! If the wind doesn't move, how can the flag move? Are you blowing it?"
The Li Zong debate itself was a group debate, and now Li Chen has just put forward his arguments.
The real debate has not yet begun.
"Amitabha."
A Buddha's chant resounded across the peaks.
Everyone looked at the sound and saw Li Chen standing at the highest point with his hands clasped together and his eyes slightly sunken. With the smell of wine, he used the wine dragon chant and said: "It's not the wind that moves, it's not the flags that move, it's the heart of a benevolent person that moves."
The sound surrounded the peaks and spread far away.
On the high platform opposite the Zen forest, Abbot Yinfa suddenly opened his eyes, a light flashed in his eyes, and after a long time he said: "The heart of the benevolent is moved!"
"This slayer of Buddha should be my supreme ascetic!"
As soon as these words came out, the monks on the high platform were shocked.
They are all eminent monks from major Zen monasteries in the world. When they heard Abbot Yinfa's words, their faces couldn't help but change.
What does the Supreme Samana mean?
It means the supreme in Buddhism.
"Can this Buddhist disciple who kills living beings succeed in establishing a sect?!"
Being able to successfully establish a sect in the auspicious Dharma assembly is the highest honor of Buddhism.
"I don't think so. No one has successfully established a clan for hundreds of years."
"I'm afraid it's hard to get the title of Supreme Samana."
There are monks who are negative and there are monks who are supportive.
"That's not necessarily the case. This life-killing Buddha was named 'Master Lihuang' by Emperor Zhou!"
"Besides, the previous debates were indeed wonderful. When it comes to discussing Buddhism, it is indeed difficult to meet an opponent."
In the crowd, Monk Pukong smiled and thought to himself: It is not unfair to lose to the Supreme Samana.
Sure enough, this life-killing Buddha has the appearance of a Buddha.
But next to him, the little monk Miaodi was worried.
Debating a clan is a matter of life and death.
White Horse Temple is located in Chang'an Prefecture, close to the divine capital.
Before Lei Yin Buddha became a monk, he was still the eighth prince of Zhou Dynasty.
He is a useless prince who indulges in Buddhist scriptures every day. He doesn't care about power or the throne at all.
In addition to eating, drinking, and having diarrhea every day, I would stay in the Sutra Pavilion and read scriptures.
After he finished reading all the scriptures, he went to the surrounding temples to teach and practice.
Because White Horse Temple is right next to the Divine Capital, and it is also a world-famous ancient temple.
Therefore, the eighth prince often came here to borrow scriptures, and Monk Miaodi also met him several times.
At that time, the eighth prince gave people the impression that he was a devout believer who did not understand rights and stayed away from disputes.
Finally one day, the eighth prince traveled to the Western Regions and became a monk at Daleiyin Temple.
Miao Di admired the eighth prince very much, but his master said, "The world will be in chaos."
The wonderful truth was not understood at that time, but as the name of Leiyin Buddha spread throughout the country, many changes occurred in Buddhism.
Many ancient temples gradually came under the control of the Great Leiyin Temple, and the Leiyin Buddha gradually showed his ambition.
It was not until the auspicious Dharma assembly five years ago that my uncle, Zen Master Xiangyan, became the established monk. However, he was plotted by someone in the Zen forest and the establishment of the sect failed.
Not long after returning to White Horse Temple, he passed away in the West.
Before he died, he informed Monk Miaoti of some of his guesses.
That is to say, Miao Di later told Li Chen's secret that there was a secret method in Daleiyin Temple that could break the mind.
As long as the secret method is activated, the monk who establishes the sect will inevitably become confused and the establishment of the sect will fail.
It's a pity that he didn't expect that Li Chen would eventually become an established monk.
He shook his head, hoping that Li Chen would be more careful.
On the other side, in the Zen forest, the monks were lost in thought.
It's not the flags that move, it's not the wind that moves, it's the heart of a benevolent person that moves.
Buddhist practice is to learn to "break the appearance". The so-called breaking the appearance is to understand the "truth" inside through the "false appearance" and "appearance" of everything we see with the naked eye.
What the two eminent monks were arguing about was that everyone could see the appearance of flags dancing in the wind, but the truth behind it was "the wind was moving" or "the flags were moving"?
"Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra": "Emptiness is form, form is emptiness."
"The Vajra Prajna Paramita Sutra: What should be transformed into the unreal part": "All conditioned dharmas are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows, dew, and electricity, and should be observed in this way."
What the naked eye sees are all empty appearances, and everything is moved by the heart.
Whether the flags are moving or the wind is moving, it is actually just the monk's heartbeat.
So at this moment, all the monks were silent.
What I said just now is the same as Hong Zhong Da Lu, the feeling of sudden enlightenment for monks.
But someone soon broke the calm.
"Amitabha."
"May I ask if Master Li Chen is moved at this time?"
Li Chen opened his eyes slightly. Although the man's face was a bit raw, the monk's robes were vaguely visible.
This person is none other than Monk Bensheng of Huangxing Temple.
Huangxing Temple is second only to Daguangming Temple in Feiluzhou.
This monk Bensheng is also famous, but he is better at vajra methods than Buddhism.
Li Zongbian itself is a Zen and martial arts debate.
Buddhism is one aspect, and martial arts practice is also another aspect.
Before Li Chen could respond, Monk Bensheng had already taken the lead.
Li Chen narrowed his eyes and felt a strong wind blowing in front of him, and thought to himself: "Good luck!"
The next moment, there was a great golden light all over the body, and there were shadows of Bodhi monks and dragons and elephants in cassocks.
But it is the shadow of a giant Buddha, standing between heaven and earth.
Bang~
Li Chen did not take action, but when Monk Bensheng's fist fell on him, golden threads flew out and wrapped around his fist.
Monk Bensheng was so shocked that he concentrated all his strength into a punch. At this time, he was entangled in the golden thread and had nowhere to vent.
