Chapter 35 Witness and Inheritance

The door of the conference room hall was opened, and Calvin and 10 paladins, who had been waiting outside for a long time, filed into the conference hall.

When all the officers present saw Calvin, they all stood up and looked at him to show respect.

A group of high-ranking officers headed by the Supreme Mentor Walden stared at the young man in front of them.

They seemed to see the hope of the Legion in him, and the possibility of the Emperor making his last strategic decision on the direction of humanity before he sat on the throne.

He is not only the hope of the Gray Knights, but also the hope of the human empire in the future.

Walden walked through the crowd and walked to Calvin and said to him: "Young man, maybe you don't know the significance of your arrival to us, but now you should understand that you are special to us in a certain sense.

I don't require you to understand this now, but with the common will of all of us, we hope to witness your final trial to join the group. So, what is your opinion on this?"

Calvin looked at the people in front of him with solemn faces like pilgrims, and vaguely understood that this was an important event beyond his imagination.

He didn't hesitate much. The soldier's instinct allowed him to straighten his already huge body and responded to the Supreme Master in front of him: "This is also my honor!"

This was what the Supreme Master Walden was waiting for. He looked back at the people behind him, and then waved his hand concisely: "Let's go, Hall of Fear."

After saying that, he led Calvin and the officers and paladins (champion swordsmen of the battle group) behind him towards the last obstacle, or the procedure, before Calvin could join the battle group.

The Hall of Fear is located on the same deepest level as the Boneyard guarded by the Ferryman Brothers. Except for the occasional trial of new recruits, few people visit here.

Like the Boneyard, they are the closest places to the location of the unspeakable demonic seal under Titan.

This is a special place that was discovered only after the Gray Knights established their army and came to Titan.

Also because of the special nature of this place, the evil thoughts and fragments emitted by the unique demons here are naturally used as a place to identify the purity of recruits.

A Gray Knight recruit who successfully persists here for 48 hours will have his faith recognized by the entire Chapter.

Therefore, this is the last threshold for recruits to lead to the recruit welcome dinner in Victory Hall; or, it is also a convenient way to the burial ground separated by a wall.

Today is different from the past. Under the leadership of the Supreme Master Walden, a luxurious team consisting of 10 highest-ranking officers of the Gray Knights, 10 champion swordsmen (paladins) and our protagonist Calvin came.

Here we are.

Before entering the hall, in order not to interfere with the ceremony, everyone except Calvin put on special cloaks that isolated psychic vision.

Then, led by the Supreme Master, the entire team filed in, formed a circle and sat down at the edge of the hall.

The center point of the circle is Calvin's location. Here they accompany and monitor Calvin for a long 48 hours.

During this period of time, no matter what temptations and interference the devils tried against Calvin, they would not intervene.

Only in the worst case scenario, if they confirm that Calvin has fallen, will they swarm up and carry out his final execution.

But everyone in this hall is well aware of the upcoming test. For those who can complete the "Holy Blood Trial" head-on, the 48 hours of difficulty experienced in this room will probably be easier than sitting in meditation.

.

This is also true. Not long after Calvin sat down, there were devil fragments who did not know whether to live or die and tried to get close to Calvin.

Then, the moment the protagonist noticed it, he was annihilated by his gaze...

There were also greater degrees of temptation, but only a few times. After resisting Calvin's gaze, they barely made contact with his body, and then undoubtedly made a valuable contribution to the restoration of Calvin's soul.

They were shattered in the wail, and the souls and energy attached to all the fragments were plundered.

When they tried to be reborn from the marks they left in the subspace, something more interesting happened.

In the eyes of these low-level demons, this robbery was originally just a short-term setback. As long as they could return to the subspace, they could be resurrected there with the help of the remaining marks.

What they can't see is that in countless timelines, the same Calvin has carried out the same plunder on the same them.

Therefore, when all the possibilities represented by all timelines are all reduced to one point by Calvin, who is like a harness, they disappear forever because there is no possibility of resurrection in cause and effect.

The night was uneventful, and the demon sealed underground did not feel threatened, as if these fragments had never existed.

It just instinctively felt that the guy in human skin above him was not an existence that he could try to transgress.

As one of the representatives of the countless power fragments of the Evil God in the subspace, its sudden weakening naturally caused the Evil God himself to peek into reality.

But after several rounds of searching and fruitless attempts in the long river of time, the evil god finally had no choice but to retreat unwillingly.

He could not find any man-made traces in the long river of time, and in the end he could only conclude that he either never had the power represented by these fragments, or he fell into the calculations of his "peers".

Thus, in the depths of the distant subspace, with the angry howl of a huge figure on a certain brass throne, an eternal holy war between gods began meaninglessly.

No reason is needed, just like their countless previous wars.

48 hours passed by in a flash, and in the eyes of the Gray Knights whose bodies were stronger than mortals, this was just a brief meditation.

In their eyes, Calvin's counterattack against the demonic invasion did not seem to be any different from theirs.

As the brass clock at the door rang, everyone slowly stood up. When Calvin heard the sound, he also woke up from the meditation that he had been sitting in in the second half.

Calvin was taken by Walden to the auditorium located on the top of Titan facing Terra.

After entering the chapel, everyone spontaneously stood in order along the red carpets on both sides, waiting to witness the arrival of that great moment.

Here, under the witness of the sacred Titan Sword in the center of the auditorium, he was given the original Aegis Power Armor. (In order to find parts that matched his huge size, the Chapter's equipment sergeants temporarily moved from vacancies to

Remove some suitable parts from the Aegis Dreadnought armor.)

Then, Walden pulled out the dagger he always wore on his waist and inserted it into Calvin's waist.

Walden turned around, facing the Titan Sword on the relic shelf, and solemnly recited the oath that had been passed down for thousands of years:

"Use faith as armor!"

"Use faith as armor"

"Use faith as a strong shield!"

"Use faith as a strong shield!"

"Arm our souls with pure nature!"

"Arm our souls with pure nature!"

"I would like to use this body to show the majesty of the emperor!"

"I would like to use this body to show the majesty of the emperor!"

"I am, the Holy Gray Knight!"

"I am, the Holy Gray Knight!"

"I am the enemy of chaos!"

"I am the enemy of chaos!"

When the last words of the oath resounded through the chapel, behind Calvin, everyone in the chapel also knelt down collectively in a solemn atmosphere.

In the solemn and sacred candlelight in the chapel, they and Calvin coincidentally repeated the last sentence of the oath:

"I am the enemy of chaos!"

***The author has something to say***

Book friends, don’t imitate me. I really feel sorry for affecting you because of my routine in the underworld. I still want to say it again here:

Don't stay up late, staying up late is the "privilege" of us coders

Good night, everyone who likes this book.
