Chapter 1 Grimace, Curse

There are thousands of ways to die in this world, and the cruelest one is to be eaten by yourself.

This is how my father died.

When he was 26 years old, he suddenly went crazy and locked himself in the house, screaming incessantly.

Grandma and mom were banging on the door like crazy outside, but grandpa finally kicked the wooden door down and rushed in, but it was too late.

My father was lying on the ground dying, and most of the flesh on his body was bitten off, and the blood was dripping, which was shocking.

Before he died, my father said in a trembling voice: "There is... something is going to eat me."

Yes, it's not that my dad wants to eat himself, but something wants to eat him.

My father's tragic death caused an uproar in the village. Everyone said it was because my father had a human face on his heart when he was born.

They were right. When my father was born, he had a human face right next to his heart.

At first I thought it was a birthmark, but as I grew older, the face became clearer and clearer. Finally, it was as vivid as a five-dimensional three-dimensional painting. The facial features and eyebrows were clearly visible, but the face had its eyes closed.

.

Grandma took my dad to the hospital. The doctor said it was a parasitic fetus, and some elders in the village said it was human facial sores.

Life is like a human being and a person dies, a horse is born and a horse is born and a horse dies. My father will not live long.

When that face opens its eyes, it will be the day of my father's death.

Sure enough, the reason why my dad died tragically that day was because the face suddenly opened its eyes.

What no one expected was that after my father died, that terrifying face would be transferred to my body.

It also grows on my heart.

The people in the village started talking crazy.

"The old Li family did evil things back then, and retribution has finally come."

"His son died so tragically, now it's his grandson's turn."

"I heard that the men in their family will live short lives and die miserably for generations to come. The sores on their faces are a curse."

"Oh, it's really pitiful. But then again, poor people must be hateful. Who would let their family do evil?"

Instead of showing sympathy for our family's tragic experience, the villagers gloated and even applauded.

Grandma's face was ashen, and her whole figure seemed to be petrified.

Grandpa smoked one cigarette after another, and his face looked horribly ugly.

My mother and I were terrified. Dad's death was a big enough blow to us, but soon, when this human face opened its eyes, I would die as tragically as my father.

Grandma finally broke out and pounced on Grandpa like a wild beast.

"Old man, why did you do that back then? Why did you commit evil? Now retribution has come..."

Grandpa smoked a cigarette and said nothing, letting grandma's fist fall on him.

I asked my mother, what evil did my grandfather do back then? That caused our family to get such retribution?

But my mother just shook her head in tears, not knowing whether it was because she didn't want to tell me or because she didn't know.

Grandpa finally stamped out the cigarette butt on the ground, and said with a livid face: "I will bear all the sins I did back then, so don't harm my grandson."

Then he went back to the house and simply packed a few clothes, took some money and left.

Grandma cried and held him back, asking him where he was going.

Grandpa said to me: "I'm going to find an expert to undo the curse on my grandson. My grandson can't die."

Grandpa left like this. Unexpectedly, this departure lasted for more than ten years.

Grandma and mom thought he died outside.

Twelve years later, grandpa suddenly came back.

At that time, I had already been admitted to a university in the city. Over the years, because of a human face on my heart, my whole family was worried. I was really afraid that one day this face would open its eyes and I would die.

But the strange thing is that for more than ten years, the human face has kept its eyes closed and never opened them, so I have lived until now in fear.

My mother called me and told me that my grandfather was back and asked me to go home quickly.

After asking for leave from school, I hurried back to my hometown.

The first time I saw my grandpa, I was shocked.

The burly grandpa from before is gone. Now he is as thin as a stick. His body is covered with dense, criss-crossing scars, and he is even missing an eye.

I don't know if the eye was gouged out by someone or something else, but there is only a hole left.

One of his legs was also lame and he could only drag it on the ground.

My heart was beating hard. I couldn't imagine what my grandfather had encountered outside more than ten years ago.

Grandma and mom kept crying.

"I have found a way to save my grandson." Grandpa's voice also became hoarse, as if his vocal cords were broken.

He grabbed my hand and took me to the old house without any explanation, and told my grandma and mother not to disturb me.

Our old house has been abandoned for many years. Like a dying old man, it may collapse at any time.

Through the weeds in the yard as tall as a person, grandpa took me into the house.

I looked at him in fear, wondering what he was going to do?

The coldness and desolation in the old house made me feel uncomfortable all over.

Grandpa lit another cigarette. It seemed that only smoking could temporarily relieve some of the pain and sadness in his heart.

"Don't you want to know what evil I did back then? I'll tell you."

While smoking, my grandfather told me in a hoarse voice a tragic past event that had been buried for many years.

Time goes back to 1942, and history will remember this year forever.

Because in this year a great famine broke out throughout Henan.

People who have never experienced hunger cannot imagine how miserable this famine is?

And my grandparents were witnesses of the great famine.

Grandpa said that they had not eaten for several days at that time. They could still eat some bark and weeds before, but later they lost even those things.

Grandpa was so hungry that he had no strength at all, and his belly was almost pressed against his lower back.

Grandma was a little better, because she was pregnant at the time, and grandpa gave her everything he could eat.

But even so, he will starve to death sooner or later.

Grandpa got up from the ground and said in a very weak voice: "Wait, I will find you something to eat."

Grandma wanted to stop him, but she had no strength left.

Unexpectedly, grandpa actually found something to eat, and it turned out to be meat.

Grandma asked Grandpa what kind of meat is this?

Grandpa didn't answer. Grandma let him eat, but grandpa waved her hand and said that he was lucky enough to find a pile of hay on the roadside.

From then on, grandpa brought the meat to grandma every few hours for her to eat.

Grandma finally gained strength and the baby in her belly was saved.

On this day, grandpa dragged his tired body out again, and grandma followed quietly. She wanted to know where did grandpa get the meat? In these famine years, when there were no grass roots to eat, how could it be possible?

Is there meat?

Grandma saw grandpa entering an abandoned cave dwelling outside the village. A woman was hanging on a rope. Half of the flesh on the woman's body was gone, but the other half of her body was still intact, and she was even wearing half of her costume.

Grandma suddenly screamed and fainted.
