Chapter 25 Weird White Light

A stage appeared in the white light.

There were actors in costumes walking faintly on the stage.

Lu Mingsi and I were there.

The little patrolman stared at the stage in the white light with wide eyes. Suddenly he shouted: "What is this? Who is there?"

The atmosphere immediately changed after the shouting.

An anxious and cold breath burst out of the white light with a swishing sound and shot towards us, like a long sword falling from the sky.

At that moment, I really felt the danger coming, and instinctively shouted: "No, run away."

Lu Ming and I turned around and ran.

The young patrolman's body stiffened, and he seemed to feel something was wrong, but when he wanted to run away, it was already too late.

The cold breath turned into a long snake at a speed visible to the naked eye, and swung around the little patrolman's body.

Then, Lu Ming and I tightened our bodies, and we were also entangled by the cold snake.

The next second, the cold aura that entangled us suddenly retracted, forming a powerful force that sucked us into the white light.

My head was dizzy and before I lost consciousness, I only heard the frightened screams of Lu Ming and the little patrolman, and then I knew nothing else.

I don’t know how long it took? Suddenly, the sound of gongs and drums sounded in my ears.

Lu Ming, the young patrolman, and I sat up from the ground almost at the same time.

Looking around, we are no longer in the ghost building.

In front of us was a small, dilapidated, muddy village, with a gray-blue sky, low brick houses, and narrow muddy roads.

There was a stage set up at the entrance of the village not far ahead, and it was full of people. These people were old and young, male and female. They were all wearing coarse clothes. They should be villagers in this village.

A man held a gong and beat it back and forth on the stage, shouting: "The show is about to begin, the show is about to begin."

Then, a burst of music sounded, and several actors dressed as soldiers began to do somersaults on the stage, and then an old boy walked onto the stage while singing babblingly.

The three of us looked at each other and were all stunned. We were sitting on a piece of muddy grass at a loss, not knowing where we were.

"Let me check, where are you? Are you dreaming?" The young patrolman actually touched his face, then turned to look at the two of us.

"Aren't we looking for that Mi Rou in that building? How did we get here?"

We were both equally confused.

Suddenly, Lu Ming raised his finger and pointed at a stone tablet standing not far from the village entrance: "Brother Yang, look."

Three big characters are engraved on the stone tablet: Shangyuan Village.

"Shangyuan Village?" Lu Ming and I shouted almost at the same time.

The area where our school used to be was a small village called Shangyuan Village. It was during the Republic of China. After many years, the village was demolished and a school was built now.

I stood up suddenly and realized that the villagers were not dressed like modern people. They were wearing coarse cloth clothes, double-breasted jackets, bloomers, and melon-skin hats from the Republic of China period.

Have we traveled through time?

Couldn't the white light that appeared in the ghost building be a time tunnel? We have traveled to Shangyuan Village during the Republic of China?

Hey, this is totally crazy.

No, it’s not time travel. I have a strong intuition that it’s more evil and terrifying than time travel.

The three of us stood up and stared at the stage not far ahead.

One by one, the actors took turns on stage, singing, chanting, sitting and beating, and there were all kinds of tricks.

The villagers in the audience were very lively, bursting into cheers from time to time.

It's a happy scene.

Suddenly, the man just now ran onto the stage again, banging the gong in his hand and shouting: "Next show, "The Peony Pavilion", Du Liniang, played by Xiao Jinhua."

Little Golden Flower? Is she the actress who was half eaten by her grandma?

Sure enough, the sound of silk strings sounded again, and a female actor in a blue-grey costume walked onto the stage leisurely, swinging her long sleeves embroidered with peonies.

Her long singing voice is full of sadness, sadness and endless charm.

Everyone was attracted by her. The villagers in the audience were all calm and focused, staring up at the actor. Even the children who were playing and playing were quiet.

The three of us were also attracted by this female actress, and her gentle singing seemed to take us into another world.

However, the actor's face was hard to see clearly, as if it was covered in a mosaic.

My heart skipped a beat, it was her, it was her.

This weird and unfathomable actor had a tryst with my grandfather back then. Later, during the famine years, my grandfather let his pregnant grandmother eat her flesh. As a result, my father was born with a curse on his body and died tragically.

Then, the face that represented the evil curse was transferred to my body, turning me from a college student with a bright future to the current situation where my future is uncertain.

The source of everything is her.

But what is she?

Half a year ago, I saw her in the school's ghost building, and then I saw her in the coffin in the living room of Lao Hu's house.

Now, she appeared in front of me again.

There seems to be a kind of guidance in the dark, guiding me to find the truth and reveal her true face.

But really thinking about it is so hazy and unfathomable.

Suddenly, the little golden flower on the stage flicked her sleeves, looked straight at me, and shouted in a long and dramatic voice: "You...have made me...so miserable."

ah……"

My body shook violently, and the pupils of my eyes dilated instantly.

Then, the villagers who were watching the show attentively were all shocked. Their faces instantly became stiff, their bodies stiffened, and their eyes began to turn red.

The next second, they suddenly turned into a group of thugs, rushing onto the stage crazily, punching and kicking the actors on the stage.

One of the villagers picked up a brick, and with a bang, he opened the head of the old actor.

Some people were screaming, some were howling. It was orderly just a moment ago, but now it's chaos.

There was also a villager who took a machete from nowhere, rushed to the stage, and chopped off the head of one of the actors.

Like a chopped watermelon, the head rolled onto the stage, and a pair of eyes fixed on it with unblinking eyes.

But Little Golden Flower was still singing, gently waving her sleeves amidst the cries and riots, as if everything had nothing to do with her.

The three of us were stunned.

Lu Ming turned pale with fright. He grabbed my arm tightly and said with chattering teeth: "Brother Yang, are we dreaming? Is this true?"

I pinched myself and it hurt. This was definitely not a dream.

But why do we go back to Shangyuan Village in the past?

Seeing the river of blood flowing on the stage, it became a hell on earth.

I don't know if it was out of a professional mission, but the young patrolman suddenly pulled out a pistol from his waist and shouted at the chaotic and angry scene: "Stop it..."

Then, with a bang, he pulled the trigger toward the sky.

For a moment, the hell on earth stopped, and the thugs turned their blood-red eyes and looked towards us.

Can they see us?

I thought the little patrol officer was just a low-ranking small-time police officer or a co-op, but I didn't expect that he actually carried a gun. This was definitely not the equipment that a small-time police officer or co-op should have. I underestimated him.

At this time, like a god, he raised his pistol and shouted again: "What are you doing? Stop it."

Lu Ming and I were also stunned.

It's a pity that the little patrolman's majestic appearance only made them stand still for a few seconds.

After a while, the group of thugs suddenly changed their target and rushed towards the three of us.

When it was over, I felt a chill in my heart. Not only did the little patrolman fail to suppress them, but he actually caused trouble.

Seeing the thugs approaching with bricks, stones and sticks, the little patrolman also panicked.

"Don't come over here. If you come over again, I'll shoot you."

The villagers seemed not to have heard it, and rushed over like a tidal wave.

"Run." Lu Ming and I turned around and ran almost at the same time.

The little patrolman was a step too late. He didn't even have time to pull the trigger before he was knocked down by the surging mob.

The pistol fell to the ground and was trampled to pieces by the thugs.

Fortunately, he was a patrolman after all, and he had some skills. He knocked over several villagers with his fists and feet, but there were too many people.

I saw a villager hit the young patrolman on the back of the head with a very thick stick.

After the bang, he stopped moving.

He died, he actually died.

This was not in reality, this was in the past time and space, but he was still beaten to death.
