Chapter 46 Intuition

"Long time no see, Mr. Brutus." After Brutus sat on the first floor of the Chamber of Commerce for a while, the manager came down from upstairs and greeted him.

If half a month can be considered a long time, then it is indeed a long time since we last saw each other... Brutus stood up and returned the greeting to the manager.

"Mr. Brutus, do you plan to buy new shields when you come back? The Chamber of Commerce just recently purchased a batch of new shields, and they can give you a friendly price."

"Ah, let's talk about this later." Brutus thought that one fan would cost more than ten silver lattice, so he might as well forget about buying it, but it would be better to take a look at it. "I came back mainly because I wanted to buy some

food."

The manager's eyelids twitched slightly, but Brutus naturally didn't notice it.

He asked with a smile: "So how much does Mr. Brutus plan to buy? Although we also sell grain here, the amount is relatively large."

"Don't you know that one person's annual income is enough to meet the minimum standard?" Brutus roughly calculated that his money should be enough.

The manager felt that Brutus might have misunderstood the larger amount, but he still nodded: "That's enough."

"I don't know which one you want to buy. If it needs to be stored for a long time, I recommend you to buy the fine wheat bread from our chamber of commerce. It can even be stored for two or three years in a dry environment."

"Won't it dry into a stick?" Brutus thought that according to common sense, any bread would turn into a dry breadstick without packaging.

"Of course not. This is made through a special process. If you later find that there is a problem with the bread while it is properly stored, our Chamber of Commerce will compensate you five times the amount."

Brutus thought for a moment and thought it was okay.

"Of course, considering that the warehouse in your yard may not be enough, we will give you a free storage box that can hold the next half year's supply."

"So how much does it cost in total?"

"15 silver lats." The manager blurted out without any calculation.

"Okay." Brutus took off the money bag from his waist and handed 15 silver coins to the clerk at the counter.

Seeing that Brutus had paid the bill, the manager suggested: "Then Mr. Brutus, come with me, and I will take you to see the weapons and armor in the Chamber of Commerce warehouse."

Brutus followed the manager and came to the large warehouse underground of the Chamber of Commerce building. Behind the door were filled with all kinds of weapons, armor and shields.

He has never seen so much equipment at the same time, and even the equipment in the guard camp's warehouse is less than a quarter of the equipment here.

"Mr. Brutus, I'm curious as to why you suddenly want to buy so much grain."

"Huh?" Brutus' eyes moved away from the dazzling array of equipment in front of him and stopped at the manager, "These are some of my guesses."

"Appreciate further details."

Brutus thought that there was nothing to hide about this matter, so he explained briefly: "The main reason is that so many people suddenly poured into Tatto Town in a short period of time, and there must be many problems with the food supply. If this year

If the autumn agricultural harvest is poor, then a food shortage crisis is very likely."

"Of course, even a normal agricultural harvest will still cause problems in the face of a population that has doubled several times. Although I don't know if the viscounty has enough reserves, I am sure that I do not have enough reserves."

"It's rare to see someone like Mr. Brutus who knows everything he has learned." The manager praised.

"Is there a possibility that even if other people see it, they don't have the money to buy so much."

A breath of silence instantly filled the entire warehouse. The manager coughed unnaturally and began to introduce the equipment here to Brutus.

Brutus followed the manager and looked around. The equipment sounded good. For a person with no money like him, it was just a look. But the manager didn't care about it. After all, he didn't expect Brutus.

Si was able to shell out another sum of money to buy it in a short period of time.

It's just a relationship...

"Mr. Brutus, we will deliver the grain you purchased to No. 19 Thuringia Road." The manager stood at the door and waved goodbye to Brutus.

"Thank you for your kindness." Brutus thought for a while, "I think the manager should make more preparations. There may be some big changes in the town in the future."

Although he has not noticed the signs of crisis yet, Brutus has had a vague intuition since he received the information about the rise in food prices - maybe someone is secretly planning a disaster far more dangerous than the Baron Rupp incident.

.

This disaster may come from the royal capital, but there may also be minions of these people in various places... Brutus feels that given the level he is at, he can only make all the preparations he can.

After all, he certainly cannot interfere with this process.

"Looks like I have to go find Violet to pick up some work." Brutus touched his wallet, which was shriveled again, and planned his next move.

"It's a pity that as a free citizen at the lowest level, everything seems to be separated by many layers of dense fog. I don't know where this intuition of mine comes from..." Brutus always felt that he might get it.

What kind of strange ability did I have? I didn't have this kind of intuition before.

But since I have saved my life before, I'd better believe it for the time being. Anyway, you won't lose money by hoarding food that won't spoil in a short time.

After he returned home and sat for a while, the White Horse Chamber of Commerce delivered two storage boxes to his home.

"Didn't your manager say that you would deliver a box to me? What about this one?" Brutus pointed to another box and asked the delivery boy.

"Ah, this is the reward the manager gave you. He said it was about what you said when you left." The boy conveyed the manager's instructions to Brutus, and then drove the carriage away from Thuringia Road.

.

"It seems that something is really wrong."

Brutus suddenly realized that what he said did not completely represent himself, and might also represent part of Violet's will - after all, the two had cooperated before, and their daily relationship was okay.

As the largest chamber of commerce in the viscounty, the White Horse Chamber of Commerce naturally has its own network of relationships...

"Even before the war started, there was already a feeling of turmoil." He shook his head and decided to talk to Violet tomorrow. "I don't know whether the war broke out first or the internal crisis broke out first."

"There are always smart people in the capital, so just take care of yourself."

Brutus tried to move the storage box. It was not heavy. He quickly moved the two boxes into the warehouse next to the inner courtyard, then picked one and opened it to take a look.

"I don't know how this box works. It can hold so many things and it's not heavy." He looked at the situation inside the storage box and felt that the scene in front of him was a bit strange.

The box was divided into many small compartments, with a piece of bread stuffed inside. He tried to take out the bread from one compartment several times but was able to successfully take out the bread.

He only kept the two he took out at the beginning, and then stuffed the others back.

I tasted the fine wheat bread. Like the coarse wheat bread, you need to drink water to finish it safely. The taste is much better. After eating one and a half Brutus, I felt a little full, and the coarse wheat bread

It takes three to feel this way.

"It finally looks like a fantasy world." Brutus looked at the closed storage box and felt that the future journey would be much easier...
