Chapter 17 Good Brother

The Wenxiang Sect and the White Lotus Sect are actually the same thing.

Although the Wenxiang Sect never claims to be the White Lotus Sect, what it inherits is still the legacy of the White Lotus Sect.

The White Lotus Sect was popular for a while in the early Ming Dynasty, but was suppressed many times by the imperial court. Especially after the Tang Saier uprising, the White Lotus Sect fell into disrepute.

At that time, members of the White Lotus Sect, in order to avoid being pursued by the court, changed their original religious name: Maitreya Sect.

During the Zhengde period, Li Fuda, who became a commander, was the leader of the Maitreya Sect.

Later, the Maitreya Sect was suppressed by the Ming court. After several twists and turns, Wang Sen, a native of Hebei, acted in the name of Wenxiang Sect, and it grew rapidly, with followers spread all over Hebei, Shandong, Jiangxi, Jin, Henan, Qin, Sichuan and other places.

During the Tianqi period, Wang Sen's son Wang Haoxian and Xu Hongru started a rebellion, which caused great harm to Zhili and Shandong areas.

After being suppressed by the imperial court, the Wenxiang Sect went into hiding.

Unexpectedly, thanks to Jifu's natural and man-made disasters, the Wenxiang Sect is ready to move again.

Zuo Mengeng knew that the White Lotus Saint would probably come to him again in the future.

But it doesn't matter, since the hatred has been forged, he is not a passive person.

Zuo Mengeng looked at the person behind Zuo Kuan and held his hands in greeting.

"Brother Zhou, is everything okay?"

There is a strange person among Zuo Liangyu's soldiers.

This man's name is Zhou You, and his courtesy name is Sigui. He is in his twenties, and his martial arts skills are only so-so.

The strange thing is that Zuo Liangyu never takes him with him every time he goes to the battlefield, and lets him live in his handsome tent.

This kind of treatment is not even available to Zuo Mengeng, his biological son.

Moreover, Zhou You was not a servant of Zuofu, Zuo Mengeng had never seen him before.

For this reason, when he first arrived in Liaodong, Zuo Menggeng was indignant and looked for trouble in his travels.

He traveled around but never argued with him, always avoided him, and never interacted with others. He was very mysterious.

Zuo Mengeng once suspected that Zhou You was Zuo Liangyu's illegitimate son, but now that he thought about it, he probably wasn't.

In his memory, Zuo Liangyu was quite cautious about this tour, and he still had some vague respect. Unsurprisingly, this person might be carrying some secrets and stories.

Time has passed, Zuo Menggeng is different from before, and naturally he no longer has the resentment of the past.

His change surprised Zhou You.

But he was not a talkative person, so he cupped his hands and retreated to the side. His eyes were filled with a strange look, and he didn't know what he was thinking.

Zuo Mengeng accompanied Zuo Kuan and escorted the convoy back to the city.

When they were about to arrive outside the city, they met Zuo Liangyu and his party.

This cheap old man must have had all the fun of killing, and he was showing off his strength and heroic spirit. The blood all over his body added to the murderous aura, causing the soldiers guarding the city to retreat.

Seeing that Zuo Mengeng, Zuo Kuan and others returned safely, Zuo Liangyu felt relieved.

"You guys go home, I'll go talk to the local official. Is it unreasonable to let the monsters from the Wenxiang Sect do whatever they want and neglect their duties?"

Zuo Mengeng had no choice but to lead everyone back home.

After entering the door, before entering the main hall, I heard a sharp voice boasting.

"This time when the second from the left comes back, we brothers will be able to defeat each other with our two swords together. Liu Yiyuan is a treacherous villain who takes advantage of my good brother's absence. I will find a way to make him understand what will happen to Linqing City in the future.

Whose world is it?"

Xu Ruolin's voice also came out.

"Of course it's the Ming Dynasty."

"Well……"

He is not so rude and leaves people speechless.

The voice said angrily: "What do you, a woman, know? You must know that life and death are small matters, but face is big. If I don't teach that Liu Yiyuan a lesson, how can I, Zhang, hang out in Linqing from now on?"

There was no anger in Zuo Xianmei's voice.

"The Zhang family brother is also fooling around. A manly man should aim to fight in all directions. He fights in the streets, fights in brothels, and harasses the neighbors. This is a disaster all around."

"Who is Zhou Chu?"

Xu Ruolin and Zuo Xianmei laughed out loud, probably because they were shocked by this person's lack of knowledge and skills.

Zuo Mengeng stepped in and saw three young people sitting in the hall, and the atmosphere was not harmonious.

A carefree young man was huddled in a chair, swinging a folding fan in the cold weather. I don't know if he was coquettish or crazy, but he didn't look like a normal person.

He is about the same age as Zuo Mengeng, but he has a sharp mouth and monkey cheeks and is as skinny as a bamboo.

If he hadn't been wearing a gorgeous silk robe, he would have been no better than the refugees outside the city.

"Haha, why did Brother Hao Gu come to the house? Is he here to take care of his brother?"

"Oh, second from the left, I've been waiting for you."

The man rushed over, hugged Zuo Mengeng, and laughed wantonly, which was quite real.

Facing this person, Zuo Mengeng also let go of his barriers. While he was truly happy, he also felt that there was humor in the weirdness.

This man is Zuo Mengeng’s dog-meat brother, and he is also a street tyrant in Linqing.

This person’s name is really funny, he’s actually called Zhang Haogu.

He didn't realize it before, but now that he heard it, Zuo Mengeng couldn't help but suspect that Mr. Liu Baorui's cross talk was not made up out of thin air.

Even though Zhang Haogu is a dandy, his family is amazing.

The Yaozhuang Zhang family is a famous and distinguished family in Linqing.

In the early Ming Dynasty, Zhang Zhongde, the ancestor of the Zhang family, moved to Linqing. After several generations of development, the Zhang family became increasingly prosperous. Not only did it have eight hectares of fertile land, but there was also a horse farm.

After this, many celebrities emerged from the Zhang family.

The person in charge of the Zhang family today is Zhang Zhenxiu, Zhang Hao's uncle from the ancient clan.

During the Wanli period, this king served as the magistrate of Feixiang and was promoted to the head of the Ministry of War. Later, he offended the eunuchs and resigned and returned to his hometown. Among the people, Shilin was quite prestigious, and his comeback was imminent.

In addition to Zhang Zhenxiu, Zhang Zongheng, another member of the Zhang family, served as governor of Datong, and Zhang Zongling was the magistrate of Pingyuan County.

Zhang Haogu's father was Zhang Zonghuan, who was not an official but was in charge of the family business and was a wealthy local businessman.

With such a family background, Zhang Haogu was of course a rampant and no one dared to offend him.

But when he thought of the widely circulated cross talk, Zuo Mengeng couldn't help but smile.

"Brother Zhang, I met a Korean sorcerer in Liaodong. This man's fortune-telling skills are very good, and he is always accurate. After learning a little bit, I found out that Brother Zhang is a fortune-teller."

Zhang Haogu blinked, a little confused.

"What did you say?"

Zuo Mengeng's expression was very solemn, and no one could help but listen carefully.

"In terms of physiognomy, as long as Brother Zhang joins the imperial examination, it will be easy to get on the gold list, and he will have noble people to help him. Once he enters the officialdom, there will be no disadvantages. With the help of good winds, he will be promoted to three levels in a row."

Zhang Haogu shook his head and rubbed his eyes again, as if he no longer recognized Zuo Mengeng.

"Brother, could it be that I'm hysterical? I'm not even a scholar, how can I pass the Jinshi exam?"

Zuo Mengeng just insisted.

"Brother Zhang, listen to what I have to say. You have a very noble destiny, and things that are impossible for ordinary people have become a matter of course for you. Brother Zhang will be a high-ranking official in the future, but don't forget your brother."

Zhang Haogu touched his forehead, and unconsciously, his heart moved.

There was no way, although he was uneducated and incompetent, the Zhang family was a scholarly family. Every time Zhang Zonghuan met an outstanding member of the family, he would definitely deal with him severely when he came back.

If I could work as an official, my father would be able to live up to his reputation.

"What's the warlock's name?"

"Song Kanghao."

Zuo Mengeng lied without blinking an eye. Anyway, Zhang Haogu couldn't travel through historical time and space to get the truth.

Xu Ruolin and Zuo Xianmei looked at Zhang Haogu's vaguely demonic appearance and could hardly help laughing.

Fortunately, the footsteps outside were clanging and coming in as fast as a whirlwind.

"Huh, you dog official. When I make a comeback, I will never let him go."

Zuo Liangyu was furious, like a ferocious beast.

Zuo Xianmei was overjoyed and rushed to greet him.

"Daddy."

Seeing her daughter who is as beautiful as a flower, Zuo Liangyu's anger miraculously disappeared.

"Good girl, I haven't seen you for a few years and you are so old now."

Zuo Xianmei turned around and ran towards the backyard.

"I went to find my mother. She has been waiting for a long time."

Only then did Zhang Haogu come over and salute Zuo Liangyu.

"Uncle Zuo, I haven't seen you for a long time. I heard from Zuo Er that you are very majestic in Liaodong and can stop Tatar children from crying at night. I really admire you and admire you."

Zuo Liangyu knew him.

At first glance, I was not happy to see his bean sprout-like body.

"Boy from the Zhang family, since you are willing, just come over tomorrow and I will train you myself."

Zhang Haogu's face turned green and he was angry at himself for talking too much.

Of course Zuo Liangyu would not argue with a junior, so he saw the timid Xu Ruolin.

"This girl is..."

Zuo Mengeng hurriedly made the introduction.

Zuo Liangyu was shocked when he heard that she was the granddaughter of Xu Guangqi, the Minister of Rites. She did not expect to have such a distinguished guest at home.

After careful questioning, Zuo Mengeng told some of the previous events.

"Let you move slowly and don't cause trouble. Do you really think that after a few days of learning Kungfu, you can do it all in the world? You're lucky now. If you dare to do anything wrong in the future, you will not be spared."

Zuo Mengeng was extremely depressed.

There is a complete difference between how this father treats his son and how he treats his daughter!
