1552 Tang Jun counterattack

On the pitch-black battlefield, a huge figure ran over the soft ground and piles of corpses. A flare shot up into the sky, illuminating the advancing steel behemoth.

The Dwarf's machine gun fired, and the bullet hit the armor of the Type 96 main battle tank, leaving only a shallow mark on it. The tank was moving forward without any impact.

It twisted its square turret, and then pointed its main gun at a Dwarf 10 tank hidden in the distance. The next second, terrifying flames spurted out from the muzzle of the 125 mm caliber main gun.

, the airflow visible to the naked eye spread, blowing away the surrounding dwarf soldiers who were bending to avoid it.

After the deafening sound of artillery, only the buzzing sound was left in the ears of the dwarf soldiers. A shell hit the turret of the dwarf tank, deforming the tank's turret armor.

A bullet hole made by a jet of black water left the tank, and then the dwarf tank exploded into a ball of blazing flames.

The dancing flames illuminated everything around them. Some dwarf soldiers hurriedly ran past the wreckage of the tank. Soon the Tang Army tank that had just opened fire ran over the dwarfs' defense line and continued towards the depth of the dwarf troops.

Drive away.

The paratroopers of the Tang Army who followed the tank were like dragons entering the sea, quickly retaking the position they had previously guarded. In less than an hour, the place was once again occupied by the Tang Army. The results of the dwarves' busy night were instantly wiped out.

No matter how much the dwarf officers shouted, the defeated dwarf soldiers could not stop their escape. They retreated desperately and ran wildly into the distance.

A dwarf soldier held a grenade high and rushed towards the Tang Army tank in front of him. Before he could pull the grenade's safety, he was killed by Tang Army paratroopers who were cooperating with him.

Xiang Ziyu kept a safe distance from the tank around him. He didn't want to be affected by the defense device on the side of the tank turret - that device had many functions. It could instantly spray smoke to cover the tank's attack or retreat, and it could also be electrified and explode to form a barrage.

Kill approaching enemy infantry.

It is precisely because of this terrifying "defense device" that tank-tank coordination has become a technology. In the past, soldiers followed the tanks closely, but now everyone must keep a relatively safe distance.

"Thud, tut, tug!" The Tang Army's machine gun team, which had just established an advance base in a bomb crater, began to fire with its own machine guns. A row of tracer bullets passed over the attacking Tang Army soldiers and flew into the position of the dwarf troops.

The opponent was being defeated, so Xiang Ziyu certainly knew that he should take advantage of the victory and pursue it. Although his troops were very tired, he still issued the order to counterattack.

About 200 paratroopers participated in the offensive operation. They followed up at a distance from the side and rear of the tank, quickly expanding the tank's results and creating a gap of more than 200 meters in the opponent's position.

Although this width was not enough, the paratroopers did not care. They continued to attack and continued to expand the distance of the attack until they reached a place 500 meters away.

This place turned out to be a commanding height of the dwarf defense line. The Tang army did not have enough troops to capture it before. Now the dwarves' defeated troops disrupted their defense deployment, so Xiang Ziyu immediately led his troops to seize this important high ground.

Here, the Tang army could almost overlook everything around them. The sides of the high ground were full of artillery that the dwarves had not had time to retreat, as well as vehicles transporting ammunition and various armored vehicles and tanks.

At this time, Xiang Ziyu saw several tanks of the Tang Army advancing among the enemy's heavy weapons and equipment. The machine guns destroyed one vehicle after another loaded with ammunition, and the artillery overturned one vehicle after another.

A battle ready tank.

"They need support! Come down with me if you can still move! Capture the prisoners!" Xiang Ziyu ordered loudly, and then, regardless of how many people followed him, he rushed down to the high ground with an assault rifle.

He stepped on the downhill road, running one step at a time and one step at a time. Sometimes he would trip over corpses or other objects, and he would have to stumble a few times to stabilize his body.

But he didn't care. He just ran forward, rushed into the densely packed dwarf soldiers, shouted loudly that he would not kill them, and then continued to move forward without looking back.

The dwarf soldiers who didn't know what happened were dumbfounded. They watched an officer from the Tang Dynasty rush past them. They didn't even pay attention to them and continued to run forward, as if they were being chased by some monster.

Then they looked towards the other side's direction, and saw another group of fierce-looking Tang Army paratroopers running past them, shouting vague orders, which seemed to be about surrendering their guns but not killing them.

A dwarf soldier dropped his weapon. In his opinion, everything was over: there were explosions in the distance, and the enemy troops had already reached them. If they did not surrender at this time, they would obviously be risking their own lives.

just kidding.

Xiang Ziyu was very lucky. These soldiers were not elites from the 1st Armored Division of the Ice Empire, but dwarf garrison troops who had been fighting fiercely with the Tang army for a day and night nearby.

After seeing the 1st Armored Division's defense line being penetrated, these dwarves, who had long lost their fighting spirit, chose to hand over their weapons. They threw their rifles on the ground and raised their hands high to complete the surrender ceremony.

A young Tang paratrooper running behind had an unhappy look on his face. He pressed his rifle and looked at the dwarfs who raised their hands in surrender, and then looked at his comrades who could only see black shadows in the distance, reluctantly.

's stayed in place.

There was no other way, but one person had to be left to guard the surrendered prisoners, right? Now that he was the only one left, who made him run the slowest? So he could only stand there, facing a dark mass of terrified dwarf soldiers.

Only after dawn the next day did he realize how dangerous he was: in front of him was a battalion of dwarf infantry. They had mortars, trucks, and seven or eight machine guns, more than 300 of them.

The uncollected rifle at my feet...

If a few dwarves regretted it and picked up the weapons at their feet, the Tang paratroopers might be killed by a sneak attack... But the other party did not do this. They just gathered there quietly and let the Tang army take over after dawn.

Take away their weapons.

After dawn the next day, the Tang Army's counterattack finally came to a halt, because the attacking Tang Army tanks... really had no way to continue attacking the dwarves' defense line.
