1715 One-sided street fighting

In Ironforge City, white snow covered the ruins, making many places extremely slippery. In such an environment, the Tang Army's offensive troops, issued with winter camouflage, had an advantage over the dwarf troops still wearing green military uniforms.

They are hidden in corners and can attack obvious dwarf targets at any time. Coupled with the Tang Army's artillery superiority, ammunition quantity superiority, and air force superiority... the price the dwarves have to pay to hold a position is getting higher and higher.

As soon as the weather cleared up, the Tang Army's armed helicopters once again visited the dwarf positions. They fired with cannons, hitting many dwarf soldiers so hard that they couldn't even raise their heads.

Light weapons cannot pose a threat to the thick-skinned armed helicopters, and the dwarves don't have many anti-aircraft guns, so the Tang Army's aircraft are somewhat unscrupulous here.

After some devastation, these planes flew away, leaving only a mess. On the dwarf position, a few bearded dwarves who had long been accustomed to everything began to clean the trenches. At their feet were the bodies of their companions covered in blood.

For them, war is so cruel. All it takes is a little carelessness or a little bit of bad luck, and they can only lose their lives.

After tearing open the simple packaging, a dwarf wolfed down biscuits that were as hard as rocks and stuffed them into his mouth. They only had this kind of supply. It didn't taste good, but it could still fill his stomach.

In such cold weather, they had no way to light a fire to keep warm, because the Tang army often used very accurate artillery shells to attack places where there was smoke.

Many dwarf soldiers were killed by artillery shells because they used fuel for heating, so the dwarf troops fighting on the front line were prohibited from using open flames. Without the conditions for heating, everyone could only eat this kind of cold food.

To be honest, they are not as good as the civilians in the shelter. At least there, the civilians can light a fire to keep warm. There are even special small stoves that can boil hot water while warming themselves.

In order to ensure the water safety of civilians, the Tang Empire even directly provided pure water to these civilians. Those plastic bottles were regarded as treasures by many dwarf civilians, who used them to store many things.

The dwarf soldiers did not receive this kind of treatment. They only had their own military kettles, which were large and heavy but had a pitifully small capacity. Due to problems with the processing technology, they often leaked.

Hiding in a building with one third of it collapsed, a group of dwarf soldiers complained about the weather and paid no attention to their dead comrades in the trench not far away.

If you persist here for two days, you will not seriously contact those comrades who are said to be dead in one day. Their comrades will not care about them, because everyone is the same.

Because they are separated by walls, they can somewhat avoid the cold wind here, and they can also smoke to pass the time.

Although those cigarettes filled with unknown leaves taste extremely bad, they are still very popular as hard currency among soldiers.

"Richie and Myne are dead." A dwarf soldier walked into the sheltered house and found a place to sit down: "Three of them were injured. It's probably difficult to survive in this weather."

Many people didn't even know who Richie was, but the name Mine was a bit familiar. He might be a veteran who had lived for five days. Everyone was silent for a while, and then continued to smoke.

In a place like this, people are already numb. Even if they die, they may not shed a single tear.

"The Tang Army may attack soon. We need to count the ammunition and arrange it in advance." Seeing that everyone was silent, the dwarf platoon leader stood up and said.

Everyone looked at him, waiting for his order. After thinking for a while, the platoon leader made a simple arrangement: "The machine gun team goes upstairs and sets up a machine gun position upstairs. If the Tang Army has tanks coming, you don't have to go immediately."

Fire, save ammunition...just wait until you see their infantry and suppress them."

After finishing speaking, he looked at the anti-tank man on the side: "You only have one rocket, don't waste the opportunity and fire again when you see the tank! Remember what I said! Do you understand?"

The anti-tank fighter nodded. He knew that he was most likely to be in trouble this time, because the previous anti-tank fighters rarely returned to their troops alive to continue participating in the war.

Just like their own anti-tank rocket launchers, they are almost disposable items. Once used, they will be scrapped and disappear.

Just as they were arranging their tasks, the Tang Army's attack had already begun. Mortar shells landed on the dwarves' position one after another, followed closely by smoke bombs that obscured their vision.

The Tang Army has become more and more accustomed to using smoke bombs to cover their attacks. Armed with thermal imaging cameras, they are keen to create a low-visibility environment to enhance their advantage.

The dwarf soldiers were killed one by one by snipers with headshots. The Tang army soldiers passed by the corpses of the dwarf soldiers hanging on the sandbags and advanced very quickly.

The dwarf soldiers, who lacked vision, began to fire randomly to embolden themselves. They panicked and even began to throw grenades forward, hoping to block the Tang army's attack.

This method did create some trouble for the Tang army, but they soon ran out of ammunition and could no longer afford such clumsy tactics.

Originally, the dwarves did not have much ammunition reserves. After a high-intensity battle, they only had one option: bayonet.

The condescending machine gun position only roared for a few seconds before being knocked down by the Tang Army's snipers. The shooters who came after him were killed directly. When they went up again, a rifle grenade flew in the face, and the machine gun was directly hit.

It blew up.

The Tang Army had so many ways to solve the machine gun position, so many that the dwarves could never imagine. The entire position was already crumbling under the attack of the Tang Army's light infantry, so the dwarf anti-tank company hiding in the side corner had no chance of seeing the Tang Army's tanks.

nothing.

He carried the rocket launcher and waited for a minute with his comrades who were covering him, and found that their position was almost behind the Tang army, so they had to move, otherwise they would have to fight with the Tang army who was cleaning the battlefield.

So they ran, running all the way along the communication ditch to their position. As soon as they turned a corner, they ran into the soldiers of the Tang Army who had already occupied this place.

The opponent was startled, and he opened his gun and fired. Before the two dwarves could even shout out the words of surrender, they were beaten into pieces by the bullets coming towards them.

Soon, a third of the collapsed building not far away was occupied by the Tang army. Only a few of the dwarves stationed here ran away.
