1728A new line of defense

Yang Mu I and his staff have been thinking about a problem recently, how to stop the Tang army from going south.

In their view, the fall of Ironforge is already doomed, so how to manage the chips in their hands becomes a problem they must face.

In fact, there is no particularly good way, there are just a few options: first, counterattack; second, stick to it. And because the situation is very passive, more people advocate sticking to it.

After all, the current situation seems to be that attacking is basically just a big fire, which is another option to speed up the historical process.

A decisive battle with the armored troops of the Tang Army on the plains was no different from surrendering to death. As long as the Tang Army deployed its formation, the coalition troops would almost die at the same pace.

Therefore, Yangmu I decided to strengthen the defenses on his border, connect it with the dwarves' border defenses, and transform the dwarves' border defenses to form a huge and deep defense zone.

Relying on this defensive zone, he would gather more than 3 million troops to confront the Tang army on the front line, bringing the war to a stalemate.

Although this would seriously affect the mainland, it was still better than sitting still and waiting for death. Therefore, Yangmu I recently began to mobilize forces to strengthen the "border defense line" that only had about four-fifths left.

As for the areas that had been broken through by the Tang army, as well as Refeng Port, Yang Mu I no longer considered it. He knew that he would most likely not be able to recapture these places, so he could only put them aside.

Of course, he did not give up these places completely. If he could hold on to the existing defense line and withstand the Tang army's attack, then he would consider the action plan of counterattacking Refeng Port.

"We have assembled 300,000 tons of cement in the border area, and the troops are cutting down the surrounding trees and strengthening the existing defense lines." The minister in charge of transportation in this area introduced the progress of his work to Yangmu I, who was looking down at the map.

.

In fact, the Yangmu Empire has been transporting construction materials to the border, and they have been strengthening their border defenses. This is what they have been doing.

It's just because the Tang army is about to surround Ironforge and the progress of these plans to build fortifications has accelerated, so it seems that they have been frantically expanding their border defense positions recently.

All bunkers must be renovated and reinforced, and new bunkers must be built where there were no bunkers before to increase the firepower density of the entire defense line.

Some 50mm anti-tank guns that have proven obsolete have also been reinforced on the positions and become firepower points hidden under camouflage nets.

Although these weapons have been proven unable to penetrate Tang Army tanks, they can still pose a certain degree of threat to infantry and armored vehicles.

"The dwarves are willing to provide 100,000 laborers to help dig some trenches and connect the existing defense lines." The diplomatic department official responsible for liaising with the Ice Empire also talked about the results of his work.

Under the current situation, the dwarves are willing to provide 100,000 laborers to cooperate with the Yangmu Empire in building a defense line. This is already a very remarkable diplomatic achievement.

The Minister of Civil Affairs also added: "We have also recruited 300,000 workers here to complete the construction of the border defense line before the end of winter."

If you want to build it fast enough, you need to mobilize enough people. After all, this is an extremely long defense line that stretches for hundreds of kilometers. If you want to fully reinforce it, it will take many people and a long time.

Pointing to some marked points on the map, the military general said to Yang Mu I: "In the entire defense area, we plan to build 121 large-scale circular fortifications. Each such fortification can station more than 3,000 people.

Fighting alone for more than a week."

These ring-shaped fortifications are solid defensive fortresses. Although there is no such thing as a city wall, they have ultra-wide anti-tank trenches, stone piers similar to dragon tooth anti-tank obstacles, and are equipped with some rotating

Howitzer turret.

These turrets are directly modified from the navy's warship drawings, and many are even directly installed on the turrets taken from the navy's warships.

The Elf Navy has been completely wiped out, and many of the spare parts left behind are no longer useful, so they were directly taken over by the Army and used as waste.

These naval artillery have almost no mobility, so they can only be installed on fixed turrets. At most, rotating turrets are used to increase the flexibility of firepower.

With these artillery pieces, at least until they are destroyed, the Elf artillery will not be passively beaten in the artillery battle with the Tang army.

In addition to these artillery pieces, the army also blew up some bridges over the river and built new fortifications along the river banks, using these terrains to shorten the length of defense that it needed to defend.

With the support of these turrets and solid fortifications, these ring fortifications can fight alone and can last for a long time even if they are surrounded by Tang troops.

Of course, everyone knows that the most powerful method of the Tang Army is air suppression. These fortifications targeted by the air force will soon be destroyed by bombing, but everyone is still willing to believe that with such fortifications, the soldiers can persist for a long time.

Long-term.

Another general pointed to the schematic diagram on the side and continued to explain: "It is planned to build a bunker every 35 meters, and an anti-tank gun will be deployed every 100 meters! This kind of firepower density is definitely denser than all previous defense lines.

."

The picture shows examples of bunkers and positions, with criss-crossed gun lines, which makes them not easy to mess with at first glance. Even if the Tang army had amazing combat power, they would probably lose some soldiers if they ran into such a defensive line.

The general who spoke first went on to add: "In order to prevent the entire defense line from being bombed by the Tang Army, we will build enough anti-aircraft gun positions within the defense line and deploy a sufficient number of anti-aircraft guns."

They also knew that their air force could not be counted on, so they had to rely on their own air defense weapons to deal with the Tang Army's air threat.

At least, they felt that there should be some means of dealing with those damn helicopters of the Tang Army, so that their fortifications could survive longer.

"We will strengthen the air defense firepower as much as possible. As long as the replenishment speed can keep up, we are confident that we can hold on in the border area for more than half a year." Finally, several generals gave a guarantee to Yangmu I.

This guarantee is necessary because the Yangmu Empire's investment in this line of defense has been exaggerated to a frightening level.
