632 shelling Beiyuan City

Just when Mirage Saburo was dreaming about fighting the Tang Army in the streets of Beiyuan City, relying on the infrastructure that the Tang Army could not bear to destroy to defeat the Tang Army, an explosion suddenly came from the distance.

Mirage Saburo and his adjutant were stunned for a moment. Then they came to the window and saw the black smoke rising from the city.

"What's going on?" Mirage Musaburo, who was a little at a loss, asked angrily. He didn't know whether he was asking himself or the adjutant beside him.

But the adjutant beside him didn't know what happened. At this moment, he could only look out the window stupidly, not knowing what to say.

He scratched his head and thought about how to answer the question raised by his general, and finally suppressed a word of comfort: "Maybe, maybe there is something wrong with the management of munitions or flammable and explosive items, maybe there was an explosion accident."

Already."

This was the most reasonable explanation he could think of, and it was less scary. It was more reassuring than when the Tang army started shelling the city.

But before he could mentally applaud his quick wit, another explosion occurred in the distance. This time they were right by the window and could see it clearly.

"It's a shelling!" Everyone was a soldier, and they could identify at a glance that it was a shelling fired by the Tang Army's large-caliber artillery.

"What's going on..." Mirage Saburo asked again. Although he still didn't say much, his adjutant still knew clearly what he meant.

What Mirage Saburo wanted to ask was why the Tang army suddenly started bombarding Beiyuan City. This obviously broke away from Mirage Musaburo's judgment and completely failed his plan.

No matter what Tang Jun thought, the bombardment started like this. A shell fell again and directly hit a building, destroying two-thirds of the two-story building.

The huge vibration caused all the glass on the nearby building to shatter. These glasses were all new and had been replaced less than a year ago.

The tiles on the roof slid down due to the vibration, smashed to the ground and shattered, causing civilians with no war experience on the road to run around and scream in agony.

Because they had never seen such a terrible explosion, they couldn't even basicly lie down. They just stood there and watched stupidly, waiting to see whether those shells would hit their feet.

Even the sound of falling shells, which was obviously very close to them, could not be distinguished. They hurriedly received the lunch boxes and turned into corpses scattered around the crater.

This is the Tang Army's 155mm caliber howitzer shelling. They had just received the order and began to try to open fire on the newly captured position and shell Beiyuan City.

They had fought cautiously before because they did not dare to scare the Mirage army, fearing that the enemy would withdraw without looking back and abandon Beiyuan City.

Now that the navy has moved north, it is impossible for the nearly 300,000 Mirage defenders to withdraw within a few days, so the Tang army's attacks have become unscrupulous.

Another artillery shell fell and hit a barricade. The sandbags were blown into the sky, and some even flew into the windows of the nearby buildings.

After a dozen cannonballs fell, everything fell silent again. Except for a dozen wisps of black smoke coming out of Beiyuan City, which proved that the shelling just now was indeed real, there was no sound anymore.

Civilians in the surrounding buildings began to pour out, standing on the other side of the street, looking at the buildings that were unfortunately hit and pointing.

There are all valuable things among the collapsed ruins, and some poor people have begun to swarm up, looking for food and other useful things among the rubble and bricks.

"Mom!" There were children crying in the crowd, and some of the Qi civilians were at a loss as to what the shelling just meant.

Soon, a group of Mirage soldiers arrived in trucks. They began to disperse the crowd and shouted at people near the ruins to leave quickly.

These mirage people were completely rude to those who disobeyed orders and shot directly. After killing several beggars and poor and crazy civilians, no one was found on the streets anymore.

Then...these soldiers from the Mirage Kingdom who arrived began to do the same work that the civilians of Qi Kingdom did just now: they also began to rummage through the corpses to find valuables.

They took the rings off the dead man's hands, and even used bayonets to pry open the dead man's mouth to see if there were any gold teeth inside.

The surrounding civilians were lying in front of the windows looking at these robbers, and they were angry but dared not speak. They began to hate His Highness the Second Prince who had invited these mirage people.

In fact, except for a few people, few people care about his identity as the former prince of Qi.

His Royal Highness the Second Prince is crazy now, and some of his close friends know how to call him "Your Majesty" in front of him. Behind his back, everyone starts calling his name Jiang Zhi.

Soon, the superficial work was completed, and these mirage troops began knocking on doors from door to door, driving away civilians and starting to clean up the ruins.

Naturally, the Mirage people will not do the actual work of moving bricks, and their short stature is not suitable for such work.

For the convenience of future travel and to find acquaintances, these neighbors finally took action and began to deal with the ruins left by the shelling.

Some carried the rubble and bricks scattered on the streets, while others were responsible for stacking the rubble out of the way.

But no one spoke, because everyone present was worried about whether the place where they lived would become the next ruin like this.

On another street, people were gathered around a huge crater in a daze. Mirage soldiers rushed over and forced these civilians to fill up the big crater in the middle of the road.

"We don't have so many things to fill the holes with, sir." A Qi man explained to the Mirage soldier holding a bayonet: "You have to give us some tools and find some rocks and soil, right?"

This chapter is not finished yet, please click on the next page to continue reading the exciting content! He felt that what he said made sense and his explanation was very clear, but the soldiers of the Mirage Kingdom on the opposite side did not care about this.

The leading Mirage officer gave an order, and several Mirage soldiers stabbed the man to death next to the bomb crater with bayonets.

The Mirage officer kicked the corpse out of the crater, then looked at the surrounding Qi civilians who were retreating in fear, and asked with a sneer: "Whoever wants to be a corpse filling the hole, just stand up! You don't want to die.

, get to work quickly!”

After he finished speaking, he pointed to the corpses lying around who were killed by shells or bombs, and ordered loudly: "Can't these corpses be filled into the pit? What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for?"

Taking out his pistol and waving it around, the officers of Mirage were furious, and the surrounding civilians of Qi could only work in silence with their heads down.

Although they were trembling with fear, they could only grit their teeth and reach out to grab the body lying on the ground. One woman even started to vomit non-stop.

The Mirage officer walked up to the vomiting woman and shot her in the chest. The sound of the gunshot frightened the surrounding Mirage civilians into screaming, but the Mirage officer burst into laughter.

Then, he continued to shout to the crowd: "Hurry up and work! This road must be repaired tonight! Otherwise I will beat you all to death!"

Just as he was shouting hysterically, the surrounding civilians and soldiers heard the buzzing sound, so they all looked towards the sky in the distance.

There, a black spot was approaching rapidly. In people's field of vision, the planes became bigger and bigger.

"Tang, Tang's plane!" A Mirage soldier shouted in fright, his voice filled with trembling fear.

"Run!" Some people among the civilians also shouted, so the civilians of Qi who were afraid of the soldiers of the Mirage just now, did not know where they got the courage to break through the circle where the soldiers of the Mirage were guarding them, and headed towards the street in the distance.

Run away wildly.

In the sky, a huge formation of flying fortresses flying next to each other flew over Beiyuan City. The bombers were soon spotted, and many people began to point their fingers at the sky.

Immediately afterwards, panic spread, and the civilians in Beiyuan City seemed to realize that the city was in danger.

The Maxim heavy machine guns placed on the roofs of some buildings began to shoot wildly at the sky. Unfortunately, their poor shooting height could not threaten the huge B-17 Flying Fortress.

In fact, the probability of being shot down by a Maxim machine gun like the Flying Fortress shot down in the last sea attack is really low.

Under normal circumstances, even if you fire a hundred bullets from a Maxim machine gun, all hits may not cause a Flying Fortress to fall.

It is really a veritable flying fortress! It is so strong that all its enemies despair! In order to shoot down this terrible bomber, the German army even had to equip its fighter jets with a large number of 20 and 30 mm caliber cannons during World War II.

And that time, in order to ensure that it hit the giant ships on the sea, low-altitude bombing was adopted, so weapons like the Maxim machine gun were given a chance.

This time, the Tang Army's bombers were generally at an altitude of 2,000 meters, and the Maxim machine guns were unable to attack any targets at this altitude.

Therefore, machine gun fire is completely in vain and only brings greater panic to the entire city.

Accompanied by the roar of machine guns, these flying fortresses that had flown over the city opened their bomb bays.

Then one bomb after another detached from the pylon, and quickly fell to the ground under the correction of the air flow.

The soldiers of the Mirage Kingdom, who had been showing off their power just now, immediately dispersed, leaving only the officer who raised his head and looked at the sky above his head, which was mostly obscured by airplanes.

Then, raindrops of bombs fell, and an aerial bomb fell right on his face, hitting him squarely on the head, replacing his original head in just an instant.

Immediately afterwards, the explosion tore his body into pieces, and the shock wave swept through everything around him, and then became unstoppable, shattering the glass on all nearby buildings.
