695 Lijiacun

In the drizzle, a group of Tang Army soldiers wearing raincoats were walking on the muddy road. They were carrying ammunition and weapons, following behind a No. 4 assault gun.

Soon, these soldiers arrived at a small village. The civilians in the village had evacuated, leaving only a few men.

These men quickly stood in front of the low assault gun and volunteered to serve as guides for the troops, introducing the nearby topography and claiming that they still had food at home.

However, the soldiers did not go to get the food. After revising the details on the map based on the descriptions of the locals, they asked the men to leave this dangerous area immediately and take away all the food they could.

Then, these soldiers began to set up defense lines around the small village. All of them were very busy, some digging trenches and some laying mines.

In an instant, this peaceful and peaceful village turned into a dangerous battlefield, and it seemed that dangerous killing methods were hidden in every corner.

Loud rumbling noises began to be heard in the distance, and it was not clear whether it was the sound of artillery or the dull thunder.

I don't know when the rain stopped, but there are still thick clouds in the sky, crystal clear water droplets still hang on the leaves, and the puddles under my feet are still extremely turbid.

The low-shaped assault gun was covered with branches and hidden behind a bush. The commander leaned out and looked carefully at the distant wilderness with his binoculars.

This is the main road to attack Xicong, and it is also the line of defense that they must hold fast. The enemy is expected to arrive here in a few hours, and everyone knows that this will be a hard battle.

Soon, a truck appeared on the road extending to the west. When the car came closer, the white Identification Friend or Foe painting under the car's air intake grille became obvious.

This is the blocking force that was withdrawn from the front line. Half of the vehicles were wounded soldiers, and the other half had exhausted all their ammunition and were forced to retreat here to rest.

Soon, the wounded soldiers continued to retreat eastward with the trucks. After the remaining soldiers received the ammunition, they stayed to reinforce the defense line here.

About an hour later, a bullet-riddled No. 4 tank covering three Type 113 armored vehicles also retreated here.

The grenadiers continued to collect their ammunition, and trucks from the logistics troops coming from the east also arrived at the village. They delivered more ammunition, and the village was busy.

"Your blocking troops did a great job, which slowed down the enemy's progress a lot. It is estimated that they will arrive here in the afternoon." The battalion commander stood under the tallest two-story building in the village and handed the withdrawn tank.

The car has a cigarette.

The other party took the cigarette, borrowed a fire, and then exhaled a mouthful of white mist and said: "The battlefield is too muddy, it is difficult for us to maneuver, and it is difficult for them to advance, right?"

The organization of the troops has been disrupted. The troops retreating from the front line were originally mixed. Some were tanks supported by the armored forces, and some were assault guns of the infantry. They were all mixed together and temporarily commanded by some battalion commanders.

There is no way, because there are no fortifications, so the light infantry can hardly stop the attack of the opponent's tank group, and can only dismantle the armored units and use them as field firefighting teams.

What retreated here was a typical "squad" configuration, with one tank and two armored vehicles from the armored force, and the remaining armored car and truck from the grenadier force.

As the battle line pushed into the hinterland of the Tang State, the defensive strength of the Tang Army was gradually increasing. Not only the strength of the troops was enhanced, but the equipment was also enhanced.

Subsequently, slow-moving heavy artillery units began to appear on the battlefield. The closer they got to the railway, the more abundant supplies they got, and the Tang army's artillery fire became more intense.

With the attack, the army of the Dahua Empire was gradually moving away from its supply line. Mud was not only a friend of the Dahua Army, it was also helping the Tang Army block the attacking Dahua Army.

"Thank you for coming. Otherwise, if we just rely on us to hold on here, I'm afraid we won't be able to hold on until tomorrow." The tank commander looked at the direction from the west where the enemy was coming, and said worriedly.

The battalion commander nodded, smiled and comforted the other person: "Aren't we here? The next two Wild Bees will be here soon. Let's go back and let those damn bastards see how powerful we are!"

"I'm not trying to scare you, the enemy is different this time!" the tank commander reminded the commander: "The other side is well prepared and has sufficient artillery fire, otherwise we wouldn't be in such a mess."

Because there is no air force to weaken the artillery, the artillery of the Dahua Empire can finally take advantage of its own artillery fire, allowing the Tang army to experience what fire suppression is.

There was nothing that could be done about it. The Tang army usually had air force support, and its artillery emphasized mobility, so it was naturally at a numerical disadvantage.

Although you can say that the Tang Army's self-propelled artillery is more advanced and more advanced, when comparing absolute numbers, it is obvious that the Tang Army's self-propelled artillery is not advanced enough to offset the numerical advantage.

"Coming!" On the outer position, the commander of the No. 4 assault gun, who had been on alert, put down his binoculars and pressed the intercom to remind his crew members.

On the road in the distance, tanks of the Dahua Army were seen one after another, and there were densely packed soldiers on both sides of the roadbed.

The light rain finally stopped, and the operational capabilities of the Dahua Army were somewhat improved. The commanders began to rush on their way desperately, chasing out the time wasted in the early stage due to the interception by the Tang Army's border defense troops.

They had no choice, and they didn't expect that those border guards who didn't look very powerful, with insufficient troops and limited ammunition, could actually be so good at fighting.

According to the standards of their Dahua Empire, these border defense troops of the Tang Army, placed in the hands of Dahua commanders, are the most precious treasures in the world, the main force among the main forces.

Soon the Tang Army entered covert mode. In the temporarily built covert bunker, the battalion commander also grabbed the walkie-talkie that had just been installed: "Hello? Hello! This is Lijia Village! The enemy has appeared! Yes! Yes! Guaranteed

Hold the position!"

"Understood!" The adjutant smiled and nodded: "Everything has been arranged, let the Chinese people see how powerful we Tang people are!"

In the foxhole, the grenadiers of the Tang Army took out their 56 assault rifles, pointing the black barrel at the approaching enemy in the distance.

However, before they entered their firing range, a loud noise blew away a tank and seven or eight soldiers who were at the forefront of the Dahua troops.

It was an anti-tank booby trap planted by the Tang Army when they retreated. The tragic explosion caused the Dahua troops to stop their advance. They waited there for ten minutes before regaining order and continuing to advance.

This mine also seemed to send a dangerous signal, and the Dahua troops gradually began to spread out, no longer completely advancing along the road.

As a result, the landmines planted on the roadside began to work, and explosions occurred one after another, making the attack of the Dahua troops intermittent and unable to move quickly at all.

Finally, it seemed that the commander from the Dahua Empire lost his patience. A dozen tanks covering about a battalion of troops aggressively accelerated their advance and rushed towards Lijiacun.

Many villages in the Tang Dynasty were named after the first surname in the village. There were not a hundred but eighty villages named Lijia Village. The Lijia Village here is just an inconspicuous one among them.

However, as the population of Tang State increased and the economic situation improved, the size of villages in Tang State has exceeded that of small towns in other countries.

This is not the kind of village with dozens of thatched houses in other countries. There are thousands of houses here, and even many two-story buildings.

There are two small factories on the east side of the village. One processes oranges grown nearby and makes canned oranges. The other is a repair shop that can even simply repair tanks.

Of course, the electricity in the village is transported from distant towns. It does not have a power station itself, and the water plant is under construction and has not yet been completed.

Even so, compared to the border villages across the Dahua Empire, this Lijia Village is really more than twice as prosperous.

"A bunch of fools, they have been fighting all day and they can't even learn how to walk!" Looking at the Dahua Army soldiers swarming up, the Tang Army sniper hiding in the hiding place spat out the straw stick in his mouth.

He picked up his sniper rifle and looked through the scope at the enemies staggering on both sides of the tank, carrying rifles and stepping on the muddy ground. The crosshairs moved back and forth on their heads and chests.

We can't blame these Dahua Empire soldiers for not being able to see the Tang army that was already approaching Chi Chi, because the Tang army's concealment work was really good.

The helmets of the Tang Army were equipped with fabrics and camouflage nets, and many experienced veterans also inserted small branches with leaves on them.

In addition, Tang Jun's raincoats were all camouflage. From a distance, their appearance was cut by camouflage. They were hidden under the colorful colors of nature and had no identifying features at all. So when they were less than a hundred meters away from the village, they still had no identification.

See the hidden Tang Army defense line.

It's just that the Dahua army that launched the attack the day before suffered too many losses, so when everything was quiet, Dahua's soldiers would subconsciously slow down.

This is a kind of reverence for death, and also a kind of respect for the enemy - although they have not learned deeper life-saving tactics, they already have the awareness of life-saving.

"Bang, block, block!" Finally, a front-facing grenadier pulled the trigger, and the continuous gunshots from the assault rifle broke the surrounding tranquility.

There was a sound of artillery in the distance, and the shells whizzed past people's heads and directly hit the steel plate at the front of the turret of the Dahua 1 tank driving at the front.

The huge force tore apart the steel plate, which was not very thick in the first place, and then detonated all the flammable and explosive items inside the tank.

With a roar, the tank exploded, the body burned, the turret flew up, and the surrounding Dahua Empire soldiers fell to the ground.
