Prologue Beiju

 Noon.

The hot sunlight passed through the broken window lattice and shone unobstructed on Zhang Mazi's face. Zhang Mazi squinted his eyes, mumbled a few words incomprehensibly, and subconsciously turned over, pressing the old wooden couch down.

Creaking sound.

Ever since they fled to the border of Liuzhou, the soldiers seemed to have seen a ghost and stopped chasing each other. Zhang Mazi, who had killed several people in a row, breathed a sigh of relief. After running wildly for several days, he was already extremely thirsty.

Now I finally found a resting place on the border of Liuzhou.

This is a very nice farmhouse with only one peasant woman who lost her husband.

The kind woman not only prepared hot water and rice for herself, but also made milky-white tonkotsu soup, which was fragrant and very tempting.

Zhang Mazi's stomach was empty. He had eaten three large bowls in a row last night.

"Ms. Zhang, the meal is ready."

The woman's soft voice reached his ears. Zhang Mazi shook his head and sat up from the wooden couch, causing another squeaking sound.

Rubbing his eyes vigorously, Zhang Mazi turned his head to the side, slightly away from the blazing sunlight, and said: "Come here! I, Lao Zhang, slept until noon, and I am really hungry!"

The peasant woman put a kind face on the side of the door frame, opened the curtain, and said with a smile: "Mr. Zhang, the pork bone soup is ready."

Where Zhang Mazi couldn't see it, under the peasant woman's neck, there was actually a dark insect body several feet thick that was constantly squirming!

There were densely packed hook legs on the insect's body, and it was even covered with ferocious barbs. At the tail of the insect's body, there was a honeycomb-like pouch, which was moving towards the iron on the stove.

A foul, disgusting liquid was squeezed out of the pot!

Zhang Mazi got off the wooden couch, reached out and touched the peasant woman's face, and said with a smile: "You were too tired last night, so Mr. Zhang will make you feel comfortable tonight."

The peasant woman didn't care that Zhang Mazi took advantage of her. With a smile on her face, she pulled Zhang Mazi into the main room and said, "The soup is ready for Mr. Zhang. Drink it while it's hot."

Zhang Mazi looked at the peasant woman's beautiful figure and couldn't help but his eyes brightened. However, the feeling of hunger in his belly was too strong. Zhang Mazi swallowed, pinched the peasant woman's round buttocks, and then directly lifted it.

There was a big steaming bowl on the stove, and I drank it all.

The peasant woman was wearing a pair of rough-made cloth shoes, leaning on the door frame, watching Zhang Mazi feasting, and the smile on her face seemed to have never changed.
