Chapter 6 The Unwilling Dream

"Priest Matthew, Priest Matthew, please wait."

Otto hurriedly chased out of the restaurant and caught up with priest Matthew in the corridor.

Priest Matthew stopped and turned around with a kind smile.

"Master Otto, are you okay?"

"Well, respected priest Matthew, I have something to talk to you about. Is it convenient for you?"

"Oh, of course, Master Otto, please come with me."

The small room, the small single bed, did not have any gorgeous decorations. Apart from a large desk, the only things that left a deep impression on Otto were heavy books and a slightly decadent smell.

.

Priest Matthew shakily lit the two candlesticks on the bedside and desk. The dim candlelight was not enough to illuminate the entire room, forming a sharp contrast with the dining room that was as bright as daylight before.

"I'm really sorry, Master Otto. The conditions here are a bit rough, but I think Master Otto won't mind. Please sit down."

Pastor Matthew pulled up the chair next to the desk, sat down on it, and then pointed to the bed.

Otto squinted his eyes and sat down on the bed. He was a little surprised. The status of priests in this world was not low, but priest Matthew, as the church's second-most status in the Aargau Territory, was second only to the bishop. He did not expect that the room was so simple.

In the Middle Ages, ascetics like Priest Matthew were probably quite rare.

"This room is too small. How can Butler Simon arrange such a small room for you? I will ask someone to change your room later."

"No need." Priest Matthew shook his head and refused. "It's a small room that I asked for on my own initiative. I'm an old man and don't have much, so why would I live in such a big room?

Master Otto, you couldn't wait to go to class and came to see me. It must be related to what happened in the restaurant."

Otto nodded and looked at the priest Matthew, who was over fifty years old. He did not think that the other party would really be indifferent to what just happened. As a representative of the church, he must have his own interests.

"Yes, please ask Pastor Matthew to save my life."

Otto's attitude was very low. Facing such a well-informed veteran, showing weakness and arousing the other party's sympathy was the right choice.

"Do you suspect that Mrs. Karin wants to murder you? Is there any evidence?" There was no emotion on the face of Pastor Matthew, and he still had a kind smile.

"I..." Otto thought for a moment, then sighed and shook his head slowly. "I have no evidence."

Yes, so far, he has only speculated that Mrs. Kellyn may be the mastermind of his murder. The test just now has strengthened his idea.

However, if he wanted any substantive evidence, Otto would definitely not be able to produce it. Those wandering knights imprisoned in the dungeon would most likely not give out any useful information. Otto knew this very well.

"In that case, Master Otto, are you thinking too much? Just like the Countess said, you are feeling unwell and starting to think wildly." Priest Matthew smiled, with care in his eyes.

"No, I'm pretty sure that someone wants to kill me." Otto said with certainty.

"Okay." Priest Matthew stared at Otto's face for a long time before speaking. "If Master Otto insists on believing that someone is plotting to kill you and feels that the castle is not safe, perhaps you can go to the Emma Monastery in Aarau to relax.

Relax."

Emma Abbey, isn't that the monastery where the bishop of the Allgäu region is located? Otto was confused, but didn't say much. The priest Matthew had said so much, making it clear that he didn't want to get involved in his and Mrs. Karin's family affairs, so, what else?

There is no point in struggling.

"Perhaps I'm overthinking it. I'm really sorry that I bothered Reverend Matthew so late. Please go to bed early and I'll leave first."

Otto stood up and bowed slightly to salute. The other person was not only a high-status priest, but also his teacher. If he was not a noble, he must perform the disciple's salute.

"Master Otto is not feeling well. Please pay more attention to rest. May the gods bless you and restore your health." Priest Matthew also stood up and put his right hand on his left chest to salute. Otto noticed that next to his dry palm, the broad

There is a small moon embroidered on her white robe.

Otto returned to his room, and not long after, the beautiful blond maid came in again carrying ginger soup.

"Master, please have some soup."

Otto did not hesitate and directly served the ginger soup. Otto was not worried about whether the ginger soup would be poisoned. There was such a fuss in the restaurant tonight and so many people were there. No matter whether the real culprit was Mrs. Karin or not.

, after knowing that he is on guard, he will probably not take action again.

In a short period of time, at least I am safe.

"By the way, Liz, when you went to make ginger soup, does anyone know what they asked you?" Otto asked casually while drinking the ginger soup.

"No." Liz looked confused and blinked her big beautiful eyes. "Oh, when I asked for candy, Butler Simon asked me why I wanted candy."

Butler Simon? Otto silently made a note in his mind. As expected, this Butler Simon must be Mrs. Kellyn's man.

"This bowl of soup is so sweet, as sweet as Liz's smile." Otto handed over the bowl and joked with a smile.

"Master... I don't have one!" Liz blushed at Otto's sudden provocation, and was so shy that she hurriedly packed her things and left.

Seeing the panicked girl fleeing through the door, Otto showed a heartfelt smile on his face. If no one wanted to harm him, this aristocratic life would be really good.

Turning on the system, he glanced at the fact that the cheap man was still alive and the conspiracy to assassinate him still existed. Otto launched the system and silently added another layer of quilt to the bed.

Two layers of quilts were used to cover the sweating. The cold should be almost gone tomorrow. Thinking of this, Otto lay gently on the bed, wrapped himself tightly in the quilt, and closed his eyes.

"Wife, don't worry, I've already transferred the money. As long as we go abroad, those people can't find us. I'll go over and arrange everything first. You can come to me with your son after a while, and our family won't have to

I won’t have to live such a miserable life of fear anymore.”

In the narrow corridor, a man hugged a woman and whispered softly. While talking, he kept touching the woman's head.

"Isn't it unsafe for you to go out like this? I heard that stealing..." The woman leaned her head on the man's chest and murmured in a low voice.

"Shh!" the man interrupted the woman. "Don't worry, everything has been arranged. I don't want to, but with so many people looking for me, I will definitely not be able to get out through normal channels. Take Xiaojun well, I'm here.

The place will contact you..."

At the ajar door, a small head silently watched this scene.

After the man left, the woman returned home, looked at the child sleeping on the sofa, sighed softly, and covered the child with a blanket.

Every day after that, the woman would stay in front of the phone, waiting for the phone to ring.

A week passed, a month passed, and the woman received countless calls. But every time the woman picked up the phone, the look on her face would change from excitement to disappointment.

I don't know how much time passed, but visitors came one after another in the quiet little home, and the neighbors changed from watching the good things at first to being indifferent.

Finally, after waiting for countless days and nights, the phone ring that the woman was looking forward to never rang again, and the woman also disappeared.

The disappearance of the woman was discovered by the neighbors. After several waves of "guests" did not knock on the door, and the woman was not seen going out to buy groceries for several days, the neighbors called the police.

When the police opened the closed door, they found the little boy who was dying of hunger but still standing by the phone.

After the little boy opened his eyes, he looked beside him, but he did not see the figure he was thinking about all day and night, only his uncle and aunt with smiles. He murmured in a low voice, "Dad...Mom, I miss you so much."

"But he didn't cry. He knew that his parents might never come back...
