1838,hard fight

Next to Zhang Ganger is Li Zhuer. They are a pair of habitual criminals who often dig graves outside the north gate of Yangzhou.

In the Ming Dynasty, this was a serious crime of beheading.

It is a heinous crime to destroy the graves of ancestors, and there is no good harvest to be had if caught. They were finally caught after digging up the grave of Mr. Cheng who had just been buried.

It sounds like they were both unlucky.

When Mrs. Cheng was sending it off, the two of them wore iron hats and watched in the crowd. Watching the people seeing off carrying various boxes, they imagined how many valuable things there were.

The two of them figured that when the old man died, it would be time for them to make a fortune.

But I didn't expect that there was a slave from my hometown when I got married. I knew that those with iron hats were tomb robbers. I saw them and reported it to the government immediately. (For a similar plot, see the story of Hu Xueyan's account of his funeral.)

Then, he was targeted by the Yamen and the people who married him.

One of them dug a hole in the middle of the night, and the other went out to spread the soil, but they were caught doing it.

These two unlucky children were originally sentenced to be executed and imprisoned. Fortunately, they caught up with this wave of military service, otherwise they would have been executed after the fall.

Now they have become soldiers under the same corps commander, fighting side by side.

These two guys still have a lot of strength and agility. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to do the drilling work well.

"Azhu, we are about to meet the enemy. I'm so scared." Zhang Gang'er said tremblingly.

"Shut up, don't make any noise." Wu Commander Qu Jingjiang roared loudly.

The corps commander is not a good person either, he is a private salt dealer.

He was previously sent to the migrant labor force by the Wang family in Zhenjiang, intending to cause trouble for Ding Yuanbo's Western Expedition. Later, he was recruited by Yan Yingyuan and fought several fierce battles. There were more than 40,000 people and more than 10,000 were left. Fortunately, he survived.

Subsequently, the real felons identified by the Alxa prisoners were all reorganized into the Us Tibetan Army.

Qu Jingjiang survived a narrow escape. At the same time, most of the private salt dealers in Zhenjiang in the northwest of the district died in battle. He became a corps commander.

Li Zhuer trembled and said: "Boss, you have fought in the war. Do you think we can win?"

These two boys are usually very good at getting into trouble. Qu Jingjiang is about to appoint the team leader and plans to train them well.

"What are you afraid of? The more afraid you are, the more dangerous it will be. You must be bold when things happen. On this battlefield, if you don't kill him, he will kill you. How can you make sense? After a while, you will follow me and stab the spear forward with all your strength. Click.

The Erkha people have the worst fighting ability among the Mongols, don't be afraid of them, they don't have armor and they can't assassinate us." Qu Jingjiang shouted loudly.

In the blink of an eye, the infantry from both sides had rushed to a distance of only fifty meters.

The projectiles stopped, only bows and crossbows were firing straight.

The Mongols used round shields covered with cowhide and wooden shields with temporary nails. The Us Tibetan army here used wooden shields covered with one millimeter steel plates.

For a moment, arrows shot at each other like locusts. Doo doo doo! At this distance, the shots from both sides were very accurate. The shields could not completely protect the whole body. A large number of people on both sides were hit by arrows.

The steel crossbow here has a very large energy storage, and it directly shot through many cowhide shields.

The people behind were shooting bloody arrows, which even penetrated one person and hit a second person.

The infantry arrays of this era were all in dense formation.

And the Khalkha people's arrows are also very accurate.

They shot in from places not covered by the shield.

The Us Tibetan troops screamed in agony. Most of them were hit by arrows in the head, neck, arms and calves.

The shield bearers in the front row fell to the ground, exposing the people behind them, and then they were baptized again by bows and arrows. Under the dense rain of arrows, another group of people fell to the ground.

Li Zhuer suddenly found that the front was empty, and the shield soldiers and spearmen had fallen. He became the first line facing the enemy. He was so panicked that he didn't know what to do.

Qu Jingjiang kicked him from the third row to the first row.

"Is the steel crossbow in your hand a fire stick? Shoot the damn thing."

Li Zhuer woke up with a start and immediately pulled the trigger forward.

It doesn’t matter which person you aim at. In fact, I mentioned during training that at this time, shoot with all your might and don’t aim. There are people everywhere, so densely packed that you can’t hit the first one, the second row, and the third row.

.

The steel crossbow was launched, and the huge impact caused the butt-type crossbow's tail to hit the shoulder hard, causing pain. However, the crossbow arrow flew out at a speed of more than fifty meters per second.

The speed of ordinary bows and arrows is less than 40 meters per second, and the speed of crossbows is only about 45 meters per second. Because the steel crossbow made by Yang Fan uses spring steel as the crossbow arm, the force is very large, and the muzzle velocity reaches

Fifty-three meters per second.

The disadvantage is that the recoil is very strong, and my shoulders are swollen after being fired many times.

The triangular-shaped steel arrow flashing with cold light shot toward the Khalkha people with a whooshing sound.

This is to scare the enemy and increase their fear, holes are drilled in the arrows.

The crossbow arrows made a shrill roar as they flew at high speed.

As Li Zhuer watched, the crossbow arrow directly knocked over the leader of the Khalkha brand who was holding a cavalry buckler on the opposite side. The guy almost flew backwards, knocking down two people.

There was chaos on the opposite side. Several people fell to the ground and tried to get up indiscriminately, but were trampled again.

But then seven or eight bows and arrows came from the opposite side, and Li Zhuer screamed and was hit by an arrow in his left shoulder.

This arrow was made of bone, but it was very sharp. It went in half an inch deep through the seam of his armor. Li Zhuer was so painful that he immediately lost strength in his arm. The crossbow he was holding fell to the ground. He also fell to the ground.

land.

Qu Jingjiang cursed angrily: "What a waste."

As he spoke, he pulled him by the collar and threw him behind him. He closed the gap himself.

He picked up his crossbow, cocked it without fear, loaded the arrow, and fired.

The people behind immediately dragged the people who were shot back. There were medical soldiers behind to treat their wounds.

Because these Khalkha people are more insidious, they stick bone arrowheads in horse dung and soak them. After a few months, they pull them out and use them to shoot enemies with a stinky smell.

This kind of arrow is very dirty and can easily become infected once shot.

After Qu Jingjiang shot down several enemies, several people fell down around him again.

There was another commotion in the team and almost collapsed again.

The supervisors and officers immediately drew their swords and hacked to death several people who tried to turn around and escape before stabilizing the line.

The two armies finally rushed together. Soldiers from both sides held up spears and shields and collided with each other. For a moment, people on both sides were knocked over by the person who hit them. They fell down.

Zhang Gang'er put the crossbow on his back, then took off the spear, and in Qujingjiang, he formed a group of three with Pao Ze, another man who could still fight, and stabbed the opponent with all their strength.

The opponent's wooden shield is made of hardwood and is very strong, and it cannot be penetrated even if it is stabbed for a while.

"Put the spear upright and shoot it down." Qu Jingjiang shouted loudly.

The biggest difference between a spear and a spear is that the spear head is very small and can only be used for stabbing. The spear head is very long, more than a foot long, flat and can be used for cutting.

For a moment, the two sides were crowded together, with shields in front of them, unable to stab each other directly. They were all waving spears and lances, raising their hands above their heads and slapping down sideways.

At this time, the Khalkha people were at a disadvantage. They had no armor and only wore cowhide helmets. They didn't even have shoulder pads, just a set of leather armor. Many herders even wore leather robes as conscripts.

For a while, both sides screamed in agony.

Both sides tried to jump up and thrust their spears and spearheads down. This way they could cross the first line of shield array.
