Chapter 37: Qinglin Snake

Ji Jue took back the hand covering Yu Shu's eyes.

The piercing cry disappeared. Yu Shu opened her eyes and saw at a glance the dense dark green vines climbing on the cave wall.

Ji Jue's deep pupils shone faintly, "Are you feeling better?"

Yu Shu turned her head and looked at Ji Jue, her black eyes still misty. She was about to reply when she opened her mouth and said, "Hiccup——"

She was so frightened that she hiccupped?!

037, who was standing on Yu Shu's shoulder, covered his eyes with his paws and could hardly see.

Yu Shu looked shocked and covered her mouth with both hands.

Facing Ji Jue's smiling eyes, Yu Shu suddenly became a little embarrassed.

"This, this is not, hiccup, nothing funny!" Yu Shu's cheeks were lightly red, pretending to be calm and trying to make up for herself.

Ji Jue's eyes fell lightly on Yu Shu's face, and then quickly moved away.

With a smile on his lips, he echoed, "Well, it's not funny."

Hearing what he said, Yu Shu's face turned red even more intensely, her chest heaved up and down, and she hiccupped.

She pursed her lips, snorted angrily, turned around and walked forward.

Ji Jue followed slowly with a smile on his face.

After passing through these vines, the field of vision immediately broadened, and the air was filled with a light mist and a vague fishy smell.

Yu Shu looked at the ground in front of her, which was filled with water. She knelt down to look at it and poked it with her hand.

"It's a swamp." Yu Shu frowned and said.

Ji Jue raised his head and looked around, and suddenly pulled up Yu Shu who was squatting on the ground.

A trace of confusion flashed across Yu Shu's brows, but the moment she was pulled up, an invisible object covered in mud flew out.

That thing had fangs and two wings on its back. If Ji Jue hadn't pulled her up, she would have been bitten by now.

The thing fell back into the swamp without biting Yu Shu. After a few breaths, the swamp returned to its calm state.

Yu Shu's eyes were filled with surprise, "What kind of monster is this?"

"Mud-winged fish, these fish have not yet developed their intelligence." Ji Jue's eyes were heavy as he looked into the distance, "The Qinglin Snake should be nearby."

With that said, Ji Jue threw the Cangxuan Sword in his hand into the air, and the Cangxuan Sword instantly became bigger.

Ji Jue held Yu Shu's waist with one hand and leapt to sit on the Cangxuan Sword.

They flew over the swamp, and wherever they passed, countless mudfin fish flew out, and then fell like raindrops.

After crossing the swamp, as soon as Yu Shu jumped down from the Cangxuan Sword, she suddenly had a bad premonition.

Her pupils suddenly sank, and she drew out the Qingming Sword, alert.

The next moment, Ji Jue firmly held Yu Shu's waist and jumped back.

A tail slammed into the place where they were standing. The tail was shaped like a snake's tail, but it was covered with layers of scales glowing green.

Yu Shu watched as the tail slowly retracted, leaving a trail of mucus behind.

"Qinglin Snake." Ji Jue's eyes instantly turned cold.

"Hiss-hiss-"

The sound came from above her head. Yu Shu looked up and ran straight into a pair of yellow snake eyes.

What shocked Yu Shu even more was that the green lin snake was clinging to the vines at the top of the cave, and its body occupied more than half of the space.

Qinglin snake, as the name suggests, looks like a snake, but has four legs of a lizard. It is sticking out its tongue and dripping saliva.

Ji Jue pulled Yu Shu away and said in a deep voice, "Its body fluids are poisonous and can corrode the flesh, and will also spread to the Dantian along the meridians."

"You go get the cold wood grass first, and I'll take care of it here." Ji Jue frowned tightly and patted Yu Shu's shoulder.

Yu Shu was stunned for a moment, but quickly came to her senses. She knew that staying here would only make Ji Jue intimidated.

She nodded slightly and responded, "I'll go back quickly."

With that said, Yu Shu ran towards the back.

When the Qinglin snake saw Yu Shu running inside, its yellow snake eyes suddenly widened and it ran towards Yu Shu very quickly.

Ji Jue held the Cangxuan Sword in his hand, his spiritual energy condensed outside his body, his eyes stern, and he stepped sideways slightly, blocking Yu Shu's back.

He flipped his wrist and swung his sword away suddenly. The Qinglin Snake paused for a moment, but soon it changed direction and attacked Ji Jue.

The slender tongue suddenly spit out at Ji Jue, like a sharp arrow.

Ji Jue tapped his toes, jumped up, dodged the Qinglin snake's tongue, and swung his sword.

The sword energy cut the green lin snake's tongue, its blood dripped to the ground, and wisps of green smoke came out.

Ji Jue's eyes turned and fell on Teng Man beside him. He followed Teng Man and jumped towards the top of the cave.

The Qinglin snake seemed to be aware of it, crawling on all fours and twisting its body into a knot.

But Ji Jue's figure was like lightning, leaping like flying, constantly changing positions, like a fleeting shadow.

After a few hits, the Qinglin Snake gradually couldn't keep up with Ji Jue's speed and lost sight of him. Its yellow snake eyes were narrowed and its tongue was spitting out "hiss-hiss-".

It was as if he was looking for Ji Jue's location.

Ji Jue appeared behind Qinglin Snake silently like a ghost. He was about to raise his sword to kill, but suddenly he caught a glimpse of something.

He looked sideways and saw the corpses of monster beasts tied up by vines, hidden among the overlapping vines. There was not just one, but the corpses of many monster beasts.

Ji Jue frowned, but at this moment, the Qinglin Snake suddenly turned around, and he looked away from the corpses of the monsters.

His eyes darkened, and he quickly picked up a sword flower and slashed at the Qinglin Snake. The attack was fast and cruel, and the sword wind was fierce.

The Qinglin Snake's movements froze, and a line of blood suddenly appeared on its neck. Immediately, blood spurted out, and the Qinglin Snake's head fell down with a 'swish' sound and hit the ground.

The Qinglin snake kept twisting and turning as if it hadn't reacted yet, but after a moment it fell off the vine and hit the ground with a 'bang'.

Ji Jue jumped down from the vine and came gracefully. When his feet landed on the ground, he made no sound at all.

He slowly walked towards the direction where Yu Shu left.

But the head of the Qinglin Snake, lying on the ground, suddenly moved.

It suddenly flew up, opened its mouth wide, and bit sharply towards Ji Jue's back.

The next second, Ji Jue was blown away by the spiritual barrier that suddenly appeared on his body.

The snake's head made an arc in the air and fell straight into the swamp. The mud-winged fish rushed to bite it.

But soon, they were completely corroded by the blood of the Qinglin Snake, and the swamp was bubbling.

Ji Jue turned his head and glanced slightly, and said coldly, "You are not overestimating your own capabilities."

He took a few steps forward, but then he remembered something and stopped where he was.

Ji Jue turned around and looked at the group of Teng Man hiding the corpses of the monster beasts, his brows furrowed and his eyes flashing with confusion.

He did not remember that monsters like Qinglin Snakes had the habit of hoarding food. On the contrary, they were extremely picky and only liked to eat fresh monsters. They would not eat anything that was slightly stale.

Therefore, soul-breaking snakes often appear in places where Qinglin snakes and lizards are found.

Ji Jue lowered his eyes, with a bit of confusion on his face. Qinglin Snake never hoards food unless...

Damn it, Yu Shu!

Ji Jue thought of something, his eyes suddenly opened wide, and he directly raised his spiritual power and flew towards Yu Shu's position.
