Chapter 14 The Fall of Chang'an

It was already June in the blink of an eye, and in a valley in Mang Mountain, the shadows of the trees were swaying, and the waves of pine trees were bursting. A stream divided the valley into two halves, and more than ten huts were scattered along the stream, looming among the trees.

Lu Qiuniang was dressed in linen clothes and had a high bun. She had just returned from picking mulberry trees. The green mulberry leaves filled the basket on her back. She wiped the sweat from her forehead with her sleeves, pushed the door open and entered the thatched cottage. The sky was clear.

Lang, Yang Sanlang did not go hunting in the mountains today. He was sitting alone in front of a wooden table playing with stone spears, animal traps and other things... and a small crossbow, which he and Carpenter Zhang made recently.

When he came out, there was a half-finished loom placed in the corner of the hut, which was expected to be completed by the end of summer. Thinking of this, Lu Qiuniang felt a sweet feeling in her heart.

Lu Qiuniang took off the basket on her back, scooped some water from the water tank and drank it. Seeing that Yang Sanlang remained silent, she asked curiously: "Brother Sanlang! Don't you feel happy? But you were scolded by Brother Da Shi again during the morning practice?"

Yang Sanlang turned around with a complicated expression: "Sister Qiuniang... I want to tell you something. Don't be anxious..." Hearing what he said, Lu Qiuniang felt an ominous feeling in her heart. Yang Sanlang

After hesitating again, he added, "A few days ago, bandits broke into Chang'an City. The saint, Yang Niangniang, the prince and other people in the palace fled to Shu. I'm afraid I won't be able to leave Chang'an."

Lu Qiuniang felt a buzz in her head, and she was about to collapse. Yang Sanlang held her back: "Sister Qiuniang! Don't be anxious! Go back inside and take a rest before talking to you." Lu Qiuniang was confused by Yang.

Sanlang lay down on the kang, feeling like the world was spinning, a bit like a summer fever syndrome, and he was so upset that he couldn't vent it out. He simply closed his eyes, the gray and red colors were shaking uneasily, and he gradually fell asleep. Yang Sanlang had already fallen asleep.

He pulled a stool in from the outside and sat on the edge of the kang, staring at Lu Qiuniang, with concern and nervousness on his face.

Seeing Qiuniang sleeping, Yang Sanlang found the linen cloth he usually used for scrubbing, wet it in a wooden basin, wrung it out, and slowly helped Qiuniang wipe away the sweat stains on her head, face, and neck. After about half an hour,

Lu Qiuniang suddenly called out "Mei Fei" and woke up slowly. Two lines of clear tears flowed down her pink cheeks and soaked the pillow. Yang Sanlang couldn't say a word, so he had to keep holding Lu Qiuniang's hand.

Don't dare to let go.

At night, Qiuniang was still lying on the kang like that, staring at the thatched roof, crying. Yang Sanlang cooked some corn porridge and brought it to her, and fed her some, and then she felt at ease. He also gave the animal skin to her.

She covered it up a little, then took the stone spear and went over to practice.

The summer night in the mountains was quite cool, and apart from some annoying mosquitoes, it didn't feel uncomfortable. Yang Sanlang and other training regiments listened to Guan Dashi's orders, thrust out the stone spears one by one, and hit the wooden stakes in front.

On the top of the mountain, the moss attached to the side of the wooden pile was shaken so that it fell down one after another. After more than half a year of training, this temporarily assembled regiment in Yangliu Villa has become more and more famous. In the most recent operation down the mountain, they even killed several people.

A lone bandit.

At the end of the drill, with the bright moon hanging high in the sky, all the soldiers in the regiment were covered in stinky sweat, and they all agreed to take a bath in a small pool downstream of the stream. Yang Sanlang was thinking of Lu Qiuniang, so he complained to his brothers and hurried to his hut.

Run away.

"You really are a hungry ghost in lust!"

"Young couple, what night is there not just firewood but a fire?"

Everyone made random guesses and joked around, but didn't take it seriously and walked downstream together. Suddenly, they heard Yang Sanlang's urgent shout: "Sister Qiuniang is missing!"

But it was Yang Sanlang who had just entered the hut and saw nothing but darkness. He called out "Sister Qiuniang" several times, but no one answered. When he got inside, he took a look: the animal skins were stacked in a square shape, and they were usually piled on the bed.

The gray cloth bundle on his head was missing. Yang Sanlang thought, "Not good!" He rushed out of the hut and ran towards the training regiments, shouting: "Miss Qiuniang is missing! Follow me to find her!"

Seeing that he looked anxious and pale, all the regiment brothers knew that something was urgent, so they all followed Yang Sanlang down the mountain without having time to ask.

Guan Dashi shouted while running: "Sister Qiuniang has not gone out these days. If she wants to leave, she will probably go down the mountain. The six of us will follow Brother Sanlang down the mountain to look for it. However, there is also a road upstream, leading to

Go somewhere else, brother Niuchong, take the remaining few people and look there as well, and be sure to persuade them to come back!"

Guan Dashi and others followed Yang Sanlang and ran all the way down the mountain. Yang Sanlang fell several times while running wildly, and had cuts on his head and face. He didn't bother to care about it, got up and continued running. He ran for more than a month.

After a while, I saw a small figure walking among the trees not far away under the moonlight.

Yang Sanlang rushed up and hugged her, but she struggled for a few times, broke away, and cried: "Brother Sanlang! You go back... I want to go to Shu County to see the saint! If I can come back, I will meet him again."

You are a couple..." Yang Sanlang was stunned on the spot, holding many words in his chest for a while but unable to say them out.

Guan Dashi stopped the training soldiers of the regiment aside, stepped forward and said: "Sister Qiuniang, you are so confused! Chang'an has fallen into the hands of thieves, and the thieves will be burned and killed wherever they go. As a woman, if you leave this mountain, you will die! You

Naturally, what needs to be done cannot be accomplished. Under the Nine Netherworld, is it possible to return to Concubine Mei?" When Lu Qiuniang heard what he said, she seemed stunned, but she refused to speak with a cold face.

Seeing that she could listen, Guan Dashi said again: "You know how my brother Sanlang treats you. If you keep the green hills, you won't have to worry about running out of firewood. At the moment, the only way is to save your life and stop trying to do anything for him."

If you can endure a little longer in the mountains and wait for the world to be settled, you can go wherever you want. My brother will not stop you!" Yang Sanlang's face was full of sorrow and he wanted to go forward to hug him, but Lu Qiuniang dodged him.

He hugged his legs and refused to let go.

Guan Dashi couldn't bear it. After thinking for a moment, he turned around and ordered the training brothers of the regiment: "Tie her up! Carry her back!" The training brothers of the regiment did not hesitate and came forward to surround her. They said in unison: "I have offended my sister-in-law."

!" Then they separated the two people, tied Lu Qiuniang firmly with ropes, and carried her all the way back to Yangliu Villa. Lu Qiuniang cursed her with "bandits", "frivolous children" and "dogs" all the way, and all the training regiments were silent.

Ignore it.

When they returned to the villa and handed over their son, the brothers from the regiment took Lu Qiuniang back to the hut, put her on the kang, and left on her own. Yang Sanlang bolted the door and hurriedly went up to loosen the ties. As soon as he freed the rope, he accidentally got kicked by Lu Qiuniang.

He kicked under the kang and cursed: "Get out of here!" Yang Sanlang got up numbly, then went back to the outside, put together four stools, and lay down with his clothes on. His mind went blank and confused for a while.

From meeting Qiuniang to getting married... all kinds of images were intertwined and flashed before my eyes. I felt sad in my heart, completely drowning myself.

Lu Qiuniang lay crookedly on the kang, pressed the pillow to the side, cried for a while, and sobbed for a while... While half asleep and half awake, she heard the chicken crow in the village a few times, and she felt that she seemed to be much more awake. She couldn't help but think

After reading some things, he felt like a mess, and his head couldn't bear it. He fell asleep again and didn't wake up until dawn. When he listened carefully, Yang Sanlang didn't go to practice, and was "ding ding ding ding ding" beside the stove.

Cooking on the ground, the smell of firewood burning filled the air, it was choking but familiar.

Lu Qiuniang was still angry, so she simply couldn't get up and lay on the kang in a daze. After a while, Yang Sanlang came in with a bowl of meat porridge and said timidly: "Sister Qiuniang...eat while it's hot!" She turned her back.

Go and don't want to pay attention. Yang Sanlang stood for a while holding the bowl and chopsticks. When Qiuniang didn't move, he put the bowl and chopsticks on the edge of the kang and silently returned to the outside room. He sat alone in front of the wooden table and touched it for a while.

Shi Mao sat blankly for a while, not knowing what he was thinking.

The two of them were frozen like this for more than an hour, and Qiuniang's cold voice came from inside: "I won't run away again, so don't worry." Yang Sanlang was startled when he heard this, and he felt so many things in his heart that it is difficult to describe.

After sitting there for a while, she picked up the stone spear and went to the school ground in the valley. Lu Qiuniang just lay there like this, unwilling to wash up or eat porridge. Yang Sanlang came back once and saw that the porridge was still intact, so he poured it out.

He put it back in the pot and heated it up, then put it in again... He still slept in the inner and outer rooms at night.

On the seventh day, Lu Qiuniang was finally willing to eat some porridge and rice, but she still refused to get up, go out, and talk to Yang Sanlang. Yang Sanlang practiced in the school field every day, made meals, hunted and picked mulberries,

Feeding silkworms, collecting cocoons, cleaning silkworm silt, sleeping outside... Occasionally I couldn't help but say a few words to Qiuniang, but I never got a response, so I had to sigh and walk away angrily.
