Chapter 559: Dancing pulmonary artery?

It was not difficult to find someone to help convince Uncle Karen. Early the next morning, Elder Erwin and the Bald Bishop arrived together. Captain Karen specially asked for leave, sat in the hospital consulting room, and listened to Grete's explanation with them.

:

"Baby Avril's disease, according to my judgment, is because the conduit between the aorta and pulmonary artery is not closed. This conduit is a normal blood flow channel during the fetal period. After birth, it will close under normal circumstances..."

He used [Silent Phantom] to outline the heart, two lungs, systemic circulation, and pulmonary circulation, and explained it eloquently. He had just started practicing this first-level magic when he left, and it was very awkward to use; but now, it was easy to use without any effort.

The heart shows a cross-section, with the left atrium, left ventricle, right atrium, and right ventricle connected to different blood vessels. With every beat of the heart, the illusory blood keeps flowing and circulating, and the arteries also contract and relax.

The expansion of the valves and the changes in color of the venous and arterial blood are clearly visible.

In order to facilitate understanding and memory, Gretel even labeled each blood vessel with a phantom name.

He paused and looked around at the audience in front of him. To the left, the bald bishop's eyes were shining, and his body was leaning forward slightly. His eyes were fixed on the phantom. Looking at it like that, he almost wanted to swallow it in one gulp.

On the right, Elder Erwin's white beard was waving, and he smiled slightly as he looked at his disciple who had been away for four years. On his old face, every wrinkle was written with great comfort;

Uncle Karen and Aunt Eileen sat side by side, holding their little daughter in the middle, staring nervously and anxiously at the image in the air. They didn't even have time to express the slightest surprise at the magic.

Grete waited for a while, waiting for the expressions of "understanding" and "already understood" to appear on the faces of the teacher and the bald bishop. He waved his hand slightly, added a catheter between the aorta and pulmonary artery, and changed the blood flow.

The direction of flow, continue:

"If this catheter is not closed, part of the blood ejected from the left ventricle and flowing into the aorta will directly flow into the pulmonary artery, causing an increase in pulmonary circulation blood flow and an increase in pulmonary artery pressure."

Erwin and the bald bishop both expressed their understanding. The faces of Uncle Karen and Aunt Eileen were still blank, as if they had heard every word and could not understand them all together. Grete sighed secretly and commanded the phantom's

Change, accentuate the tone:

"If things go on like this, when the pressure in the pulmonary artery is equal to or even exceeds the aorta, it will be very difficult for the right ventricle to eject blood into the lungs, and it will take all your strength to do it. Over time, it will cause right heart failure. Even... the patient will die.

.”

Aunt Eileen let out a small exclamation and hugged her daughter tightly. Captain Cullen's face was heavy, and Elder Erwin coughed and said slowly:

"Now that you're back, you must have an idea?"

"Yes." The phantom in Grete's hand changed again, and he explained the treatment method in detail. Finally, he took out the experimental record from the space bag and distributed it to the two elders:

"I have conducted hundreds of animal experiments in Nevis. In the last few batches, the treatments have been quite successful, and 100% of the experimental animals survived."

Elder Erwin and the bald bishop stood on each side, lowering their heads to read. From time to time, they looked up at the light and shadow in front of them and compared it with the descriptions in the experiment records.

The format and wording of these experimental records were all unfamiliar. They were not completely incomprehensible, but they still required all their efforts. For a time, the two high-level therapists were completely focused and had no time to deal with the patients and their families.

Captain Karen hugged her daughter tightly and remained silent. Aunt Eileen's eyes were filled with tears, and she stroked her daughter's hair and face from time to time, as if she was about to lose her in the next moment.

Avril leaned against her parents obediently. The ten-year-old girl could already understand topics such as life and death. She pressed her small palm on the back of her mother's hand, raised her head, and spoke in a clear voice:

"Dad, Mom, let Brother Gretel cure me. Brother Gretel must have come back from such a long way to cure me, not to harm me, right?"

The clinic was quiet for a moment. Captain Cullen tightened his arms and hugged his daughter, almost speechless. The bald bishop raised his head from the experimental record, stared into Gretel's eyes, and said in a deep voice:

"Are you sure? Are you sure it's the disease you mentioned?"

"I'm sixty-seven percent sure." Grete responded: "To be specific, detailed examination is still needed to make a clear diagnosis."

"Then check it! Check it for us!"

Gretel was already prepared. The electrocardiogram had already been done, so there was no need to do it again. He took out the [Endless Ink Pen], held it with the hand of the mage, and walked around behind Avril. Under the illusory light of [Detection Magic], he squinted slightly.

Open your eyes and observe carefully:

"Well, it's obvious hilar chorea..."

"where?"

One on the left and one on the right, two heads came over at the same time. Gretel took a deep breath, pointed to little Avril's chest, and explained to Elder Erwin and the bald bishop:

"This is the pulmonary artery. Did you see that every time the heart beats, the pulmonary artery will tremble violently, so much that it looks like it is swinging? We call it hilar chorea. Normal people will not have such symptoms, Uncle Karen, you too

Stand over and show the teacher and the bishop..."

Elder Erwin inserted his oak staff back, and [Detection Magic] was turned on again. Two real-time X-ray shadows were displayed side by side, and [Silent Phantom] continued to flow. Grete gave instructions and explained:

"When the heart beats, the blood is ejected from the left atrium into the aorta, and the intensity is really strong. A large amount of blood is ejected, and if part of it runs to the pulmonary artery, the pulmonary artery will bear undue pressure and it will vibrate violently. It seems,

That’s what it’s like…”

This truth is not difficult to understand. The two elders compared it back and forth and finally nodded:

"Well, it seems you were right."

Gretel did not dare to relax. He repeatedly confirmed that the heart shadow was enlarged, the aortic node was protruding, the left ventricle was enlarged, and the pulmonary blood was increased, and then he stopped the [Detection Magic]. After finishing the X-ray, he needed to do an echocardiogram...

This time, Grete didn't let the teacher or the bald bishop get involved. He rolled up his sleeves, performed ultrasound with one hand, and pressed the gold box with the other. After reaching level six, one cast finally didn't drain most of his mental energy. Thank God.

Half a minute later, the gold box spit out the chip, and Grete triggered the image again and began to explain where the patent duct was and where the blood flow signal was abnormal. Unfortunately, echocardiography was much more difficult to understand than plain X-rays, and he was covered in sweat while explaining.

, and only got some looks of understanding.

"Well... the last thing we need to do is to let the spirit of the contract go deep into the body and see it in real time..."

The illusive little black and white snake rose up from the oak staff. Elder Erwin glanced at it and immediately smiled with relief:

"The Totem Spirit of the North! This is a good thing. When I went there in the early years, I couldn't get one... Not bad, not bad, better than me!"
