Chapter 9 Can You Give Me Your Eyes?

That face turned out to be my father's face.

Before I could react, two big hands put on Zhao Youlong's shoulders and dragged him away to the field aside.

It was my father who dragged Zhao Youlong.

I stood up quickly and saw that my father was still holding a hemp rope in his hand.

Zhao Youlong's eyes widened, his legs kicked wildly, his face was full of fear, and he yelled: "Who? Let me go, let me go!"

Obviously, although he couldn't see my father's presence, he should be able to feel it.

The father said: "Jianfei, you go to school and you don't have to worry about this matter."

Immediately afterwards, Zhao Youlong was dragged into the cornfield by my father.

Soon, Zhao Youlong's screams came from the cornfield.

I didn't dare to stop and look further, so I turned around and ran towards the school.

When I got to school, I didn't dare to tell anyone about it. When I got home from school in the evening, I didn't tell my master either.

While eating, Master noticed that I was worried, so he asked me in a low voice: "Jianfei, what happened to you today? Were you bullied at school?"

I shook my head slightly and continued eating.

Master tapped my bowl with chopsticks: "I want to ask you, what happened?"

I had no choice but to lie: "I don't know how to memorize the text the teacher asked me to memorize."

The master suddenly became happy and said: "Oh, it turns out I'm afraid of your teacher. Then you go to bed later tonight and go to bed when you recite it."

I hummed and said no more.

The master smiled and said: "The secret technique of Feng Shui is so obscure and difficult to understand. You can memorize it by heart. How can a mere text stump you?"

Just as he was talking, a shout came from outside the yard: "Third Master, Third Master!"

The master said angrily: "Zhou Xiaojun, if you have anything to do, just come in and say it. Don't yell at the door."

Zhou Xiaojun lives next door to my master's house. Like me, he is an orphan.

It's just that he usually makes a living by picking up rags. As far as I know, my master often gives him some food.

Soon, Zhou Xiaojun came to the main room.

He is eight years older than me and will be an adult next year.

Although he is not very old, he looks like a little old man.

My master said indifferently: "What's going on?"

Zhou Xiaojun whispered: "Zhao Youlong, the village chief's brother, hanged himself in the old locust tree at the entrance of the village."

As soon as I said this, my hands suddenly shook and my chopsticks fell directly to the ground.

Master glanced at me and then asked Zhou Xiaojun: "Why did Zhao Youlong hang himself so well?"

"I don't know, the village chief fainted directly, and now the entrance to the village is full of people. I saw Zhao Youlong's body. His eyes were closed, his head was raised, and his tongue was sticking out. It looked very scary." Zhou Xiaojun described.

I picked up the chopsticks and wiped them, feeling very panicked.

My father really killed Zhao Youlong, which I never expected.

Originally I thought my father would only punish Zhao Youlong severely, but he actually killed Zhao Youlong.

The master took a bite of the food and then said with a smile: "Are you sure that Zhao Youlong hanged himself?"

Zhou Xiaojun nodded quickly: "Yes, it was hung on the old locust tree at the entrance of the village. There was a fallen stool on the ground below it. It looked like it was used to step on when hanging."

The master stared at him and said: "People who hang themselves all have their heads hanging down. Are you saying that Zhao Youlong's head is up?"

I ate my meal in silence, thinking that he was indeed my master, and I immediately discovered the clue.

Now only I know the truth. Zhao Youlong was killed by my father and did not hang himself.

Of course, I can only let this truth rot in my stomach and I will not tell anyone.

Zhou Xiaojun's face turned a little ugly: "Third Master, when you say that, I'm a little scared."

"What are you afraid of?" My master said with a smile.

Zhou Xiaojun moved a chair and sat aside: "Third Master, the first time I saw Zhao Youlong's body, I was really frightened. His face was that kind of bluish-purple, and although his eyes were closed, his tongue was stretched out so long.

Really scary.

Now you say he didn't hang himself, that's strange. I'm very curious about how he died, Third Master, do you know the truth?"

My master shook his head and said, "I don't know the truth, so I just said it casually."

Zhou Xiaojun continued to whisper: "Third Master, do you think Zhao Youlong will become a ghost?"

The master grinned and said, "Become a ghost? That shouldn't happen, right? Even if he wants to become a ghost, the big locust tree at the entrance of the village can suppress him to death."

Zhou Xiaojun patted his chest and said with a smile: "It would be better if I don't turn into a ghost. Then I don't have to worry about the bad luck that will come from seeing his body."

My master waved his hand: "If nothing happens, just go back."

Zhou Xiaojun showed a flattering smile: "Third Master, there is one more thing that I have always wanted to ask you, but I don't feel comfortable asking."

The master took a sip of soup and said, "Ask."

Zhou Xiaojun's face was full of curiosity: "Last month, the village chief's son died. I heard many people in the village said that the village chief's son was killed by a ghost?

And that ghost is the village chief’s dead daughter! They also said that you invited a Taoist priest to go to the village chief’s house to liberate his son. Is all this true?”

I secretly glanced at Master, wondering if he would tell Zhou Xiaojun the truth.

Master slowly spoke: "Being killed by a ghost is true, and being saved is true, but I can't tell you the specific truth. I promised Zhao Dahai that you shouldn't ask more about this matter.

Xiaojun, you have to remember that sometimes knowing too much is not good for you. Okay, go back."

"Okay, Third Master, you and Jianfei eat slowly." After speaking, Zhou Xiaojun stood up and left quickly.

After he left, my master looked at me: "Jianfei, tell master the truth, do you know about Zhao Youlong's death?"

I shook my head: "I don't know. I came back from school in the evening and passed by the entrance of the village. I didn't see him hanging from the big locust tree at the entrance of the village. He should have hanged himself not long ago."

Master put down his chopsticks, stood up, sighed, put his hands behind his back, and walked towards the bedroom next to him.

I was a little scared and quickly followed him into the bedroom.

I saw Master turned on the TV, leaned against the bed and started watching.

He chuckled and said, "If you don't memorize the text, why are you watching TV?"

Seeing that Master didn't seem angry, I returned to the main room.

After clearing the dishes on the table, I didn't memorize the text, but sneaked out of Master's house and went straight to my own home.

I want to know if Zhao Youlong was really killed by my father.

I was just guessing in my mind before, but I want to get the real answer from my father.

It was already dark now, the moon was high in the sky, and visibility was still good.

Soon, I arrived at the back of the village.

Walking about two hundred meters further is my home.

When I passed the dry well behind the village, I was a little scared because it was where Zhao Dong's body was found.

I subconsciously quickened my pace.

Suddenly, a faint voice came to my ears: "My child, my eyes are gone, can you give me your eyes?"
