Chapter 220: Mayor Huang II

After walking up a flight of stairs, we unknowingly arrived at the third floor. Secretary Wu led the way with ease. The lights in the corridor were unusually bright, shining on the smooth and tidy walls, giving people a holy feeling.

After passing several offices, Secretary Wu finally stopped in front of the door of the innermost office. I looked up and saw a sign hanging above it - the Mayor's Office.

I finally arrived at the mayor's office, and was about to meet Huang Yiyi's father, Mayor Huang. I heard my heartbeat, as excited as gongs and drums.

Secretary Wu bowed and knocked on the door, and the mahogany door made a crisp knocking sound of "Dong! Dong! Dong!"

"Come in!" A loud voice came from inside the room.

Secretary Wu smiled at me and whispered, "Don't be nervous, relax. Mayor Huang is an amiable person. Don't be too nervous. Relax and smile."

To be honest, I am indeed a little nervous, on the one hand because the person I am about to meet is the mayor, and on the other hand because the person I am about to meet is Huang Yiyi’s father.

No matter which one of these two identities I see, I will definitely be nervous. When the two identities are actually the same person, I become even more nervous.

But when I saw Secretary Wu smiling at me, I actually relaxed a little.

With a "squeak", Secretary Wu gently pushed us open. For a moment, I stood nervously at the door and did not dare to go in. Secretary Wu blinked at me and then waved to me, meaning to let me

Go in with him.

I took a deep breath and comforted myself that the ugly daughter-in-law would eventually meet her parents-in-law, so I followed Secretary Wu closely.

As soon as I entered the door, I was suddenly enlightened. The spacious and bright room was filled with sunshine everywhere.

The mayor's office is not as grand as I imagined, with just a few mahogany tables, a few sets of sofas, and bookcases.

Mayor Huang is sitting on his office chair, close to the window, lowering his head and writing something.

He was wearing a crisp suit and looked very energetic.

"Mayor Huang, I brought Zhuge Xingliang here." Secretary Wu said in a very respectful tone, as if he was reporting on daily work.

As soon as he heard my name, Mayor Huang immediately stopped, raised his head, and glanced at me. It happened that I was also looking at him at this time.

Mayor Huang's eyebrows are indeed very similar to Huang Yiyi's. He also wears a pair of black-rimmed glasses.

Mayor Huang just looked at me, nodded, and continued writing with his head down.

Seeing that Mayor Huang didn't speak, Secretary Wu continued knowingly, "Mayor Huang, why don't you get busy first? If you need anything, just call me and I'll go out first!"

Mayor Huang still didn't speak, just nodded.

Secretary Wu really turned around and walked out.

Before leaving, he didn't forget to smile at me, nodded, and made a cheering gesture, and I forced a smile at him.

For me, I am really nervous. Maybe, some people may not be able to see the mayor in their lifetime. Once they do see him, nervousness is inevitable.

As soon as Secretary Wu left, Mayor Huang and I were the only two people left in the spacious office. Mayor Huang didn't speak, he just lowered his head and wrote the materials. I felt that the atmosphere was a bit depressing and my heart was beating fast.

"What are you standing for? Sit down!" Mayor Huang put down his pen and said. He did not look at me, but still looked down at the materials, carefully and seriously.

"Oh well."

I answered, then took a step forward with some restraint and sat on the sofa.
