Volume Three, The Troubled Autumn, Chapter 112

There is great terror between life and death. The life and death of the world depends on oneself. The degree of terror is unimaginable. After hearing Ning Que's words, Sangsang remained silent and didn't know what he was thinking.

Ning Que reached out and touched her forehead, and found that it was slightly cold, but not as serious as when she fell ill. After thinking about it for a while, he put her into a fur coat and carried her out of the black carriage.

The two of them walked on the frozen wasteland and walked to the bodhi tree.

Looking around, the surroundings are deserted, with a few cold willow trees having fallen leaves and dried up. I don't know when the sad and shrill chirping of birds can be heard in the distance. The still green Bodhi tree looks very eye-catching in the wilderness.

Ning Que and Sang Sang studied Buddhism and read scriptures in Lanke Temple for many days, and now they have entered the Zen sect. They clearly felt that some Buddha nature remained on the ground under the Bodhi tree. There was very little Buddha nature, giving people a feeling of desolation and eternity.

.

There are several slightly concave marks on the ground under the Bodhi tree, and the inside is as smooth as a mirror. What's amazing is that neither fallen leaves nor countless years of dust have any residue inside.

Ning Que looked at those marks and made some rough sketches in his mind. He found that they were exactly the marks that would be made on the ground when a person lay down. The small depression at the front should be where the elbow bend bears the force, and then below

A few relatively large ones are the marks left by the body on the ground.

He said to Sangsang: "It is said that when the Buddha reached nirvana, he lay on his side and closed his eyes. Now it seems that this is indeed the case."

Sangsang didn't understand why he took her to see this bodhi tree and the relics left by the Buddha.

"Everyone who practices Buddhism in the world wants to come and worship this Bodhi tree. We didn't think about it, but we came here. If there is such a thing as an opportunity, this is our opportunity."

Ning Que said: "Learning Buddhism is good for your body. Even if it can only cure the symptoms, you should continue. The remaining Buddha nature under this Bodhi tree should be helpful to you in cultivating Buddhism."

Sangsang leaned weakly in his arms and said, "Where will we go in the future?"

Ning Que said: "Of course, back to the academy."

Sangsang's body shrunk slightly. She looked a little uneasy and said, "But I'm very worried."

Ning Que frowned slightly and asked, "What are you worried about?"

"The academy wants to cure me, but if my disease is really the mark left by Pluto, how can I cure it well? I can feel that the remaining Buddha nature under this Bodhi tree will not be of any help to me."

Sangsang said with some sadness: "Have you ever thought about it, if the academy cannot cure my disease until the end, the world will soon be destroyed because of me, what should I do then?"

Ning Que was silent for a moment and then said, "I said I don't care."

Sangsang said in a low voice: "But master and senior brothers will not care as much as you do?"

Ning Que was silent, not knowing how to answer. He knew very well that the teacher and the two senior brothers really wanted to cure Sang Sang's disease. But if they really couldn't cure it, could they really watch the underworld invade?

Sangsang raised her head, looked at him and said seriously: "Ning Que, have you ever thought about committing suicide?"

Ning Que patted her on the back and said: "If it is one of those tragic stories in the book, it is really possible that it will end like this, but I have already said that this is not a story in a book. I don't like reading and I don't want to die.

, let alone die."

Sangsang said sadly: "But we have no future."

The invasion of the underworld represents the arrival of eternal night and the destruction of the human world. The daughter of Hades is naturally the enemy of the entire human world. Even the Academy or the Tang Empire cannot always stand on the opposite side of the entire human world. This is also

It means that no matter how big the world is, there is no room for them.

Ning Que was silent for a long time and said: "I have read the Book of Heaven and the notes left by Buddha. I know that Buddha has seen the future of the human world, so he will find a way to build such a hanging temple.

That’s why the chessboard and the Bon bell were left behind, in order to deal with the invasion of the underworld.”

Sangsang didn't understand why he said these words.

Ning Que looked at her and said: "Master Qishan said that if you try to see the future, even if you just take a glance at it, the future will change. Buddha saw the future back then and he has made so many preparations. Then when he saw

There is a big difference between the natural future and the real future.”

Sangsang said: "You mean the future is not destined, so we don't need to worry?"

Ning Que said: "The future is actually very similar to death. If it is already destined, then worrying is meaningless. If it can be changed, then there is no need for us to worry. We only need to work hard to change."

Sangsang said: "I understand, this sentence makes sense."

Ning Que said: "Although I can occasionally say some very reasonable things, these words are indeed not said by me, but by the teacher and his elders, so I firmly believe it."

Then he looked into Sangsang's eyes and said: "Perhaps the whole world will not allow us to live anymore. We still have to return to the academy, because if this is the last time of trust, of course it must be left to the teacher."

A smile appeared on Sangsang's pale face and she nodded.

Ning Que smiled and said: "I may die at any time, and tomorrow may be the last day. In fact, it is not necessarily a bad thing. At least it can urge us to do many things that we wanted to do before but did not dare to do."

Sang Sang looked at him quietly and summoned up the courage to say, "I want to have a child with you."

Ning Que was stunned, then smiled bitterly and said, "It takes a long time to have a baby. Is there anything you want to do now?"

Sangsang asked: "What do you want to do now?"

Ning Que led her to the bodhi tree, took out a sharp arrow cluster, and carved a line of small words on this tree, which is regarded as an absolute symbol and sacred and inviolable by Buddhist believers in the world.

"In the autumn of the sixteenth year of Tianqi, Academy Ning Que and his wife Sang Sang, the daughter of Pluto, came here for a visit."

The black carriage moved forward alone in the cold wasteland. Because of the vast wilderness on all sides, the extremely fast carriage looked like it was moving slowly on a piece of black and gray paper.

Ning Que and Sang Sang had lived in the wilderness before, and were no strangers to this monotony and desolation. They were very familiar with it. They knew that even in the wilderness in the northern part of the Central Plains, if they were unlucky, it could take ten days and a half.

There wasn't a single person in sight. What's more, this was deep in the even more desolate wilderness of the far west.

But he didn't expect that just about ten miles after the carriage left the Bodhi tree, a person appeared in the field ahead. And he was the kind of person he least wanted to meet right now.

He was an old monk with a dark face, shabby robes and dust all over his body.

When walking in the world, the three types of people who need to be vigilant most are monks, Taoists, priests, and women. This wilderness is not far from the Xuankong Temple. No matter how you look at it, this old monk must be related to the Xuankong Temple. Ning Que looked slightly stern.

Looking at the black carriage that slowly stopped dozens of feet in front of him, the wrinkles on the old monk's face gradually relaxed, the gravel in his dark skin fell, and his quiet eyes showed a look of compassion.

.

The old monk announced the Buddha's name and said: "Who would have thought that the daughter of Hades and the thirteenth gentleman of the academy would actually come to Xuankong Temple. No wonder no matter how hard we search in the world, we can't find any trace of you."

There was a green curtain hanging in front of the black carriage, and the voice of the old monk in the wilderness came through the curtain. Ning Que listened silently. He lowered his head and made his own preparations, with only a slight pause in his movements.

Because he heard from the words of this old monk that the world has been searching for him and Sang Sang for a long time. However, why did he and Sang Sang alarm the whole world if they didn't just escape from Lanke Temple?

The old monk slowly raised his right palm and clasped it together in front of his chest. Thinking of a possibility, the look of compassion in his eyes became more intense, and he sighed: "It seems that it was indeed Senior Brother Qishan who sent you here, where is the chessboard?

"

"If we hand over the Buddha chessboard, will you let us go?"

Ning Que looked at the green curtain in front of him, his voice showed no emotion, but his face suddenly turned pale, his body began to tremble violently, and the threads of the torn black hospital uniform on his body became denser.

Sangsang knew that he was injured and was very worried, but she pursed her lips tightly without making a sound, shrank her body into the corner of the carriage, and covered her body with the quilt.

The old monk sighed and said: "The Thirteenth Master of the Academy is indeed as rumored, he is the best fighter in the world. He knows that the underworld has a different path, but he still does not forget to mess with my mind. However..."

The words stopped abruptly at this point, and the old monk's expression suddenly condensed. He felt two extremely sharp and powerful talismans, and unexpectedly came to him silently, and then began to cut through the cold autumn wind!

In the black carriage carriage, the quilt covering Sangsang's body had many very thin slits. If you look carefully, you can see that each slit is actually two very tight slits, and cotton bursts out of the slits.

.

Ning Que's face was pale and his whole body was trembling. His fingers moved slowly and laboriously through the air in front of him, as if there was a heavy mountain hanging on his fingertips. The black uniform on his body was cut into countless pieces by the overflowing talismans.

Cloth, the green carriage curtain was cut into three parts and slowly fell down.

The old monk's face was slightly condensed. He sat cross-legged and turned his palms close to his chest slightly. An extremely pure and far-reaching Buddha's breath suddenly came out spontaneously, protecting his body like a light shield.

In the black carriage dozens of feet away.

Ning Que retracted his fingers, drew the bow and nocked the arrow. He picked up the hard and tight bow string with his middle and index fingers and twisted it slightly. However, when he let go, there was only a soft popping sound, and a white turbulence of air burst out from the end of the iron arrow.

, and then disappear instantly!

A dark mark appeared on the falling cyan curtain. The cyan cloth in the mark slowly spread out and was thrown into the air like pollen, revealing an extremely round arrow hole.

The green curtain was still falling, and the arrow hole was forming on it. Then, a moment later, there was only a sharp hissing sound, and Ning Que's figure tore through the green curtain, jumped out of the carriage like lightning, and rushed towards the old monk dozens of feet away.

Skip away!

The two extremely powerful talismans in the sky in the wasteland are naturally Ning Que's two characters. These are his most powerful talismans. In Lanke Temple, not even Qinian and Ye Su can do it in a short time.

It was cracked internally, but the dark-faced and old ascetic monk, who was unknown to him, was able to temporarily resist with the Buddha's breath.

But even so, under the terrifying cutting power of the two characters, the ascetic old monk crossed his legs and thought, resisting with the Buddha's breath, but his body covered with dust and gravel was restrained in place by the two characters.

Under such circumstances, how could the ascetic old monk avoid the powerful Yuan Shisan Arrow?

The old monk knew that he could not avoid Ning Que's iron arrows. Just when he faintly sensed that there was something strange in the black carriage in the distance, he responded in advance.

The surface of the old monk's left palm, which had been quietly stroking his knee, suddenly glowed with a golden luster, and it looked as if it had turned into pure gold and was made into a Buddha's palm!

In a very short period of time, the old monk crushed the autumn wind and raised his golden left palm. It seemed to be slow but in fact it was extremely fast and blocked it in front of his chest. At this moment, the iron arrow had arrived!

The sharp arrow cluster carried extremely powerful power and hit the old monk's golden jade-like left palm!

Only a slight impact was heard, and the golden and jade left palm of the ascetic old monk shattered into pieces. The broken parts were bloodless and fleshless, glowing with golden brilliance, and scattered like golden sand on the wasteland.

The iron arrow shattered the old monk's golden palm, but did not stop there. It flew upwards diagonally, penetrated the old monk's left shoulder with a hiss, brought with it a cloud of blood and the entire shoulder, turned into a stream of light, and disappeared in the distance.

.

The old monk was seriously injured and his face suddenly turned pale, but he did not show any fear. Instead, he was extremely calm. His chest and abdomen sunk slightly, sucking all the air in front of him into his chest, and then opened his withered lips slightly.

However, at this moment, Ning Que's figure followed the arrow like lightning.

His right foot stepped heavily on the ground, shaking up dust and ice chips. He exerted force on his waist and abdomen, and the simple knife in his hand stabbed into the old monk's abdomen with a pop. The awe-inspiring energy suddenly exploded as the knife entered!

There was a roaring sound, like a heavy rain suddenly rising from the clouds. Under the powerful force of the Pu Dao's sword and the Haoran Qi, the old monk's body turned into countless pieces of flesh and blood, splashing everywhere.

After a while, the pieces of flesh and blood fell from the sky and landed on the hard wasteland ground, making a dense crackling sound, like a heavy rain falling from the clouds finally reaching the ground.

Ning Que sheathed his sword, took out a fire talisman from his sleeve, threw it on the ground, and then rushed back towards the black carriage without even turning around to look at the flesh and blood with the talisman's fire gradually rising.

The black carriage started again and headed towards the distance of the wasteland.

The flames gradually grew on the wasteland, and the pieces of flesh and blood of the old ascetic monk were scorched and then burned to ashes. A dozen black crows flew from nowhere, smelling the smell of the fire, and screamed miserably.

, very unwilling.

In the black carriage.

Sangsang asked with a pale face: "Who is it?"

"I don't know. I only know that this ascetic monk is very strong. He must not be an ordinary monk in Xuankong Temple, at least at the level of Master Baoshu, otherwise the two characters will kill him."

Ning Que directed the big black horse to rush toward the southeast. He took the towel from Sangsang and wiped the blood on his face. After a moment of silence, he said, "If he is prepared, it will be difficult for me to kill him."

Sangsang said: "I don't know who it is, but it's so strong, why do you just kill people like this?"

Ning Que carefully wiped the blood on the knife and said calmly: "People all over the world want to kill us, so from now on, I will kill anyone who stands in front of us."
