Chapter 35 Meeting the Old God Again
As the Bodhisattva spoke, he plucked three leaves from the willow branch and placed them behind the traveler's head.
He shouted, "Change!"
These three curved willow leaves turned into three life-saving hairs.
The Bodhisattva said, "If it really comes to that time when there is no one to help you, you can use these three hairs to adapt to the situation and save you from the urgent disaster."
When the traveler heard these words, his face lightened up a little.
He thanked the compassionate Bodhisattva who saved the suffering.
The Bodhisattva nodded slightly, but did not land to meet Li Fu.
The fragrant wind lingered around Him, and the colorful mist floated around Him, and he turned directly to Putuo Luojia Mountain.
The traveler waited until the Bodhisattva's figure gradually faded away, and then he lowered his head on the cloud.
He grabbed the dragon's horse by its hair, met Li Fu and said, "Master! There is a horse! There is a horse again!"
Li Fu saw that the horse's eyes were bright and it seemed to be stronger than the previous horse, so he had to do a full set of tricks.
There was joy on his face, and he asked, "Disciple, why has this horse become fatter than before after all the hard work?"
"And I see that the stream is deep and the water is fast, and I don't know where you found it from?"
When Wukong heard this, he couldn't help but show off. He said, "Master! This horse is not the ordinary horse before. This is a dragon horse."
Without waiting for Li Fu to ask, he explained, "Master! This is the golden-headed Revealer who invited the Bodhisattva from the South China Sea."
"The Bodhisattva transformed the evil dragon in the stream into our white horse."
"It looks like Master's previous horse. You can see it's stronger, but its coat color and appearance are the same."
"It's just that the saddle and pedals are missing. This can be easily solved by me, Sun."
After hearing what Wukong said, Li Fu said, "Where is the Bodhisattva? I want to go and thank you!"
Wukong said, "The Bodhisattva may be a little impatient, and has probably returned to his southern sea at this time!"
Li Fu wondered if the Bodhisattva was still angry because he asked for an extra hoop and had not yet put the hoop on the monkey's head.
He picked up a handful of fragrant soil and asked Wukong, "Which way is south?"
The traveler replied, "Over there!"
Li Fu faced south, prayed for a week, and recited his thanksgiving.
He accepted the courtesy and moved on with Wukong.
Wukong also has some head-to-tail processing.
He first drove away the Earth Mountain God, and then had a discussion with Jiedi Gongcao.
I saw that the earth and mountain gods disappeared, and the merits of uncovering truths came into being.
The vast land is no longer lively.
Only Li Fu, Wukong, and Long Ma are left.
The traveler casually cut down the trees on the roadside, took out a hair, and blew on it to turn it into a machete.
In a few clicks, the log was changed into the shape of a saddle and pedals.
He blew on the fire again and burned off the burrs on the surface.
Then I randomly rubbed some hemp rope and installed the temporary saddle and pedals on the white dragon horse.
He asked Li Fu to mount his horse.
Li Fu sat on it.
He didn't know whether the white dragon horse still had any complaints after being transformed by Guanyin.
So, he comforted him by saying, "Thank you for your hard work in learning the scriptures. When you come to Lingshan in person one day, you will also achieve enlightenment."
After hearing this, the horse raised its head and neighed twice, becoming even more well-behaved.
Li Fu looked at the direction of the sun and determined which side was west.
There are dangerous mountains on both sides. If you want to go west, it seems like you have to pass through Yingchou Stream.
Li Fu asked, "Wukong, where can we find a boat to cross the river?"
The traveler smiled and said, "Master! Look around here, there are wilderness and mountains. Where are there any homes? Where do the boats come from?"
"In my opinion, our white horse has lived here for a long time. He must be proficient in the hydrology of this area."
"Master, just ride it and use it as a boat to cross over."
Li Fu heard this and thought it was feasible. He said, "Then let's go."
Li Fu got on the horse, and the traveler picked up his luggage.
One person, one monkey and one dragon and horse arrived at Yingchou Stream.
It’s just that this dragon and horse haven’t entered the water yet.
I saw a fisherman appearing on the upper reaches of the stream. He was holding a bamboo pole and a raft of dead wood at his feet, and he was swimming all the way down the stream.
When Sun Xingzhe saw him, he immediately waved.
"Old fisherman, come here! Come here! Come here!"
"We are pilgrims from the East who want to go west."
"My master is a little sad here. Come and help him out!"
When the fisherman heard this, he came over with his pole.
I saw him with a fluttering white beard. Although he was wearing coarse linen clothes, looking up, he looked like a fairy.
Everyone in the world believes that he is a land god, but I am afraid no one believes that he is a country fisherman.
Wukong asked his master to dismount and support him.
Li Fu got on the raft.
Wukong grabbed the dragon and came over, then went to pack his luggage.
The old fisherman opened the pole.
Although the arms are thin, the dead wood raft is like the wind and arrows.
The scenery on both sides of the strait couldn't help but retreat, and before you knew it, you had passed the Yingchou steep stream and reached the west bank.
Li Fu sent Wukong to untie the package and take several Tang Dynasty copper coins with the old fisherman.
But the old fisherman held on to his bamboo pole and ran away from the shore. He kept repeating, "No money! No money!"
While he was talking, the bamboo raft had already entered the depths of Yingchou Stream, looking shadowy and ethereal.
Li Fu knew very well that when people do things, they must be rewarded.
He couldn't help but clasped his hands in thanks.
Sun Xingzhe said, "Master, don't thank him anymore! Don't you know him?"
Li Fu said, "I have never known him before."
The traveler said, "He is that old Taibai, who works part-time as a water god in this stream. He has never come to greet my grandson before, and I haven't beaten him yet."
"Now that he is crossing the river with you, Master, it is regarded as atonement for his sins. How dare he ask for money?"
Only then did Li Fu realize, "If it is Taibai Jinxing, we have indeed had a relationship before."
He was on the west bank of Yingchou Stream and looked west again, only to see that this area was flat and wide.
He mounted the horse, with Wukong leading the way.
People, monkeys, dragons and horses threw themselves onto the road and rushed to the west.
Before I knew it, the red sun was setting in the west, and the sky was getting late.
The faint clouds seem to disturb the peaceful sky.
The blocked moon and stars are dim, as if they are not quite awake.
There is thick white frost hanging on the leaves that have not yet fallen, and you will feel cold just by looking at them.
The west wind blowing in front of you is so cold that it seems to be able to penetrate your body.
The lonely bird fell into the distant mountains.
No living creatures could be seen in the sparse forest, only the cries of apes could be heard.
For such a long distance, there is not a single soul.
Li Fu sat on his horse and looked out in the dusk.
He finally saw a farmhouse on the roadside in the distance.
He said, "Wukong, there seems to be a house in front of you. I'll go there to stay overnight."
Monkey raised his head and said, "Master! That's not some manor."
Li Fu asked, "What is that? Why can't I see it?"
Wukong replied, "Master, look at this house. Although it looks like a human home, it doesn't have the backbone of a flying fish to stabilize a beast. This is definitely a nunnery."
After asking and answering questions, the two masters arrived at the door of the house.
