Chapter 3 Number of Team Members

Team members

Two teams should participate in a game, and each team must not have more than 11 players, and one goalkeeper must be. If any team has less than 7 players, the game cannot start.

Official competition

In a formal competition hosted by FIFA, Intercontinental Federation or National Association, up to 3 substitutes can be used per game.

The competition rules should state that several substitutes can be nominated, from 3 to no more than 7.

Other competitions

In other games, substitutes can be used in accordance with the following regulations:

·The participating teams reach an agreement on the maximum number of replacements;

· Notify the referee before the game;

If the referee is not notified before the start of the game or the participating teams have not reached any agreement, the number of substitutes that can be used shall not exceed 3.

All competitions

In all competitions, the list of substitutes must be handed over to the referee before the game begins. Unnominated substitutes are not allowed to participate in the competition.

Substitute

The following regulations must be followed when substituting players:

·The referee should be notified before substituting;

·The substitute can enter the competition field after being left by the substitute and get the referee signal;

· Substitutes can only enter from the center line when the game is stopped;

·When the substitute enters the competition field, the substitute procedure is completed;

· Since then, the substitute became a player on the field and was terminated by the substitute as a player on the field;

·Players who are substituted shall not participate in the game again;

·All substitutes have the right to exercise their powers regardless of whether they are on the court.

Replace goalkeeper

Any player on the field can exchange positions with the goalkeeper and stipulate:

· Notify the referee before switching positions;

·Switch positions when the match stops.

Violation/Punishment

If the substitute enters the competition venue without the permission of the referee:

·Stop the competition;

· Warn the substitute and show a yellow card to leave the competition venue;

·The game starts again by falling ball when the game stops.

If the player has not received permission from the referee before switching positions with the goalkeeper:

·Continue the competition;

·The relevant players will be warned and shown a yellow card when the game becomes a dead ball.

For any other violation of this rule:

·The relevant team members will be warned and shown a yellow card.

Start the game again

If the referee stops the game execution warning:

·The opponent's players kick indirect free kick at the place where the ball is located when the game stops.

Players and substitutes were ordered to appear

A player is ordered to appear before the kickoff, and only one of the nominated substitutes can be selected to replace him.

Any nominated substitute who is sentenced to appear is not allowed to be replaced before the kickoff or after the game begins.

International Football Council Resolution

·Resolution 1

According to the conditions stated in Chapter 3 of the Rules, the minimum number of players remaining on the field for a team is determined by the National Association. However, the Council believes that if any team has less than 7 players, the game will not be allowed to continue.
