Gemini-class battleship of the twelve constellations(1/2)

In 1901, in order to obtain the British Fearless Battleship Plan, Germany had to place a naval order with China. This was the first time that Germany had ordered a battleship abroad and the first time that a warship was sold by the Chinese naval arsenal.

The Gemini-class battleship is the third-class battleship of the twelve constellations of the Chinese Royal Navy. This class of ships was born as a battleship of the Fearless Age. In terms of the original design intention, the Emperor Qin Royal Navy aims to make money and instigate the British-German naval arms race.

Gemini-class battleships, whether in terms of design tonnage, firepower system, or even speed, all completely suppress the British Fearless Class battleships. Therefore, the British Navy had to increase the tonnage of the dreadnought and develop a new type of battleship that restrains Gemini-class battleships.

This is her strength, but the warship is not perfect, and her weaknesses also exist.

Because of the old-fashioned Germans, although this class of ships was built in China, the Germans did not pay attention to the seaworthiness of warships. This is related to the fact that Germany has always been in the Baltic Sea and has no requirements for oceans. Therefore, this class of ships is much worse than that of British battleships in terms of seaworthiness. Second-class artillery cannot be effectively fired in deep seas or under strong winds and waves, so strictly speaking, there is a gap between firepower and dreadnoughts.

At the same time, since the Gemini-class battleship was built by China, it inherited too many British shipbuilding methods and the caliber of the weapon was British, which was a huge challenge for the German naval logistics. Therefore, in most cases, this class of ships only served as the flagship of the German local fleet, patrolled the coastal areas, and did not participate in the war.

The Gemini-class battleship was constructed by the Emperor Qin Pearl Harbor Shipyard and designed and built, named: Gemini.
