There were 9981 difficulties on the way to obtain the scriptures, but in fact, there were not many real monsters that Sun Wukong encountered along the way. Although both Buddhism and Heavenly Court wanted to use the hands of the demon clan to kill Tang Sanzang, because of Sun Wukong's reputation among the demon clan, except for a few monsters who participated in the eighty-one difficulties, more monsters or famous monsters all maintained a wait-and-see attitude.

This leads to the fact that the monsters encountered along the way are definitely not enough, so naturally they are not enough. So what should I do? As a result, the Tathagata and the Jade Emperor discussed: Let’s both send some of our own people to become monsters, right? In this way, if we can really kill Tang Sanzang or Sun Wukong, we can also blame the demon clan. Therefore, on the road to the West, the monsters encountered were either the mount of this Bodhisattva or the pet of this god.

In addition to these, Tathagata felt that he had to knock or remind Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong when necessary, so that they could know that although you seem to be free now, in fact everything is under our control. The best example is the Four Saints' Testing Zen Heart.

The old mother of Lishan, Guanyin, and Manjushri and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, these four saints turned into three beauties and an old woman, testing the sincerity of Tang Sanzang and his group going west. This sounds nice to say, to try the Zen hearts of the four people. But in fact? At the beginning, Sun Wukong saw the true appearance of these four saints with his igneous eyes.

Tang Sanzang had no indecent thoughts about women, and as for Sha Wujing, he was an honest and honest person. So who was the main test of this test? Is it Zhu Bajie? It was not. Because Zhu Bajie had just left home at that time, he didn't really go to the West to seek scriptures.

If Zhu Bajie had to choose by himself, he would rather be a demon in Fuling Mountain than go to the West to obtain any sutras and become a Buddha. So for Zhu Bajie, there is no need to try this, just look at it. Zhu Bajie's pursuit of the sutras was completely forced by Guanyin and the Jade Emperor. Moreover, Zhu Bajie's performance was indeed not firm.

Let’s not talk about whether Zhu Bajie saw the true identity of these four people. Anyway, Zhu Bajie’s performance is that I don’t want to obtain the scriptures at all, and I would rather marry a wife and have children. But for Zhu Bajie, there is no intention to obtain the scriptures at all. How did these four saints try? It just hangs Zhu Bajie on a tree for a night. For Zhu Bajie, there is no difference between hanging for a night and sleeping in bed for a night. So for Zhu Bajie, such punishment is useless for the Zhu Ba family.

For those who do not have any Zen mind like Zhu Bajie, what's the use of trying Zen mind this time? Therefore, the most fundamental purpose of the Four Saints this time is to tell Sun Wukong and Tang Sanzang that we know everything about you, and you must be careful. Anyone you meet in the future may be us, so it's better to go to the West to seek the scriptures honestly.

In this way, if we change our thoughts, what if Zhu Bajie also saw the true bodies of these four saints at that time? Or maybe Sun Wukong told Zhu Bajie the true bodies of these four saints? Suppose that Zhu Bajie still pretended not to know and took advantage of Guanyin and Lishan’s mother, then Zhu Bajie’s behavior is worth pondering.

Moreover, according to the personalities of Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie, such a thing is very likely to happen. Compared to the Four Saints, Sun Wukong seemed to be more willing to watch Zhu Bajie pretend to be clear and tease these Four Saints. You should know that there are not many opportunities to make Guanyin serve tea and pour water and then speak softly and act coquettishly. Moreover, there are definitely not many opportunities to openly tease Guanyin and Li Shan’s mother.

Therefore, perhaps this is the true situation of the Four Saints’ Zen mind.

Tathagata asked the four saints to warn Tang Sanzang and his group in this way that you are controlled by us, but Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie took the tricks, and Zhu Bajie even openly teased saints like Guan Shiyin and Lishan Laomu. He then told Tathagata intentionally or unintentionally that even if we are controlled by you, we are not easy to mess with. Don’t you see that I dare to tease Guanyin? But as for whether Guanyin and Lishan Laomu know the real situation, it seems that they don’t know, otherwise it would be as simple as hanging Zhu Bajie for one night.

People in the world say that Zhu Bajie is lazy and greedy for money and lust, but who knows that this is just what Zhu Bajie wants others to see. Only the strength shown by Sun Wukong can make Tathagata and the Jade Emperor relax their guard. Because Sun Wukong is such a person, once Sun Wukong becomes weak, they will definitely feel that there must be deceit in it. And Zhu Bajie's weakness and incompetence can make Tathagata and the Jade Emperor mistakenly think that everything is under control and can give Sun Wukong more time.

In addition, Tang Sanzang must ensure and show his determination to go west to obtain scriptures, so that the Jade Emperor and Tathagata can believe that their plans have always been perfect.

Hunters and prey, at some point, are actually plotting against each other. As for who in the end, it depends on whoever becomes the food on the plate, the knife in his hand is sharper and the teeth in his mouth are tougher.
