Chapter 36(1/2)
: Explanation of Secrets in Front of the Palace
It was a difficult night, and Kokai stood in the corridor and let the strong wind blow...
It is impossible to describe his mood at this moment...
No matter how Kamikai is worried about Aotaki, the fact that Kiyotaki is missing can never be changed...
Life still has to continue, life still has to go on, and Kōkai can only choose to face it with it with strength.
After a whole night of struggle, the morning sun finally appeared on the beast tiles of Changning Palace.
The hurricane gradually stopped, and the worst weather since the capital was moved.
This night, I experienced a huge storm, and the entire capital was covered with decay and ruined walls and a mess...
Although the construction of the palace is relatively solid, the damage to the "inside" is also terrible.
Changning Hall was destroyed, the entire roof was unveiled, inside and outside the hall, everything was ragged, and blood was left everywhere...
In the courtyard and on the corridor, there are traces of fighting, and the same blood stains...
The servant who came to check the situation reported all this to Emperor Saga in shock.
It is impossible to believe - this is the damage of hurricanes and heavy rains - there are deep giant claw scratches on the walls and deep beast marks on the floor...
I can't believe it - the sound of beasts and foxes last night was the sound of the wind.
I can't believe it - two muddy monks defeated the monster.
I can't believe it - the monk covered in blood was safe and sound.
When the servant came to check, Kōkai sat cross-legged in Changning Hall, guarding beside Prince Zhiquan and Masako Nei.
Zhiquan has woken up and is meditating and adjusting his breath.
Although Prince Masako was awake, he could not move.
She had injuries on her head, was weak, and fell asleep again.
But at this moment, the dragon energy is protecting the "Human Yellow Inner Pill", and she no longer needs someone to bless her.
For safety reasons, Kōkai asked his maid to move Prince Masako to Qingliang Hall and join the royal family's women.
Emperor Saga's panic and uneasiness disappeared as the sun rose high.
Under the steps of Zihuan Hall, the two monks both have good looks and extraordinary temperament.
After taking a shower and changing clothes... the muddy, sweat and blood were swept away. Saga saw two brand new monks, which were Kōkai and Tōin.
The older one is about 37 years old, with a righteous body and bright eyes, making people feel very secure.
He is about 22 years old, with clear eyebrows and bright eyes, making people feel very pure and pure.
"Kami, how is Masako's situation?"
"Your Majesty the Emperor, the situation of the Nei Prince is not optimistic yet, and the little monk has not yet recovered the Nei Prince's soul."
"Master, what should I do? Masako...she..." Saga was a little at a loss when she thought about her beloved daughter's worries about her life.
"Master, you must find a way no matter what. As long as you can save Masako's life, I can agree to any conditions." For the sake of the life of your beloved daughter, Saga even softened his tone.
My daughter's every frown and smile touches her heart.
Once upon a time, this little girl who was walking in a low position threw herself into her arms and called her father...
Once upon a time, she grew up to be a graceful little beauty, shyly presented her father with her own embroidered brocade as a gift...
The little bits of warmth surged into the heart of Saga, and the grief of losing her daughter could not be imagined...
Every woman has a man who will love you forever. This man is not your husband, not your lover, but your father.
Emperor Saga asked Kūkai in a nearly infarcted voice: "Master, do you have a way? Do you have a way?"
At this moment, Emperor Saga was begging Kūkai as a father. His eyes were full of expectations, and tears had already condensed in his eyes.
He was afraid that Kōkai would say the word "no" and kept repeating: "Master, you must have a way... you must have a way."
Emperor Saga knew whether they were facing humans, but monsters... unknown monsters...
Monster... No one can fight against Japan, no one can defeat it.
Apart from Kōkai, he really has no one to rely on.
Facing Emperor Saga's earnest gaze and sad face, Kōkai could not put his heart into saying "no".
However, after losing the blood vessel bottle, Kōkai was not sure to say "you".
Even now, Kōkai himself is at a loss.
"The little monk will do his best. Please make a promise." Kūkai did not forget to propose conditions to Emperor Saga.
"Saving Masako is something that must be done no matter what. Since that's the case, you might as well negotiate the conditions first." Kooka is a meticulous person.
"As long as you can save Master!...Master, what do you want?"
"In terms of Prince Zhengzi Nei, the little monk will do his best. The little monk just wanted to ask His Majesty the Emperor to establish the status of Tantric Buddhism and allow the little monk to pass on the secret Dharma in Japan. The little monk used Tantric Buddhism to save His Highness Prince Zhengzi Nei, so he first asked His Majesty to allow him to establish the status of Tantric Buddhism so that the little monk could use Tantric Buddhism."
Kooka did not respond to Saga's request positively, but he raised his request lightly.
What he meant was——“If you do not establish the status of Tantra, you will not save the Master”, but you are very skillful when you say it out—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
But in fact, Kōkai was not sure about the soul of Prince Masako--he took it aside.
"I allow the establishment of Tantric Buddhism and the inheritance in Japan, so that you can impose Tantric Buddhism without any worries. But can you be sure that Zhengzi is fine?"
"Your Majesty, the little monk is not sure. But the little monk is sure of one thing--except for secret methods, there is no other way to save His Highness the Prince. If you fail to save the prince, it is because the little monk has not practiced the Dharma well, and it is because of the little monk, not the secret method."
"In this way, it is necessary to practice tantra?"
"It is necessary to secret method!"
"What exactly are you talking about tantra?"
"Does your Majesty want to know?"
"Yes! I'm very curious..."
Kūkai said, "Then please listen to the monk's detailed explanation... A long time ago, there was a prince of the Sakyamuni tribe named 'Godatama Siddhartha' in the Western Indian Kingdom.
In order to save the world, he abandoned his status as a prince and became a monk and became a monk under the Bodhi tree and became the supreme teacher of the human and heavenly beings - Shakyamuni Buddha, who is what we call Buddha.
After enlightenment, the Buddha hoped to pass on the method of liberation from the sea of suffering on earth so that people can be free from birth, old age, illness, death and suffering.
However, people in the world have different wisdom and different aptitudes, so they cannot fully understand the true meaning of Buddhism. Therefore, the wisdom mantra spoken by the Buddha was called "secret Dharma".
The Buddha explained the wisdom of the world through 84,000 Dharmas by chance, so that people can enlighten their lives.
This led to the different sects of Buddhism.
A person with a strong aptitude who can pass on the "true meaning of Buddhism" after the Buddha's enlightenment is called a disciple of Tantric Buddhism.
Those who practice meditation and enlightenment of Buddhism are called Zen disciples.
Those who practice chanting the name of "Amitabha" and enlightening the Dharma are called disciples of the Pure Land Sect.
Nowadays, many schools of Buddhism have the cause and effect…”
Kōkai is knowledgeable and quotes classics. He talks about the history of Buddhism and makes Emperor Saga very excited.
Emperor Saga asked, "In this way, only the disciples of Tantric Buddhism have inherited all the wisdom of the Buddha's Dharma."
“That’s exactly that.”
Emperor Saga asked again: "I have Buddhism and tantric methods in Japan. Is it different from the tantric methods that the master said?"
Kong Hai continued to say: "Dharma has divided into many schools, and different schools have introduced Buddhism to the Tang Kingdom. Japan has also absorbed a large amount of Buddhism from the Tang Kingdom. It also contains some tantric teachings, but these tantric teachings are incomplete, just 'one Dharma', 'the original Dharma'..., not a complete set of tantric teachings, and can only be called 'miscellaneous secrets'."
Emperor Saga seemed to understand and said, "In this way, I do not have complete secret methods in Japan."
Kakukai continued:
"The secret method is composed of the "two parts of gold and fetus".
In the fourth year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty (716 AD), Shan Wuwei Sanzang came to Tang State by land at the age of 80 and passed the "Feal Tibetan Realm" technique to Tang State.
In the eighth year of Kaiyuan (720 AD), Vajra Zhi and his disciple Bukong Sanzang arrived at the Tang Kingdom from the water route and introduced the "Vajra Realm" to the Tang Kingdom.
The two great Dharmas of Tantric Buddhism were finally "Golden Fetal Heman" in the Tang Dynasty.
"Good and fearless, Vajra wisdom, and the Three Treasures of Not Enlightenment" was called the "Three Talents of Kaiyuan" in the Tang Dynasty.
The secret method is passed down from the "Bukong Sanzang" to the "Huiguo Dajieli" and is already the seventh ancestor.
The little monk took the Tantric Stick from the hands of the "Huiguo Da Acharya" in Qinglong Temple and passed the Tantric Strategy back to Japan.
The little monk passed on his hands was the true meaning of Tantric Buddhism, and returned to his country with the Tantric treasure given by Master Huiguo.
For this reason, the young monk was willing to disobey the 20-year study period of international students and returned to China early in order to pass on the secret Dharma in Japan and bring back the treasures of the secret Dharma obtained.
During the safe period, international students need to study in Tang Kingdom for 20 years before they can return to China. Those who return to China early will be convicted.
Everything the monk said is true, and there is a directory of objects that he brought back - the 'Imperial Invitation Directory' as evidence."
The "Imperial Invitation Catalog" is a catalog of rare classics, treasures, and... invited by Kōkai in the Tang Dynasty. The items recorded in them once shocked the court.
To be continued...
