Chapter 127 Black Friday
Friday, April 13th.
Most Westerners hate these two numbers - the 13th and Friday. If the 13th of a certain month happens to hit Friday, then this day is generally called "Black Friday". People will cancel most of the risky plans originally planned for the day, and if it is more exaggerated, some even choose to stay in bed all day. People will refuse to take a plane, buy a house or buy stocks, and merchants will not even dare to do business on this day - they are often more superstitious groups.
Today is exactly like this day. "Black Friday" comes with the sound of rolling thunder, accompanied by a heavy rain. People are unintentionally staying on the slippery street. People on the street are walking in a hurry, staring at the road with rainwater under their feet.
There is a newsstand on the corner of the street just a few dozen steps away from Eric's neighborhood. The boss Jonah has been watching his stall for more than ten years. He is considered an old acquaintance of Eric. After school, he would come to the stall to chat with the boss from time to time and buy a newspaper for the day. For Eric, there are not many acquaintances who can chat with every day. However, the boss is a little old now. He is not sure how long he can sit in this newsstand. Maybe he will close the stall and go home to retire after the New Year.
Time left a few wrinkles on Jonah's face, and a big beard was half black and half white. He held a big umbrella to cover his newsstand, and sat in his seat, reading the newspaper boredly through a pair of reading glasses, whose glasses almost narrowed into a slit.
It was at this moment that a guest wearing a black windbreaker came to the newsstand. He wore a dome top hat and black leather gloves on both hands. The rain flowed down the round brim of the hat, and the outer skin of the windbreaker was filled with water droplets. He looked like a British gentleman in his thirties.
The guest bent down and took a copy of today's newspaper, and the front page headline was accompanied by a photo of Stark's residence that collapsed halfway. The media did not get a lot of detailed information, but according to the gossip, the story of Iron Man fighting with "a group of monsters who would catch fire" seemed to be related to the recent series of horror explosions in the United States, but the matter seemed to have been solved by Iron Man.
"There are so many things like this recently." The boss Jonah glanced at the guest and said, "This world is getting crazy, right? Newspaper headlines are now full of strange things."
"uh-huh."
The gentleman hummed vaguely from his throat, threw down coins at the newsstand, and took the newspaper away.
Jonah suddenly remembered something and was suddenly stunned.
"Wait!" he stood up and asked inconspicuously toward his back who was about to leave in the rain, "You are...Dr. Charlotte?"
The gentleman stayed, turned his head and smiled gently: "Long time no see, boss."
Jonah's mouth opened in an "O" shape almost in surprise: "But......... after so many years, why do you look... unchanged at all? Where have you been in the past years? Your son..."
"Ah, Eric, he's really great." Dr. Charlotte said meaningfully. "I've been paying attention to his growth, and he's growing better than I thought. As a father... I'm very relieved."
He smiled happily, and his back quickly disappeared into the rain curtain.
His name is Padric Charlotte, and it's a story about him.
He had been thinking about it for many years, and the plan had started a long time ago. Eric completed all the final tests needed for Amodor's system for him. He had collected all the necessary data. Eric could be said to have exceeded the task assigned without his knowledge. Padrick was very happy. He decided to give his son a chance - to let him join his plan, but unfortunately he refused, which was a pity - for Eric.
But this would not have any effect. Everything was planned, just like when Columbus approached the New World, and the idea just came out of him was so excited that he couldn't help himself.
But a variable appeared, a woman.
When Padric thought of her, he had a headache. It was the only part he missed in his plan, and it could be a fatal part.
To him, that woman was simply a gathering of resentment.
Only half an hour later, the woman also appeared in front of Jonah's newsstand and pulled out the same newspaper. She wore a black dome hat, a thin layer of black veil on her face, a black leather jacket, and a white scarf around her neck.
"I just met an old customer." The boss Jonah couldn't help but speak again, "It might be weird to say it, but you feel exactly the same."
"Yeah?"
The woman smiled softly, left the coins and took the newspaper away.
Her name is Yvette Charlotte, who curses the last name.
The man felt that this was a story about him, and he felt that everything was developing according to the script he wrote.
He was wrong, and Evette was the one who made sure of the variables in his script.
Padric was also a good person, a real genius, a person who really wanted to change the world, and a person she loved.
But suddenly, everything changed. Without any signs, he was like a different person. His beliefs and pursuits all disappeared with the wind like letters on the beach, leaving behind a hideous demon.
No matter what means he is, he must be stopped.
But there is the only thing that makes her hesitate, and whenever it comes to her heart, it will cause emotions to tremble - Eric.
The child was innocent. He knew nothing, but was inexplicably involved in such a complex vortex. She hated the man who cruelly brought his biological child into the vortex, but she could do nothing about it. Even during her days in Cube Prison, she never stopped paying attention to Eric's situation. She knew that the child just wanted to live his life in an ordinary way, which was also her expectation, just like most mothers, but unfortunately fate did not make them do what they wanted.
