Chapter 210 Dry Landscape

The body of a great doctor wants to have a clear and clear inner vision, and the vision is as clear as day. It is clear and clear, not bright and not unclear. It diagnoses diseases with a deep understanding of the heart. Carefully observes the appearance and appearance, not losing any detail. Prescribes acupuncture and medicine, but there is no success.

There are differences. Although it is said that the disease should be cured quickly, it is necessary to deal with the situation without confusion. The only thing is to examine the truth and thoughts, and not to put life above it. It is very unkind to show off one's handsomeness and flatter one's reputation. He also goes to the sick home and indulges in lust.

Your eyes are full, don't look left and right; your ears are filled with silk and bamboo, nothing seems to entertain you; delicacies are recommended over and over again, but the food seems to be tasteless; both spicy and fermented wines are present, and you can see if they are there or not. Therefore, my husband is alone in the corner, and the whole hall is unhappy, and what's more,

The patient is in pain and suffering, but the doctor is happy and proud. This is a shame shared by humans and gods. It is the original intention of medicine to do what humans would not do.

——Excerpt from "The Great Doctor's Sincerity" by Sun Simiao (Tang Dynasty) "Essential Prescriptions for Emergencies"

With the promotion of Baifu acupuncture therapy, the cure rate of camp B increased rapidly. At the same time, camps A, B and other camps also began to promote Qingcheng nine-needle acupuncture method, combined with decoction, so that patients without lesions can be prevented in advance and effectively inhibit

With the spread of the epidemic under control, the panic among the people of Luoyang and the victims gradually faded away.

About another month later, under the orderly command and deployment of Xu Taifu and other officials, a terrible plague finally passed and thousands of people were saved from death. The Luoyang prefect then ordered the city gates to be opened and transportation and markets to be restored. Luoyang

Shops in the city have opened one after another, people's lives have slowly returned to normal, and Dongdu has regained its former prosperity.

The people of Henan Province were very grateful for this, and the officials in Luoyang were also complacent. Especially after receiving Xuanzong's commendation, they became even more forgetful and resumed their hedonistic life of singing and dancing.

Taifu Xu secretly lamented that local officials' governance was no better than that of the court.

He repeatedly communicated with many famous doctors, medical practitioners, and medical monks in the hospital. Everyone felt that although the plague epidemic was under control, the cause of the epidemic had not been identified. The government should nip the disease in the bud instead of being satisfied with it.

Such short-term results.

Taifu Xu deeply believed in this. Everything will be done if it is foreseen, and if it is not foreseen, it will be ruined. You should prepare for a rainy day, and you cannot always improvise.

Taifu Xu wrote in his memorial to the court: "Luoyang is the hub of travel in the Central Plains, with many merchants traveling from north to south. The spread of disease is easier than in other areas. Once an outbreak occurs, it spreads more rapidly. In view of this, the court should

Allocate funds to establish a hospital to serve the people."

Taifu Xu took action while waiting for the emperor's approval.

He personally donated a hundred taels of gold, and used his personal prestige to raise funds of ten thousand taels of gold from Luoyang's wealthy households, and founded a formal comprehensive medical clinic by the Tianjin Bridge, named Anjifang. He spent a lot of money to hire famous doctors.

In the medical profession, medical monks sit in the hall for diagnosis and treatment.

Not long after, the imperial edict arrived, approving all the matters requested by Taifu Xu in the memorial: Anjifang is a government-run medical clinic for the common people. It was agreed to allocate a small amount of funds from Luoyang's tax revenue to maintain the medical clinic. For medical ethics

Doctors who are noble, have profound medical skills, and have cured many patients will be reported to the imperial court by the Luoyang government and commended with a purple gold fish bag and a hereditary title.

Anjifang only provides medical treatment to the common people. For poor patients, all medicines are free of charge. Every year from the beginning of spring to the Dragon Boat Festival, decoctions for dehumidification, detoxification, and disease prevention are distributed to the common people free of charge.

This afternoon, the sky was clear blue, the sun was bright, and a few white clouds were piled fluffily in a corner of the sky like large clumps of cotton wool.

After Taifu Xu finished handling his official duties, he stretched and walked into the courtyard. He squinted at the sky for a while, and suddenly a thought came to his mind.

He found Bai Fu and said, "Xue Xuan has been going to White Horse Temple for more than a month. I have nothing to do today. Let's go see her."

Bai Fu said happily: "Okay, I was so busy a while ago that I didn't pay attention to her."

Taifu Xu took Bai Fu and the simple chariot to the White Horse Temple.

The young novice monk at the gate of the mountain was very familiar with Master Xu. He bowed and saluted, and said: "Master Xu, my master said in the morning that you would come today and asked me to wait here."

Taifu Xu smiled and said, "We have a clear understanding. Your master has become more diligent again."

The incense in Baima Temple is flourishing, there is an endless stream of pilgrims in the main hall, the smoke is lingering, and the sound of chanting sutras is endless.

The young novice took Taifu Xu through the corridor and entered the side hall. After passing through the courtyard of the corridor, he opened a small vermilion door and entered the Zen courtyard where Zen Master Kong lived.

The Zen courtyard is very spacious. The first thing that catches the eye is a large expanse of fine white sand. The white sand is either lines, arcs, or circles, and has been plowed out with various textures such as ripples and waves. It is dotted with stones and green plants. It is like a fleeting moment.

The passing waves and ripples are solidified into the simplest lines, condensing into a still moment. Just like the large blank spaces in landscape paintings, they are simple and lingering.

A few rocks are piled randomly in the white sand, with a simple shape, just like the majestic and majestic Cangshan cliffs in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, which also sets off the vastness and openness of the Zen Yuan.

Two rugged boulders rise from the rock pile. There is a small stone bridge between the boulders. White sand like a rapid river passes under the bridge, and is dotted with stones and shrubs.

Looking at the huge rocks along the small stone bridge, "looking up from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain", the imposing momentum makes the viewer feel like looking up.

Behind the boulder, several vertical striped stones are piled up one after the other, as if the hills and valleys are concentrated and stacked, and the valleys are scattered layer by layer. The white sand runs through it, like a white spring waterfall between the valley and the jungle, winding down along the twists and turns of the mountain.

Bai Fu grew up in Shushan, and is particularly sensitive to landscapes. He quietly comprehends their profound meanings. He only feels that the layout and landscaping of the Zen courtyard condenses the beauty of nature into a small space. The white space in the courtyard is full of Zen opportunities, which are profound and lofty.

The Taifu said: "Don't be surprised by favor or disgrace, watch the flowers blooming and falling in front of the court; go or stay without intention, watch the clouds roll and relax in the sky. Nature has a power to calm people, and this power is an important boost to spiritual practice.

Zen Buddhism emphasizes enlightenment through meditation. The most ideal state for a monk is to practice alone in close proximity to famous mountains and rivers. However, due to various realities, it is difficult to have both. Therefore, Zen masters created a dry landscape garden that is as Zen as empty valleys and orchids. It is in harmony with tradition.

Gardens have different ways of "changing scenery with each step". The so-called "dry landscape" means that rocks are used as mountains, trees are used as forests, and sand is used as water. The thousands of mountains and rivers of nature are outlined in a small area. It creates an image of a distant mountain forest.

, an artistic conception that puts an end to the hustle and bustle.

Traditional gardens are "walking nature", while dry landscape gardens are "still nature". The birdsong brought by the wind, the fragrance diffused by the woods, the years are quiet, the time is long, and the moment is also eternity."

Plowing the white sand is also a part of Zen practice. Moisturizing things and cultivating the mind, forgetting the troubles, is the practitioner's reappearance of Zen, whether it is lines or arcs, freehand landscapes, and galloping around the world.

Master Liao Kong's dry landscape garden has its own metaphor. Here, the white sand condenses into a moment of stillness, and the river of white sand symbolizes the cycle of life. The stones are mountains and rivers, and only when the sky opens up can the earth be created. Shrubs are life, fragile and changeable, and

And endlessly.

The beauty of dry landscape lies not only in its refreshing visual appearance, but also in the fact that it requires meditation to realize the multiple images of life in the ever-changing world.

Perceive perfection in an imperfect world, even if it only takes a cup of tea.”

Bai Fuyi Jue is flying, forgetting both things and myself, I am in the courtyard, my heart is in the spiritual mountain. The Zen heart penetrates the shackles of space and time, and the spiritual realm and the mortal world can come and go with one thought.
