Chapter 14 Bavaria

Bavaria is located in southeastern Germany. The northwest of Bavaria borders Baden-Württemberg, Thuringia, Saxony, and Hesse, the Czech Republic to the east, and Austria to the south. Munich is the largest city in its territory. Bavaria has a large population.

, transportation is convenient, agriculture is developed, and it can also threaten Austria from the side.

The Wittelsbach dynasty that ruled Bavaria had always been close to Prussia, not to mention that the Duke of Bavaria was one of the seven electors of the Holy Roman Empire.

In 1356, Emperor Charles IV of the Luxembourg dynasty formulated the famous charter "Golden Seal" in Nuremberg in order to seek recognition from the princes for his son's succession to the throne. This formally confirmed the legitimacy of the feudal princes' election of the emperor.

The edict established the seven electors of the empire based on the seven deadly sins against the secular world. They were three ecclesiastical electors: the Archbishop of Mainz, the Archbishop of Cologne, the Archbishop of Trier, and the four secular electors.

Marquis: Duke of Saxe-Wittenberg, Margrave of Brandenburg, Count of Rhine-Palatinate, and King of Bohemia.

In fact, the person elected by the seven electors can only be called the "King of the Roman People". Only the "King of the Roman People" after marching to Rome and being crowned by the Pope can use the title of "Holy Roman Emperor". Three

The Elector of the Church is the oldest, richest and most powerful archbishop in Germany.

Among the four secular electors, Saxony can now be said to be the puppet of Prussia, while the electors of Bavaria (the count of the Rhine-Palatinate) must be in the hands of Prussia in order to form a force in the Holy Roman Empire.

The political power of Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II who opposed the Austrian Habsburg-Lorraine dynasty.

However, the Austrians would never sit back and watch the Prussians gain the title of elector and the vast territory of Bavaria, so this battle was expected.

"William, if there is a war with Austria, how do you think our army should march?" asked Frederick the Great.

"I heard that Elector Carl Theodor of Palatinate-Sulzbach was having an affair with the Austrians, and that Elector Carl Theodor was the first heir to Bavaria. If our army directly marched into Alfa

Leah lacked righteousness.

It would be better for our army to be divided into two armies, one going south from Silesia to attack Bohemia, and the other starting from Saxony and flanking Bohemia from west to east. The army going south can be used to confuse the Austrian army, not for victory, but for victory.

Fight steadily. On the other side, concentrate the main force quickly. When the Austrian army is confronting our troops heading south, they will appear unexpectedly behind them. They will attack from the front and back to eliminate the enemies of Bohemia, leaving the Queen without a crown on her head.

Then the whole army will march westward to Austria. If God bless us, we will not only win but also capture Bohemia. In this way, even if Elector Carl Theodore captures Bavaria, our army will be able to occupy Bohemia."

William said honestly under oath.

"Yes, it's interesting. Let me go back and think about it. What would you do if you were an Austrian?" Frederick asked again with interest:

"Concentrate the main force on the border of Bohemia, aiming directly at Brandenburg to threaten the rear of our army. This is a competition between us and the Austrians to see who is faster," William said

"William, you really impress me. This time I am going to go on the expedition myself. I won't take you with you since you are still young. You have to listen to the teacher I arranged and learn something well, you know?" Frederick said to William,

After William responded, Frederick waved his hand to ask him to retreat.

Not long after he left, he saw you, Louise, running towards him and shouting:

"William, my little William, come here quickly"

William ran over quickly.

Louise held William's hand and said:

"That's great, my Prince of Brandenburg, you're great." Apparently Louise was very excited after hearing Frederick the Great's order. Yes, Frederick's order was so unexpected, Brandenburg

The prince's status is equivalent to that of the crown prince, which greatly increases William's chances of inheriting the King of Prussia. Even Louise's status has also increased. She will no longer be ridiculed by a little mistress like William when he first came to this world.

.

"William, let's go, I'll take you to see your brothers and sisters." Louise took William's hand and walked to the left side of the palace. The crown prince's family usually lives on the left side of Sanssouci Palace.

"This is your sister Friedrich Charlotte Ulrike Catarina, this is your sister Friedrich Christine Emilia Wilhelmina, this is

This is your brother Friedrich Ludwig Karl, and this is also your sister Friedrich Louise Wilhelmine." Louise pointed to several children, big and small, and introduced to little William.

Her sister, Frederick Charlotte Ulrich Katharina, is ten years old this year and is the daughter of Frederick William II and Charles I, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Elizabeth

They had two children, but they divorced in 1767.

The younger sister, Friedrich Christine Emilia Wilhelmine, is five years old.

The younger brother, Friedrich Ludwig Karl, is four years old.

The little sister Frederick Louise Wilhelmine is three years old.

Although the relationship between his parents is not very good, this child is not bad, William thought in his heart.

After thinking about it, young William saluted his sisters. His sister Charlotte returned the salute gracefully, and the younger brothers and sisters also saluted with the help of the maids. Sure enough, the noble genes are good, and none of them in the family

It’s too long to be sorry for the audience.

"William, your room is on the right. That's His Majesty's residence. You have to listen to His Majesty, you know? Come over and play with your sisters more often, you know," Louise educated William.

"I know, mother." Seeing that William agreed, Louise happily said to her children:

"You must be obedient when getting along in the future. William will let his younger brothers and sisters go, and you must listen to William's words." Everyone agreed. After hearing that the children agreed, Louise walked out with satisfaction.

As soon as she left, the children dispersed. Charlotte came to the window with a book, Emilia ran to the drawing board and started drawing, while Ludwig and little Louise

Because he was too young, he was taken down by the maids.

Looking at the children, William had a headache. It seemed that the relationship at home was not very harmonious. After thinking about it, he bowed to the two sisters and asked the maid to take him to his room.

At this moment, where is our Crown Prince? It turns out that His Highness is walking with a beautiful woman in the garden behind the palace. If William were here, he would definitely recognize her. This woman was the mastermind behind his departure from Sanssouci Palace.

Wilhelmine von Lichtenau, mistress of Friedrich Wilhelm II.
